"I built my business, my world, from nothing. Everyone thought I would fail, but I stood tall and showed them my worth and now they're envious of me. Imagine that! Me, Phoenix Mills, a woman to envy. If only they knew what I've been through to get where I am today. The hurt. The pain. They wonder why my walls are so high and hard to break but they don't understand what I've been through. "CIARA!,"

"Yes ma'am, I'll be right there,"

LOS ANGELES, CARLIFONIA

CLUB X (locker room)

I think I should give Miss Mills a call after all it's been more that 2 weeks and it wouldn't seem nice if I don't give her a call.

After a few rings, Phoenix picked up the phone on the other end

"Hi, who is this?"

"Good evening ma'am, this is Olivia Jones, the girl you saved about a month ago; you said I should call you but I have been busy with trying to earn a living,"

"Oh, I remember you, Olivia. How are you?"

"I'm doing great and you?"

"I'm doing okay. I remember saying that you should give me a call and fix a time and place for us to meet. Well, if you'll be free over the weekend, I'm sure I can make time for you after my show, probably in the evening,"

"On Saturday?,"

"Yeah, we can meet up at the park by 5pm, is that okay with you?"

"Okay, I'm cool with that,"

"And don't forget to bring your CV along but if you don't have any, I'm sure we can work something out for you,"

"Really, you're not kidding?"

"No, I'm not. Don't forget to call me an hour before the meet up because I have got tins of pending work on my plate,"

"Sure thing ma'am, thank you,"

"Have a great day Miss Olivia,"

Oh my goodness! Wait a minute; I can't believe that that just happened. Finally, I can get out of this hellhole and stupid lifestyle. I'm pretty sure that my mum and dad will be happy to hear this but I won't tell them just yet until after my meeting with Miss Phoenix.

CLUB X (VIP lounge)

Allen Martins was having a business meeting with some of his business partners and the conversation somehow tilted to their ex-girlfriends and Allen knew that he was probably the biggest fool in the room.

"Well, Ella was giving me a pretty hard time; all I did was ask her to get pregnant for me and she flipped saying that she wasn't ready to be a single mum and that I needed to get married to her first before she can get pregnant for me. Can you guys imagine that? She's such a joke. I broke up with her cause I didn't need to put up with all that crap," Aiden Flynn said

"That's just crazy man, what's she trying to do, tie you down with the concept and idea of marriage?" Felix Hernando replied

"Oh no, I don't think that's what she wants, I'm guessing she wants you to get married to her so she can ask for a divorce after a while and gets away with half of your money as alimony making her a millionaire overnight," Flynn Spencer said to both Aiden and Felix

"That's so true man; I didn't even think that far, you're absolutely right Flynn. Tsk, women; coming up with different tactics to get money,"

Allen just looked at all his friends and wondered how he got to be friends with such bunch but then again it is being said that birds of the same feathers, flock together, I guess I'm no much different from the rest.

"Allen, what about Phoenix? Hey guys, this dumb nigga broke up with Phoenix for some lame girl that isn't even what it. You're a joke man," Flynn said

"What? You can't be serious man, phoenix, really?" Felix said, surprised

"That's so lame bro, so lame. I thought mine was bad but I guess yours is worse," Aiden looked at Allen like he had committed treason.

"Guys, I can explain. Look, I need power and I don't think Phoenix can offer me that right now," Allen said that thinking his friends will take sides with him.

"If I had someone half as good as Phoenix, I'd marry her as soon as possible without asking any questions. Allen, I'm your friend and I'm not going to lie to you on this one; you lost a gem and if you can get her back then do so," Flynn just couldn't believe Allen at all. What exactly was he looking for in a woman that Phoenix didn't have? Phoenix is a combination of beauty and brains.

"I agree with Flynn, you have got to sort this out,"

It was one hell of a night at the club and Allen couldn't wait to get home. When he got apartment, he kept walking and thinking about what his friends said at the club; what they did they know about being in a relationship, they were all clueless when it came to matters of the heart. When he got to the door, he dipped his hands in pocket and brought out his house key and fiddled with it before opening the door and going in.

Allen switched on the lights and was surprised to see Phoenix sitting there and looking at him

"Phoenix,"

"Hi, Allen"

"What are you doing here?"

"I came to drop off two things that I forgot the last time I was here. I guess I left this place in haste and forgot to drop them off,"

"What are those?'

"The keys to your apartment and this too," Phoenix took slow strides towards Allen and looked up at him, her eyes showed so much emotion but one was expressed more; pain, raw pain. She took in deep breaths and gave Allen a very long overdue slap right on his cheek and walked out but stopped "That's for not knowing what you had,"

Allen couldn't believe what just happened; Phoenix slapped him and walked out of his life for good. He really had lost a great gem.

Phoenix couldn't contain her tears anymore and she let them flow, weeping bitterly at how love never seemed to be on her side and how it hurts. She had to admit it, bracing up and going over to Allen's apartment after the break up was the hardest thing she had done in a long while; it really was heartbreaking but now, it showed that she had really moved on.

Getting on her motorbike, she drove all the way to club Nevada and got herself situated at the VIP lounge and ordered herself some shots of tequila. A thought came to mind and she called Sterling right away. Sterling didn't pick up on the first ring but he picked on the second ring.

"Hello,"

"Hi Sterling, come to club Nevada right away, it is important,"

"Oh, I see. I'm on my way,"

After Sterling hung up, he wondered what was going on and why she needed him at club Nevada by this time of hour. Sterling checked the time using his phone and it was 9pm on the dot. He quickly got dressed in a brown khaki, white shirt and a puma sneaker and drove off in his BMW. When he got to Club Nevada, he called Phoenix and the only reasonable words he could make out were "VIP lounge" which was a bit slurred..

'Yikes, someone is tipsy'

I ran like a deer heading towards the water brooks only to find my mullatoe angel in tears and half a bottle of whisky; I'm guessing she drank the other half which explains her current behavior….

When Phoenix saw Sterling she screamed his name

"Sterling, you're here!"
