1 Chapter 1

Streetlight starts to open as the clock hits the time. Tall buildings and mansions brighten up as the clouds are starting to get dark.

People were rushing and crowding. Some, dressed in school uniform walk hurriedly as they are excited to get home. Others were on their phones either playing games, texting or calling their friends and relatives. Some were chitchatting, talking about work, school, boyfriends and girlfriends, teachers, homework and other stuffs.

All their voices mixed together forming not a harmonic melody instead a destructive sound. But it was not enough to cover up the loud noise coming from the expensive vehicles that pass through the road.

A busy, noisy and a crowded place but nobody seems to mind since they are all engrossed in their own businesses.

In an area not far from this busy society are small houses lighted up by candles. Instead of people's endless chatter or the vehicles' noise, crickets can be heard here instead, clearly more pleasing to ears than the sound mentioned earlier.

There were no luxurious cars, trucks or trains in the place only a three wheeled vehicle known as tricycles and also bicycles were around.

Mango trees, guava trees, cotton fruit trees, and other fruit bearing and bamboo trees surround this area. The soil was not cemented instead it's fertile and suitable for planting vegetables and other crops.

A 8-year-old girl named Alex ran behind the biggest mango tree, a giggle escaped from her mouth. She's dressed in a cute t-shirt that has printed cupcakes on it and a cotton short that matches her top. Her hair is black like a raven, landing in a wavy motion down to her waist. Her face is really adorable, her cheeks are rosy and her lips are red and pouty. Her light brown eyes, the most attractive part of her, reflected a light of innocence, so bright, it makes people afraid to look at her, afraid that they will be blinded by the girl's pureness.

"5... 4... 3... 2... 1... here I come. Better be hiding well or the consequence will not be good. BUWAHAHAHAHA" A boy, 10 years of age named Zeno, said while laughing like an evil man, but with his childish voice, he sounded rather angelic than evil.

You can tell by his appearance that when he's all grown up, he will be a lady killer. His hair is brown and messy. His eyes are silver glinting in playfulness. He looks really mischievous.

Alex covered her mouth as she was about to burst in laughter.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are!" The boy added, looking closely on the trees as he searched for his friends who are hiding.

"Hey..." A lazy voice called.

Alex looked on top of another tree beside her hiding place and saw Seth laying on the thick branch, as he lowered his book.

If Zeno is a lady killer, then Seth is on another level. Despite the fact that some of their features match, like their beautiful silver eyes, Seth has a different appeal. He is more on the lazy and serious type. His silver eyes beamed in a mysterious glint and his gorgeous platinum hair is a bit messy from reading.

"What?" Alex tilted her head as she blinks her eyes, asking innocently with her cute voice.

"I.d.i.o.t..." Seth slowly muttered as he stares at her in a sleepy manner.

"You...!"

Alex puffed her plump cheeks in annoyance.

"You're the idiot! Your whole family is an idiot!" She whispered quite loudly.

Seth looked at her helplessly as he folded his knees and placed his right arm on his right knee, his palm supporting his drowsy head.

Alex sticks her tongue out at him in hate completely oblivious of the person, smiling creepily, behind her.

"Gotcha~!"

"AHHHHHHH" Alex shrieked when Zeno held her shoulders from behind.

"Zeno you scared me!" Alex pouted at him.

She lost again.

"Why do you always find me? What's your technique?" Alex stared at him in an admiring manner.

Every time they play hide-and-seek; she always loses the game. She finds it unbelievable that Zeno always finds her within 10 seconds or sometimes, if she's lucky within 20 seconds.

"You talked too loud." Zeno chuckled at her cute gesture. "That's why I always find you." He added, as he placed his hand behind his head, looking like a humble fellow.

"Truly an idiot..." Someone sitting on top of the tree muttered.

"Seth~!" Alex rolled her eyes at him.

"Why do you always call me an idiot, you idiot?! You're the ones at fault because you talked to me earlier." Alex looked at him in a blaming manner. She folded her arms on her flat chest as she stares at him with her eyes turning small.

"Idiot, the reason why you're so easy to find is because before the game even started, you already sold your hiding spot by looking at it in front of the seeker. You're too easy to read." Seth said. "And besides, whose the idiot who will hide in the biggest and thickest tree which is 'obviously' a very 'obvious' hiding spot other than you?" He lazily added with his eyebrow arched in an angle.

Speechless, Alex eyes tear up. "You..."

She started sobbing and crying loudly. Her cute and fat cheeks turning red.

"There, there... don't cry Alexandra. Don't listen to Seth. He has loose screws so don't mind him." Zeno hugged Alex as she cries on his chest.

"Bro, apologize to Alexandra now." Zeno looked at his twin brother.

Helpless, Seth went down from the tree and grab his handkerchief from his pocket. Alex looked at him in teary eyes and runny red nose.

He wiped her tears gently.

"Don't cry, you're 10x uglier." He said softly but the content of what he said is not that sweet. Alex stared blankly at him, while Zeno's eyes widen.

Zeno: "..." Unbelievable

Seth, reading his twin's expression, just shrugged out his brother's thought.

"Now blow..." Seth asked as he place his handkerchief on her nose.

Alex, looking at Seth, blew all the mucus in her nose while Seth just stared at his hand holding the handkerchief.

"So disgusting..." He mumbled.

"You... Uwaahhhhhhh. Zeno! Your twin brother is annoying. I hate him...! UWAAAHHHHHH"

Zeno hugged Alex as he stares at his brother helplessly.

'bro, that's not how to comfort a girl.' He mentally facepalmed.

"huhuhu"

"there, there... don't cry, my dear." Zeno comforted.

Seth looked at the two of them, who knows what's he's thinking...
