Chapter 2: Its That Day

Red woke up, got dressed, grabbed her basket, and put on her red cloak that she always wore. She then, started to head outside but not just before her mother stopped her. "Red, the town store clerk has been slaughtered, he's dead. I dont think its a safe idea to go to grandma's house at all." She explained. "I've got it all under control, mom. See?" Red pulls out a small pistol out of her basket. "Alright, but if you need anything, call me. You've gotta remember were in the 21st century, phones exist." Her mom was worried. "Yeah, and so do cars and buses too, but I'm not taking either." Red angrily stated as she plowed out of the door and straight down the street. Everyone was gathered around the shop, the opposite way of Red's direction. She wanted to steer clear of them, and what they had to say about the clerk. She didn't really know him, but in a way, he was like her brother. Red kept on walking while holding closely to her wooden basket, and keeping the lid cracked so she had a chance to pull the gun out IF she does get assaulted. Red was ready, fearless, and naive. She didn't care about death, nor fear it. But she did want to live, not for her own sake of course, but for her mothers. She cared about her mom, and if anyone had hurt her, Red would've killed them on the spot. She was just like that, kinda emotionless when it comes to non-family members. As Red was in her thoughts, the killer was close by behind, stalking and waiting for the right time. Suddenly, upon came the woods, and Red had walked right into them, and also right into the killer's trap.
