Red Flower of the Night

She’s an immortal who had lived for more than 1000 years, and within that long time of living, she had experienced everything that a human could experience. One of which that had made her heart close under the sweet younger sister façade she always have, the biggest regret she swore that she shouldn’t have done but she never had considered a mistake; falling in love. To be alive for more than a millennium would sound cool and exciting, but not until you find yourself losing the people whom you love one by one, as you continue to exist through time. She had stepped foot and lived in every single city and town that exists in every country and continent of the world, with an unparalleled knowledge developed and improved through time, she could easily pass any type of exam to have any profession she’d like. Her immortality had granted her the privilege she had used to dream of before waking up and finding everyone she love to grow old and die while she’s still standing through the passing of time. The pain had taught her distance, to get close and to get detached as easy as she could count in each existing language, but this doesn’t mean she no longer cared about other people, it’s just that she had developed a defense mechanism to detach as soon as she knew they‘d be dying. Stepping into a world where ability and experience matter, with light focused on their every move and the prying eyes of the viewers, how long could she last after turning her back from the privileges she’s been used to having? In face of the unfamiliar struggles and the recurring emotion where a certain regret of hers has rooted, how far can her defense mechanism protect her? Can she step forward or will she resort to burning bridges once again? “To love is to learn to accept that you can’t run away forever. To love is to be free and brave enough to fight your fears.”

Their Perspectives

"We'll claim the Hydra's Lair with probably only two or three opponents alive on the map, either they camp in front of Pentagram's base, but if they did camp outside of Pentagram's base, they'll have to destroy the defense towers first because it's going to give away their position otherwise," Key replied

"How about you, El, what do you think?" Bright asked El

"I think they'll head back to base and refill their blood first, then Rasheed and Quant would probably head to attack the final defense tower in front of Pentagram while Rio, Alexei, and Opal destroy the other defense towers in every lane," El answered

"I'm thinking something similar to both of your thoughts," Bright said and Key turned to him, blinking as if she's processing and analyzing what he meant

"Oh, then, you think that the low-blooded Alexei and Rio would probably meet with the newly resurrected Opal in the base, while the captain and Quant destroy the final outer defense tower so they can camp there while waiting for Alexei, Rio, and Opal to destroy the remaining lane defense towers," Key speculated and Bright nodded

"Yeah, that's what I was thinking," Bright agreed and Key turned her eyes back to the screen

They continued to watch, and just as Key had guessed that Bright was thinking, Alexei's Luxy and Rio's Chasseur did run back to the base but not without Luxy receiving damage from the opposing Forward's Luccicare just before it was executed by Rasheed's Bellum.

Both members are at risk, one more hit and they'll both be drained of their blood, as for Rasheed's Bellum and Quant's Clypeus, the two of them have been executing and taking out the remaining opponents on the map, well those that are outside of the Pentagram's base that is.

"You're both good at guessing what they'll be doing next, huh," Dewy commented when Rasheed and Quant did head to the final defense tower while the other three did disperse and start destroying the opponent's remaining lane defense towers

"Not they, Dewy, I was only guessing what the Captain would be ordering them to do in the situation, and it turns out that I guessed correctly," Key said with a smile and El chuckled because of her answers

"For someone who gets on the captain's nerves quite frequently, you're great at looking at things from his perspective, huh?" El kidded and Key glared at him in a kidding manner

"Well, you're the one who said to view things in our teammate's perspective, it just happens that he's the teammate I can analyze the most," Key said before looking back at the match

"What were you two doing outside for so long though?" Dewy asked them and Key looked at him

"He gave me a crash course on the concept of teamwork," Key replied with a smile

"And, what did you learn?" Dewy asked, drawn to the outcome of their 'crash course'

"In working as a team, I need to be aware of my actions along with the actions of my teammates," Key replied and Bright couldn't help but smile while his eyes are still on the match

"So, I learned that it's not just about trust, it's also about having enough trust to lean and rely on your team… and well… trust them enough to adjust to their plan and help," Key added, getting quite guilty while speaking, which made her lower her head

"What did you realize from those?" Dewy asked, also smiling because of her answer

"Hmm, since our match against the DR, I didn't communicate with everyone on what to do with the information that I know… I didn't rely on everyone to help solve the problem even though it involved the whole team… so we lost." Key replied and the three guys with her couldn't help but smile because it seems that she's learning little by little

"Also… he already taught me… I just didn't realize that he was trying to teach me back then…" Key trailed off and started moving her hand when she thought of the conversation she had with Rasheed

"And then, I did it again with… with the deal stuff…" she was getting guiltier while speaking because she's reflecting on her actions

She looked up when she felt a hand gently patting her head; she met Bright's smiling face, as he was the one who patted her head.

Key was a bit taken aback and surprised but it made her feel warm inside.

"As your coach, I am proud of your development, Kashmiri," Bright said and Key smiled

"Congratulations," Dewy and El teased her making Key smile while shaking her head sheepishly

There was no denying that in terms of gaming skill, Key was already on par with – actually, no, she is already in the World Ranking where only the best players of the world are qualified, which meant that she's already better than – everyone in the team.

But then again, in terms of teamwork and skills in working with a team, Kashmiri is still at the point where she has to learn how to act with consideration to other people, and her teammates' thoughts.

{"Elvis, I think everyone who'd be facing JLNC should take care because as we can see from their recent matches both their starting players and substitutes are great."} Gino Morin commented after Alexei, Rio, and Opal started attacking the inner defense tower while Rasheed and Quant ran back to the base to have their blood refilled

"It's interesting," Dewy said

"That seems familiar for some reason," El commented with a playful smile

"You saw that gameplay somewhere, El?" Bright asked him

"Don't you recognize that, Key?" El asked and Key's brows furrowed before her eyes widened and she chuckled in the realization

"Yeah, only that they were Intrepidus-Chikara back then," she replied

"Oh, was it your strategy against Flack?" Bright asked and Key sheepishly nodded

"Oh, he probably remembered your strategies," Dewy commented and Key looked at him a bit puzzled

"We watched your games against them, Key, all of it because they used it as evidence that they weren't playing with you but the rest of the team," Dewy explained and Key's eyes widened

"Oh, I see," she said, and then she recalled that she asked TL to send the copy of the non-disclosure agreement today

After recalling her order to TL, she also recalled that she asked Chela to keep the original copy of her agreement with Flack, then TL most probably sent a soft copy of all her non-disclosure agreements to Chela as well, as that is the normal procedure with all her current documents and files.

Key can already sense a headache coming at the thought of that as her sister will most probably insist to pursue the matter, not that they needed the money but Kitten might just agree with Chela about pursuing the matter with the breach of contract and reason out that the Troublemakers deserve to receive the fruit of their hard work.

As if she had just jinxed herself by thinking about the matter and the two, she received a call from Chela and a message from Kitten simultaneously.

Key mentally prepared herself, not that she's sure Chela would win the topic but she needs to prepare herself for her sister's long scolding and complaints.

"Hello, Chela," Key said cheerfully after excusing herself out of the resting area

[Do you have any plan on telling me that the Dominant Rooks breached their contracts with you?] Chela asked and Key pursed her lips to stop herself from grimacing

"Well, it's not that I have no plan on informing you, sister, it's just that I've been quite busy." Key replied, without any hint of nervousness or lying

[Busy, Chantel, even when you've been banned from the game? I don't think so, sister,] Chela said and Key immediately knew that she was informed by Kitten, the latter must've been bothered by the thought of her pulling a stunt from years ago

"From your choice of words, what do you intend to do, Chela?" Key asked, getting straight to the point as there is no more point in beating around the bushes

"Would you like to pursue the matter? Grandfather will definitely not be pleased to know that you're involved in one of my mischiefs," Key added and she didn't receive a reply from the other line

"Sort your thoughts, and I guess discuss with Kitten about what you would be doing, sister, but please keep in mind that I'm still sorting some things here so I might not be able to give much opinion on the matter. They'd understand the delay," she added before she hung up the call

"What's happening, did we win?" Key asked as she entered the resting area

"Pentagram's off-laner and forward are giving them a hard time." El replied and Key saw that the opponent's Fiore is treating Opal as if his shinigami were his personal blood refill

"I think we have you to blame for that strategy, Key," El kidded and Key kiddingly pushed El's arm, to which he replied with a chuckle

"Chasseur's second skill can beat Fiore at this rate, though I'm wondering why he's using Opal when he's in his base," Key pointed out
