Zolis stood on the ramparts above the Eastern Gate. Her usual merry and playful demeanor was replaced by anger and worry.

"Zolis!"

She looked back to see Sindri quickly climbing the stairs. Her face mirrored the uncertainty on Zolis' own.

"What's the count?" She asked.

Sindri took the last three steps to stand beside her. Glancing over the edge of the wall, she saw the siege weapons that were swiftly being erected.

"Filthy said that there are already two thousand men by the South Gate and one thousand by the North Gate. There are none currently on the city's western side, but he killed a party of scouts that were leaving the Quarry," Sindri reported.

Zolis nodded, "Tell him not to kill any other scouts that go that way. We need them to know that there are Towers set up in the Quarry."

Sindri nodded and sprinted back down the steps. Zolis sighed and continued watching the army set up their weapons.
