Mysterious Tunnel

[Level 14 Twin-Tailed Scorpion defeated]

[Xp gained]

Oh my Jeremy that was intense. I flop onto my side, panting heavily. Seriously, even though I killed that scorpion I did not enjoy it at all. And definitely not now, that was extremely tiring. It really drives in the point of my strength being simply way too weak. Or at least, weaker than I want. It would truly be a nice thing to just crush these creatures like they were nothing. Maybe in the future, in the future.

Alright, time to collect my prize, or eat my snack or whatever. Shambling over to the twin-tailed scorpion, I munch down as much as I can in my exhausted state. And this thing is truly too much to eat. That being said, I eat over half of it and dig a hole to save the rest, gaining seven life matter and a pleasant sated feeling. Nothing like seafood. Crusty.

Ok, seven life matter was just gained, so now seven life matter must be spent. What to spend it on though. Oh yeah, nothing. Seriously, the cost growth on my worm body upgrades is intense! Literally costs eleven life matter to upgrade the weakest body part! That seriously sucks!

Oh well, I guess I can only wait for my body to digest this half of the scorpion so I can eat the rest. I might be able to upgrade then, or not. Hard to tell. Hmm, you know, now that I think about it, this tunnel looks rather interesting.

I seem to be at the end of this tunnel, and it's clear that it wasn't monster-made. Or at least by monsters my level. Carvings line the over 10 meter high walls, which slope into a ceiling adorned with luminescent flowers powered by, something. The end where I'm at curves of into a semicircle, kind of like a ballroom or such. Broken remains of once-glamorous pillars mar the otherwise surprisingly smooth floors, which to their point are lined with meter-long square tiles, neatly intersecting one another and beautifully lining up with the walls.

The other side of the tunnels spreads far beyond the limits of my vision, largely similar to the end but as a hallway instead. Broken carvings and holes pockmark the length I can see, and the whole of the tunnel is in disrepair, which adds a sense of beauty to the timeless hall.

The carvings on the wall glow with a subtle blue light, fluctuating calmly and giving of a sense of security. Unfortunately I am unable to discern their purpose, that of which has been lost to the ever-turning wheels of time.

Sigh. This place makes me reminisce about my past life too much. I've finished digesting the first half of the twin-tailed scorpion, so I shove the design of the tunnel out of my mind and shovel the rest of my food down into me.

[Five life matter acquired]

Great! I can finally evolve a body part! Good gosh it's been quite a while since I've done that. I really need to start prioritizing my life matter. That being said, I'm about to spend all but one on an upgrade, so... I don't know. Anyway, Jeremy, upgrade my Void gland!!

[Upgrade Efficient Void Gland to Efficient Void Gland(I)]

[Confirm?]

Of course!

Ouch! I feel a ball of heat in my head just... burning. It hurts Jeremy! It hurts so much!

Hot damn that sucked, but I can feel an ever more present.. stone in the back of my head. It pulses lightly as well, and gives off a weird but comfy vibe. I might have an idea, actually. Can I increase my mana? Well, there's only one way to find out!

But not here. This place starts to give off creepy vibes when you stay too long. Back to my house I go!!!
