17 Aftermath
ANNA'S POV:-
8:00 AM
It has been a week since the last battle took place.
The whole Eros town is in an uproar these days.
An attack at the mansion where several servants were killed.
One of the instructors died too while the other one was still unconscious.
Father lost his right arm, protecting mother.
Aunt Julia and Sophia were very injured too.
I, myself was hurt after the battle.
But the worst news was...
'The triplets have been kidnapped.
A devil took the chance in between the commotion.
He attacked Light, Corey and Chase who were approaching aunt Julia.
Knights have been searching for them continuously for the past week.
But they couldn't seem to find them no matter how much they tried.'
And the reason was...
"This apple is good", said Light who was sitting beside me, eating the apple from the fruit basket given for me.
From the expression he was making, he looked like he was enjoying the apple.
" Hey Light, how long do we have to stay in?"Asked Corey sitting on my other side, trying to create something from his mana. He was trying so hard that it started to look funny.
And...
" This is irritating," muttered Chase with a dejected face. He was sitting near the window facing the sun. He looked more tired than usual.
"Until next week", replied Light to Corey.
'aahh,' a sigh escaped my mouth.
'These pipsqueaks...honestly', I thought shaking my head...
From what I heard from Amanda...
Aunt Julia and Sophia fought 2 supreme devils one after another and defeated them. The devils were well prepared but due to some infighting between them, a chance was created.
Aunt Sophia's support played a crucial role in the battle.
Light and others reached them after the battle ended.
After that, they took instructor Samantha along with them who was kidnapped from the mansion. Aunt Julia carried her.
When they reached us, I was already unconscious.
Then everyone was taken to the wooden house.
Aunt Sophia and Julia along with Light, Corey and Chase went to a different room to talk about something.
It was a long talk because it had taken 1-2 hours to finish.
After that when they came out of the room, everyone except Light had an indescribable face.
Soon everyone returned to Eros mansion only to find out about the massacre.
Father, after dropping us at the Academy, will visit the Royal Kingdom to 'grow' back his arm.
I heard that one of the Royal mages has Light attribute there and can grow back limbs too.
Mother healed everyone after recovering her mana.
When everything settled down, it was time to decide about the future.
And in the end, it was decided that Light, Corey and Chase will go out as rouge adventurers with an expert.
Somehow it was difficult for me to understand that decision, but for some reason, everyone agreed to this plan. Well, not everyone because mom and dad objected to it, but they gave up after seeing that nobody was listening to them.
We were asked to keep quiet about this whole ordeal. They will enrol in the royal academy after 4 years.
The funeral for Instructor Theoder will take place back in his city in the west of Sol.
Mother and father were ecstatic after they heard that I had an enlightenment in magic.
But they got worried when the pain didn't lessen even after 24hours.
That was when Light muttered,' It will probably take a week for the pain to subside.' Nonchalantly.
Continuing he spoke, 'She forced her mana beyond her limits and burned a portion of her body from the inside also burning the impurity. When Amanda healed her back to the top form, her body reached a higher state of purity.
This process was continuous for a few minutes opening her closed mana channels and increasing the outflow of dormant magic within her. If I were to say, her mana enlightenment was forced and not natural. It's just a guess but, the effect was 2 or maybe 3 times the normal enchantment, so the after-effects will be longer. If I am not wrong, it will take roughly 3 to 7 days and honestly, if she wasn't such a hard worker and used to tough situations on a daily basis plus it was a matter of life and death, she would have died.' He said with a serious face.
My father asked if there were any side effects but he said he couldn't tell much about that because it was all just a theory he formed from what he read in various books about enlightenment.
Amanda and mother took turns to heal me and finally, yesterday the pain was completely subsided.
Though I was asked to take rest for a few more days before getting up.
We will be leaving town 3days later and heading for the Royal Academy at the northwest of Sol.
It was at the junction of three kingdoms but, was an independent body.
As long as you have talent you are allowed to enter and study at the academy.
Amanda and Linda will be coming with us too along with father and mother. They will live with us at the Royal Academy where it would be comparatively safer. I heard Katherine would be coming there too next month.
Uncle Stephan will be staying here, aunt Julia with aunt Sophia will go to the Central Kingdom of Sol to report what had happened.
Uncle August, the husband of aunt Sophia, was present at the Central kingdom regarding some work. When he heard what had conspired here, he immediately asked his family to come back home.
They should be leaving soon.
But before all that...
" Light...", I looked directly into his eyes, then bowing slightly with respect.
"Thank you", I spoke with a serious face," if it wasn't for you, half of us would have been dead and the rest might have been kidnapped by the demons already. As long as it is within my power, I'll help you out whenever you need it."I continued
Without his help, forget about getting a chance to defeat the demons, we might already have been dead or kidnapped.
The only miscalculation that failed demons' plan was Light, and I have a feeling that this isn't the first time he will be doing something like this.
Light...Corey...Chase...
Next time we meet, I wonder what the future would hold for us...
I clenched my fist thinking about the next time we will meet.
That's a day I will be looking forward to.

LADROS'S POV:-
A topless man wearing black jeans sitting on a throne could be seen.
A handsome face, red eyes, long black hair, dark red coloured well-defined athletic body and a pair of black-feathered wings.
He had a terrifying aura around him.
He was the current Sin of Greed, Ladros.
3 female devils bowing on one knee could be seen in front of him.
"Repeat the report." He spoke monotonously but the atmosphere around him became colder by moment. His eyes piercing the left devil.
"2 supreme devils: Orion and Hell creeper had been defeated along with every demon we sent except High devil Sebas who is still missing along with 2 targets, Corey and Chase." She reported everything in brief.
-Bang
Ladros hit the hand of the chair angrily.
The three devils flinched a little but maintained their position and facial expression.
"Aria," he called in a slightly irritated tone.
"Yes, master", the middle devil came forward.
"Find out where is Sebas, absorb him, and bring the children here. You may leave now." He ordered.
"Yes, master", she answered immediately. A smile could be seen on her face, then she vanished from there.
Then he looked at the devil on the right side.
" Unia", he called.
She too came forward but didn't speak anything.
"Go to Eslaine, the elf princess is kept hidden there. Bring her back, I don't want any mistakes."
He ordered.
She then vanished from there without any change in her expression.
"Some variable has interfered our plans, I must remove it from the core...do they take me for an idiot." He muttered in a low voice as a frown was forming on his face.
Then he relaxed his face.
Then...
"Ea", he looked at the first devil who reported about the incident.
"Come to my room tonight. Now leave," he spoke as the left devil vanished too. Her face was smiling too, but for a different reason.

Back at the Eros mansion
"So where are we going first?" Asked Chase as he looked back at Light.
"Our destination is Alfheim, but first we will be staying for a few days in Eslaine...", replied Light.

" I wonder if anything interesting is going on here."
