1 Kousuke Itoshi

Disclaimer: I do not own Rising of the Shield Hero but I do own my OC and Original Story.

Warning: This chapter lacks conversation.

...

Kousuke Itoshi is a 16-year-old boy and an otaku. Very original, right? Anyways, even though Kousuke is an otaku, that doesn't mean he is not athletic. His talent in football is amazing. Leading his team to win many tournaments isn't an easy feat.

Being an astounding striker, his personality becomes arrogant and cold. He looks down at someone who can't beat him. It makes him look like a villain, but he couldn't care less.

The secret of him being a big fan of anime and light novels are always secure as he doesn't have any friends to begin with.

In high school, his personality becomes worse as he picks people who irritate him. He has constantly beaten anyone who picks a fight with him, but despite the fact that his personality is arrogant and cold, he has a soft heart for kind people.

In his early childhood days, he was bullied because he was a loser and a loner, but only one person defended him: Haruki Itoshi, his twin sister. He admires his strong sister and is always inspired to be like her.

Haruki Itoshi is a kind girl that makes her popular in high school. She always scolds Kousuke for fighting, but Kousuke refutes that they are always picking fights with him.

They were inseparable but soon changed, as nothing lasts forever. Haruki died because of an accident. Haruki was pushed by someone, her brain was damaged, and she soon died in a hospital.

After finishing fighting, he got called by his mother, she said that Haruki died. Kousuke had a breakdown because of her sister's death. They were very close to each other, but yet, Haruki left him first.

Kousuke denies the fact that his sister died at first, but he's not an idiot enough to think his mother's crying was fake. His denial changes to anger. He wanted to find the one who did this to his sister, but that would sound stupid. His rage turned to depression; no matter how strong Kousuke's physical body was, he was mentally weak.

Kousuke blames himself even though it is not his fault. When his sister, who is the most important figure to Kousuke, dies, he loses hope in himself.

When Kousuke quit football, he decided to isolate himself from everyone, including his parents. He watches anime to forget reality, his heartbreak slowly healing.

Finally, at university, Kousuke put a lot of effort into trying to get back from the bottom. He didn't have a lot of ambition, but he wanted to make his parents happy.

On his way to university, Kousuke, though not very smart, manages to get into a top university with effort and hard work. He arrived at the classroom. Not many had arrived, but he couldn't care less about others. He was focused on studying.

His worst personality hasn't gone yet, but he is hiding and suppressing his awful personality so he won't attract others.

At the library, Kousuke isn't a nerd, but he loves the quiet and peaceful atmosphere, but today the library felt empty. Kousuke shrugged the weird feeling he had.

Kousuke was trying to find a book that intrigued him, but when he wanted to pick a book from the shelf, he heard a book falling near him. He tried to search for the source of the sound, he then spotted a black old book. It was not very dirty but worn out. Kousuke is very curious about the topic of the old book.

He opens it but only finds a blank black piece of paper; he flips it again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again, Until he found a name, the color of the name was blood crimson.

Kousuke: "Mordred Pendragon?"

Kousuke has known Mordred Pendragon since he first saw Fate/Apocrypha. He only thought of Mordred as someone who had a lot in common with him.

He flips again, but this time it is not a blank paper but a name that is written, Kousuke Itoshi. He thought that this was weird, but before he could say anything, his head became dizzy.

He collapsed backward, and he fainted.

Kousuke's unconscious body was then sucked by the black old book. Kousuke vanished from where he was lying. The black old book suddenly perished, leaving no trace behind, as if the book never existed in the first place.

Everything is pitch black or void... Kousuke wakes up in a black void where he can't hear anything, move around, feel anything, make any sound, or see anything. The strange feeling Kousuke is having is indescribable... He feels like he died... It's made Kousuke panic a little bit, but he soon calms himself down. There is no way Kousuke can think if he is truly dead.

However, he's worried if he disappears into nowhere, it will make his parents worried if something happens to him.

Even though he couldn't move around, he tried to find a way out; he couldn't just stay still in this void, but that's all useless; he couldn't do anything.

He wanted to scream because of the hopelessness he was feeling; he wanted someone to reach out to him and save him.

His wish was granted.

A light tunnel appears in front of him, and soon his hand materializes. He tried to grab the light. He wanted to escape from this void.

He felt the light getting smaller; he wanted to shout, but there was no sound. His determination to get out of this void is growing stronger.

'Don't go... REACH!'

He feels something pushing him to reach the light. Finally, he grabs the light, and suddenly the light engulfs him.

The feeling is warm and comfortable, and he feels like he wants to sleep now.

Kousuke's mind then fell to sleep.

Kousuke's POV:

Life is normal... No one will have a second chance. However, no one can prove that someone will not have a second chance. Life is mysterious.

My life is the happiest that I can wish for; a happy family, good talent, but of course, I don't ignore the worst part of my life. I know my personality is shitty, and I don't even bother to change it.

I want to change, but it's always been a part of me. If power, then someone can change anytime, but personality isn't as easy as getting a power-up.

But when my sister died, my heartache was so bad that I thought that I was going to die for a moment. The truth is I almost think of suicide. My sister was my idol and my hope. However, that collapsed as my sister died. I lost her and sometimes I think it was better for me to die. Why am I still living? I'm a shy person, so why? My sister is a kind person. She deserves better than to die at a young age.

That's when I realized... Life is unfair; there are murderers that can roam free, and kind people die without getting the rewards they deserve for living a kind life.

Bad people slander kind people, and the world won't realize it. The truth is being hidden, and the lies are spreading everywhere.

However, even if I'm the worst, I don't want to die yet. I'm scared. I want to live my second chance as a kind person, so I'm trying my best to get out of the void. I know I'm selfish, but I couldn't care less about other opinions. I wanted to live.

* * *

Where am I? If I remember correctly, I am in a void, but there is no way I can see color if I'm in a void... I can see!

But why is my vision very blurry? The sound of my surroundings is very loud. I feel like I'm getting burned.

I think I'm going to cry... I can't control my own tears... Shit! This is very humiliating. I'm a man, but I cry. Damn it!

This is going to be a long journey in the ass.

-To Be Continued

Not my best way to start a prologue but don't care. I plan to make Kousuke similar to Mordred but not entirely the same.

Reminder that this will be Alternate Universe, there will be some great changes as history will be altered and Fate Mechanic won't exist.

Mordred won't be homunculus, she will be a human.
