Changing Fates and Destiny(4)

LELEINA'S POV:-

A man walks out of the smoke as the debris clears.

"Stop running, you bastards," he speaks with disdain in his voice as he plays with his dagger.

Few daggers made of water are floating around him.

'Ruby rank adventurer: Robin,' I mumble as I look at him.

Observing the situation around us, he slowly walks towards us.

His gaze seems to pierce us.

The Devils saw this as an opportunity and surrounded us from both sides.

The number of the devils is...4..5..8..12? That's a lot of Devils. Judging from their aura they seem to be Supreme Devils.

"Just what could so many devils be doing near the Sacred Tree," I loudly blurt out my thoughts as I was really confused at this part.

Aria and Kaneto turn towards me before looking at the Devils again.

'Shouldn't they run away from here as they have fulfilled their mission of burning the tree? Why haven't they left yet?'

This is getting more incoherent than I thought.

Robin simply walks towards us.

"Hello there, you look like you might need some help," he speaks with a smile on his face as the daggers start revolving around him at high speed then stretch in a wide circle.

Then he chants,

"[Incomplete Water Prison]" and the daggers increase in length and width connecting each other forming a dome of water that covered us.

"Incomplete? What does it mean by that?" I ask him about the word in his chant.

He looks at me, then tilts his head in confusion before his expression changes, as he recalls something,

"Ah! That, Wood Fairy Queen, is because this dome allows people to enter the dome but doesn't allow them to escape," he explains with sincerity as he looks at me with a courteous smile on his face.

'His mind looks preoccupied, I shouldn't disturb him. But still, why create such an unusual opening?' I mumble silently.

I glance around to see the devils getting slightly nervous, then they start attacking us.

All the devils attack us at once.

Kaneto and Robin cover us.

"[Water Blades: Multiple Cuts]"

"[Weight of Earth: Impure Slashes]"

Both Robin and Kaneto channel their mana and unleash a move.

Robin's mana creates hundreds of blade in the air that moves at high speed attacking the Devils. Each slash cuts the Devil, creating a deep red water blade around us.

Kaneto's slashes curve around the globe hitting most of the Devils. The Devils who are hit by the attacks are getting pushed back with every hit.

"Hey, that's a nice move you got there. I have never heard about someone like you. Would you like to chat with me, after all this is over?" Asks Robin to Kaneto.

Robin's expression looks like he is interested in knowing Kaneto.

But if I am not wrong he has some suspicions about Kaneto...maybe even about us.

Kaneto simply ignores him.

'Well, he wasn't...really...the type to bother with these type things, was he?'

"Since, it's boring if no one talks, how about I tell you a small fact?" He speaks as he looks at me.

"Me?!?" I was a bit stunned at his sudden question.

"Yeah, so wanna hear it?" He asks as his blades slash another Devil.

I look around to see the blades have turned slightly red. A chill runs down my spine as I look at the scene.

'Gulp'

"...Okay," I answer Robin.

He smiles then speaks,

"You see that the Devils are all coming towards us even though they could run away, right?"

"Yeah," I answer him.

"It's a curse. Ladros had put a curse on the Devils that if more than 10 Devils attack a small group of 4 and the position of the highest member in both the parties is same, like Supreme Devil and Supreme Elf, the other Devils around them are forbidden to stay away from the battle," he speaks as he points at himself then other Devils with a smile.

'Huh? There was a curse like that, wasn't it? Normally it would have worked like a charm for the Devils, but with Robin being an Elf and gaining mana from the Sacred Tree. It became a ticket to hell,'

'So, that's why the dome allows entering people from outside, huh?' I mumble understanding.

A few Devils manage to get close to Aria.

Kaneto comes in between and slashes them.

I look at the scene around me...

The Devils are trying their best to attack us but they are easily deflected by Kaneto and Robin.

Soon

Aria joins the battle.

"[Leaf of life: Decaying Growth]" she chants her magic and leaves start growing around the area slowly.

'Sigh...looks like I need to fight too.'

I flap my wings and fly high. Then,

"[Wood magic: A forest without life]" I chant my magic and woods start growing all around us...

Looking around

The Devils seem to be increasing.

How many more, I wonder?

'If that's the case then,'

I look at Aria who is staring at me.

We both nod and move close to each other.

I grab her hand.

"[Combination magic: Suffocating Forest]"

"[Combination magic: Suffocating Forest]"

We chant in sync.

A forest surrounds us that keeps grabbing the Devils that are weakened by Kaneto and Robin and suck their life force as nourishment.

Kaneto and Robin kept weakening the Devils and we kept decreasing their numbers.

...

The fight soon ends.

I look at others.

"Since we know what's important, let's finish that first," Robin speaks.

Understanding what he meant I look at the Sacred Tree then we dash towards it.

I take a peek at the bodies of the Devils we left behind. It was a massacre.

Turning around I move towards the Sacred tree with others.
