The Wave Of Calamity

(I realize that Mordred's power level is vague asf, I don't know how strong is she even though I'm the author. Well, I don't really want to make very OP mc but let's see how this is going)

Mordred's POV:

A deafening sound echoed throughout the world.

In the very next instance, my vision was flushed away and the scenery around me changed. We were probably being teleported.

"The sky…" Dyed an eerie wine red, cracks began peeling away and expanding outward through the sky due to the dimensional rift.

"...Is breaking apart?!" Naofumi said in horror.

However, that's not the end. Monsters and demons come crawling out and pushing against each other through the large crack in the sky.

"The wave of calamity!"

I kept a calm face, this reminds me of Blood Forest's tragedy. (Modred's backstory)

While assessing the scene, three shadows dashed past us, followed by twelve other people.

"It's them!"

Sword Hero, Spear Hero and Bow Hero followed by their followers run directly to the main stage.

Do I need to follow them? They can handle themselves but... I want to kill the boss first, kukuku.

"Lord Naofumi! It's the coal mine! Ryute Village, which helped us out so much, is near here!" Raphtalia said.

Suddenly, I have an idea.

"Yosh, Raphtalia. Let this be an exam for you, protect the Ryute Village with master." I patted Raphtalia's shoulder.

"But sensei-" She tried to stopped me but I quickly interjected,

"There is no but, I want you to let me know that all training you spend is worth it." She was silent for a few seconds.

"Where you'll be going, saber?" Naofumi asked.

"To the main stage." I grinned.

Raphtalia and master are different from the original... Their powers have grown quickly with my help and master understanding that these puny demons aren't my opponents, he gave me the permission to act alone.

"Alright, sensei. Me and Naofumi-sama will protect the Ryute village." Raphtalia finally agreed.

"Good, you two need more experience! I hope that's you two won't be injured after the battle." Then I quickly disappeared from my spot.

(After this, it's completely original and not from manga)

3rd POV:

Mordred dashed through the dense forest with ease. She easily passed through the three heroes and their companions. The heroes didn't realize that Mordred was already way past them.

"Get out of my way, ants!" Slashing and hacking down the monsters.

Mordred grinned as she enjoyed making these creatures suffer.

Blood is everywhere on the ground. Mordred realized what she had done. Thinking she overdid it, she quickly continues running.

"Where is the boss monster?" Right after she asked herself, an explosion erupted from the east.

"Ah, jackpot." A smile formed on her face.

Dashing to the spot where the explosion just erupted, Mordred arrived at the spot, but she never really expected the three heroes to arrive first.

"Damn, they must have had high luck to arrive here so quickly. But yeah, I guess it was my own fault that I was enjoying slashing the monsters." Mordred sighed.

Mordred's first plan was to just kill the boss before the three heroes arrived, but because Mordred was distracted, the three heroes were the ones to reached the boss first.

"Right, I can go and just steal their kills, but I will be the villain because of the red bitch. I must admit that I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but let's think of another plan... " She tried to think of another plan.

"Maybe just cover my identity? Nah, too cliche. Besides, that Spear Hero will definitely recognize me by my outfit."

"Maybe I just watched them defeat the boss? Then why am I here?" Mordred rubbed her temple.

"FUCK IT! Let's just kill the boss from a distance. "

Mordred gripped her sword tightly and turned to face the monster. Infusing mana on her sword, purple mana slowly rises to the tip of the blade.

"If they die, they die for a good cause. Anyway, let's just hope this will one-shot the monster." Mordred's eyes suddenly turned cold, and she swung her sword downward calmly, like calm water.

"Dragon... slash." Mordred muttered.

A strange sound was heard by the three heroes. Their sense of danger has alerted them, but they are too late to move because... the slash has been delivered. The destructive purple slash just killed the monster.

"Dammit, I wish I could say Excalibur, but that is father's ultimate move name, not mine. I'm really bad at naming my moves." Mordred sighed.

She then turned her back and headed to the village.

. . .

Ren, Itsuki, and Motoyasu are confused. They turn their faces toward the monster, but what they see is something amazing. A clean slice through the half monster.

Before they knew anything, they heard the strange sound of a slash, but they couldn't find the one who made the sound. However, after looking at the monster, it was cleanly sliced in half, and they were sure it wasn't them that was doing it.

"Someone else must have done it... someone strong." Ren tightened his grip on the sword.

He clearly knew that it was a sword slash, and he felt jealous that it was powerful. His urge to become stronger has grown. Greed for power and the ability to outperform others has increased.

Itsuki was surprised but also disappointed that he wasn't the one who killed the boss. He didn't have a chance to be a "hero" since the boss is dead now.

While with Motoyasu, he's completely dumbfounded. He felt something familiar, yet he couldn't tell who it was.

The sky slowly turned back to normal. The crack in the sky had been completely healed, but the monsters were still roaming the place.

She didn't return to Naofumi and Raphtalia after she fled the scene. She watched the scenery. She loves fighting, but there is a part of her that dislikes it. Maybe because she was a softie at first and always was.

If she had never picked up a sword in her childhood, she would've chosen to be a maid if she wasn't Mordred. However, Life, on the other hand, has chosen her to be a Mordred and a Knight.

She scratches her hair, feeling a bit frustrated. She is Mordred, but she sometimes feels like she isn't, and while her Mordred's side overpowered Kousuke's, her previous life as Kousuke always remains in her heart.

She always said to herself that she was both Kousuke and Mordred, but that was all a lie. She has always resembled Mordred more than Kousuke.

"Mother always said that I've always been her daughter. Maybe she's right." She bitterly smiled.

She then stretches her arm and stand up, "Right, I should return to master right now."

. . .

The sound of steps can be heard behind Naofumi and Raphtalia's back. They turned around to find Mordred nonchalantly walking to them.

"How the wave has been treating you guys?" Mordred asked.

"It was pretty fast..." Naofumi answered.

"Of course! Since I'm the one who killed the boss." Mordred grinned. "These three heroes only show their flashy moves but the damage is like a scratch." sneered.

"Good job, sensei!" Raphtalia happily congratulated Mordred.

Mordred grinned become wider but suddenly, a knight approach them and inform them.

"The King has requested The Shield Hero's party to attend the banquet and to receive rewards, tonight."

Naofumi nodded, he wasn't gonna miss the rewards for his deeds.

Having nothing left to say, the Knight quickly left.

"Ohh, a banquet. I'm sure the foods will be delicious." Mordred smiled. But her moods become sour when she thinks about meeting the King. She will never bow to a King who doesn't deserve her respect.

"I just care about the rewards, you two can eat whatever you want since I'm not paying."

Raphtalia drolled at the thought of eating delicious and expensive foods, but quickly wiped her drolls when she realized that she was left behind by Mordred and Naofumi.

"W-Wait, Naofumi-sama, sensei!!"

Mordred... Well, still in her usual outfit. She has literally worn the same outfit for almost four years, and she has never changed it.

She sometimes gets tired of looking at her outfit, but it was the most comfortable outfit she personally ordered from the dressmaker, and the price wasn't kidding. The silk-smooth material is very rarely used to create clothes, and it has some special effects.

While her clothes constantly got damaged, she only used mana to make the outfit repair itself.

Mordred had another thought to use another outfit, and it was a maid's outfit, but she quickly dismissed it. It was too embarrassing to reveal that she liked wearing cute outfits. She preferred her usual outfit, which was not too revealing. It wasn't that girlish or boyish plus it was really comfortable to wear.

Mordred grabbed plates filled with food from the table and quickly ate it then she grabbed another one. She repeated the same process many times.

"I really wonder if her bloodlines eat like that." Naofumi wondered. He could hear his wallet crying if he had to pay for Mordred's food, but thankfully, Mordred knew her own boundaries.

While Raphtalia, with a plate on her hand, eats slowly. She felt jealous that even though Mordred ate many foods, she never saw that Mordred was actually getting fat.

"Sensei is going to devour all the foods on the banquet at this point." Raphtalia muttered.

Mordred's ears were perked up when he heard that the chef has fresh garlic bread coming right up, she quickly left Raphtalia and Mordred.

"And there she goes, someone is not gonna get their favorite garlic bread today." Naofumi sighed but a faint smile can be seen on his face.

- To Be Continue

(A/N: Finally, an update. How long has it has been? A month? I don't know but yeah, I'm glad I'm back and finally put my time into updating this book even though I'm really busy because of school and my other fanfic.

It hasn't been proofread yet, so if you encounter small mistakes in grammar and spelling, I'm sorry.

Just a little information about the boss. The reason why I didn't give some details about the boss is that I'm afraid that I'll get the information wrong. This is certainly AU but I try to keep the information I wouldn't change stay accurate, I think that's all. See y'all later)
