69 I Am Jealous?

Outside the university, Ezen was waiting for Anastasia holding the umbrella. The rain was mostly gone now but still tiny drops of rain were still falling.

It has been more than 10 minutes. Why is Anastasia not here yet? He thought to himself. Did something happen to her while coming here? He started to get worried.

He was about to go find her. When suddenly, she came in front of him.

Because of being on her phone, she was not looking carefully at her surroundings. She just kept walking while staring at her phone.

Because of being busy with the phone, she walked past Ezen, without giving him a single glance.

Ezen was very hurt by that. How could she not see him? He turned around to say something to her when accidently, their arms touched each other.

When the touch happened, they both felt an electric current inside them. They groaned with pain because of it. What the hell happened just now?

Anastasia stopped walking and noticed her hand slowly turning blue. She got upset by looking at it. What type of reaction is this?

She got very annoyed. First, she was already late and now someone was purposely pranking her with this current. She won't let this person go without a lecture.

Anastasia turned around to look at the person who did this. When she looked at him, she was shocked. A tall handsome man was standing in front of her. 

She opened her mouth to say something but no words came out from it. She was too intimidated by staring at his hazel-yellowish looking eye colour.

Ezen waited for her to speak something but she didn't utter a single word. Does she really not recognise him? Looks like he needs to introduce himself again.

"Actually I..." Before he could tell her it was him. Anastasia ran inside the university gate awkwardly. Maybe she was really scared of talking to him. Ezen thought. Was getting back into his original body that bad idea? Is he so ugly that she ran away?

Anastasia huffed like crazy when she entered her classroom. She sat on her bench while still thinking about what happened back then. What the hell was wrong with her? Why did she ran like that? It was so freaking awkward. She facepalmed her head.

Her classmate Scarlet chuckled while seeing her like this. "What happened class prez? Why do you look so sick?" She came forward to sit with her.

"No jokes scarlet. My heart feels like it is going to burst out." She touched her heart which was beating fast.

"Oh my god! Really? Let me check." Scarlet grabbed her Stethoscope and begin to check her heartbeat. "It's bad. You should rest a bit."

"No. I am fine. It just... I got too overwhelmed with everything." She reassured her. "I don't need rest."

The students who were sitting behind them barged into the conversation. "So class president... if you are feeling sick. Can you please tell Mr young to cancel this lecture? We have already done it many times."

"Yeah." The other student spoke up. "You are his favourite student. He will definitely listen to you. Maybe we can even get a free period."

"Oh really?" Professor Young came from behind and looked at the students who were taking. "If you two want, you can bunk the lecture and enjoy in the principal's cabin. How about that?" He taunted.

The two boys who were so relaxed before turned into scardy cats. When did the professor came? They quickly opened their books and said smiling. "No need sir. We are very interested in the lecture. Can we start?"

Anastasia and Scarlet laughed by seeing their sudden changed behaviour in front of the professor.

Mr Young looked towards Anastasia and asked about her health. Her face looked very pale. "If you feel more sick you should directly go to the pharmacy room." He advised. "If a doctor don't take care of themselves then how will they take care of your patient? Always remember that. Alright?"

"Yes, professor. I will remember that." Anastasia smiled.

Professor Young went back towards the whiteboard and started teaching.

The 30 minutes lecture went alright. When the bell rang, the students cried happy tears. They were very tired copying the notes. Thankfully everything is over.

"Don't forget to do the homework I gave." Mr Young closed his book and told everyone to leave and join their other class. "Class is dismissed." When he said that, the students ran out of the class.

"Hahaha.." Scarlet laughed while walking through the corridor. "Did you see their faces when the professor came? It was funny."

"Yeah." Anastasia glanced at her clock and noticed that they only had 5 minutes before the next lecture started.

She hurriedly tried to get there but someone stopped her in the middle. It was the head girl of the university. She had a message for her.

"The principal is calling you. Go there fast."

"What? Me?" Anastasia was confused. Why was he calling her? What might have happened?

Scarlet looked at her and whispered something in her ear. "What happened? Did you break any kind of rule? Why is he calling you?"

"I don't know." Anastasia tried to ask the head girl about why the principal was calling her, but even she had no idea why he was calling.

"Alright then. See you in the next class." Scarlet hugged her while departing. "All the best." Saying that, she left. Leaving her alone.

Now who knows what will happen? Why was the principal calling her? Anastasia started to get scared. Is she in trouble? Thinking this, she headed towards his cabin.

*knock knock*

"May I come in sir?" Anastasia asked while standing outside the cabin. She looked around and saw the principal sitting on his chair while talking to someone. She could only see the person's back.

"Oh! Please come inside Miss De Rossi." The principal smiled and called her in. "Actually I want you to meet someone." He tried to introduce her to the person. "Meet Ezen Dufort. He is a new student in our university. You have to take care of him."

"What!?" So the person she met earlier was Ezen? She glanced at his fingers and noticed him wearing the ruby ring. How could she miss this? She was so lost in staring at his face that she forgot to speak.

Ezen smirked while seeing her like this. She was too late to find it out.

"So..."  The Principal clasped his hand. "Will you show him around?"

"No." Anastasia's answer made him stunned. "I mean... I have a class to attend. How can I show him around?"

Principal: "Ohh! No worries. You can take him

with you in your lecture. I already informed your teacher about the new student." He glanced at Ezen. "I hope you don't mind going with her Mr Dufort." He smiled.

"Sure. I don't mind." Ezen smiled and looked at Anastasia. "I just hope Miss de Rossi won't find me a burden."

Find him a burden? Why would she feel that? She knew he was teasing her. "Not at all Mr Dufort. I just hate being late. If you don't mind can we leave?"

The principal agreed. "Yeah, you should get going. Take care of him. Okay? We need more toppers like you guys."

You guys? She glanced at Ezen. He is a topper too? We will see about that. Anastasia smiled and told him to leave first so she can keep an eye on him. After he went outside, she followed him.

While walking down the corridor, Anastasia glanced at Ezen and stared at his new appearance. So is this what he looked like? She thought.

"Stop checking me out and say something."

"What?" She was caught off guard. "Checking you what? Why would I do that?"

"Yeah sorry. My bad thinking that way." He looked at her and said. "Are you not going to ask me why I am here?" He expected her to bombard him with questions. But so far she didn't say anything.

"Well... yes I am. I am very curious. Why was the principal kissing your ass? What did you do to him?" The principal was not the type of person to behave like that.

"Actually I just gave him extra cash to get me in the university. You know how people wag their tails behind money nowadays." It was very easy task for him.

"Oh. So you have a dream to become a doctor?" Anastasia laughed. "Didn't expected that."

"Not at all. I didn't came here for study. I came for you." He didn't realised but the way he said it seemed different.

"Me?" Anastasia raised her eyebrows. "Why me? You left your work just to see me?"

"Well.. yeah. You don't know what those people are planning. Lilith's cult members are after you." Who knows what they will do to her?

"So? What's new in that?" She was not even surprised. "Don't worry about me. I can protect myself." Now that she got her powers back, she was not scared anymore.

"Oh really?" Ezen was still doubtful about it. "Then tell me, what spell will you use if someone attacked you?"

"Uhh... I'll use..." She tried to remember but found it hard to pronounce the word. She soon gave up. "Why does it matter anyway? Not like they are going to attack me at the university. Why would they expose themselves in-front of all students?"

"You don't know what they are thinking. If they want, they can do anything. What if the person you trust the most turned out to be a traitor? You know what happened last time. Right?"

Anastasia remembered the incident that happened with Poppy. In fact, that's true. She doesn't want to admit it but sometimes she gets weak. How is she going to deal with those cult members when she herself is a newbie in the magic world? She needs his help until she learns everything.

"Fine." Anastasia looked at him and nodded. "I'll

be careful about that. But right now, the most important thing to do is attend the class." If they don't reach in time then Professor Mina will eat them alive.

"Alright then, let's go."

(In the classroom)

"So students, today we are going to do practical." Miss Mina looked at the empty seat beside Scarlet. "Is Anastasia absent today?" She asked.

"No miss. The principal called her in his office, that's why she is not here."

"Ohh." Maybe it's about the new student. Miss Mina thought. "Okay, I am going to sign you guys in a group so you..."

"May I come in miss?" Anastasia asked while standing at the door.

"Sure." Professor Mina looked at Ezen. "You might be new student? Please come inside."

When he entered the classroom, all ladies in there kept staring at him. It's rare seeing good looking guys in med school. How did he come here? And why is he with Anastasia?

Miss Mina: "I heard you transferred from another state. I hope you completed your 2nd-year med school education. You have to perform lot of practical operations here." She laughed and said.

"Don't worry about it. I am really good at using knives." Ezen said while looking at Anastasia.

The class thought he meant he was good at doing operations, but only Anastasia knew what he meant by that."

"That's good." Miss Mina laughed. "Please go take your seats."

Ezen was confused about where to sit when a girl helped him. "Sit there. The place is empty." She said pointing at the chair beside her.

"No, it's okay. I..." Before he could deny her, Anastasia quickly ran and sat in that place.

"Sorry. It's booked now." She grinned innocently. "Take another seat, Mr Dufort."

"Anastasia!" Veronica sighed. She lost the chance to sit with him. But she was not the person to give up easily. She told the person next to her to go behind. As he went, she again shooted her shot. "Please."

Anastasia rolled her eyes while looking at her tricks. What happened to Veronica suddenly? Why is she behaving like that? She already has a boyfriend.

Hopefully, Ezen won't fall into her trap.

"Okay." Not like he cares where he sits. Before he was hesitant to sit beside a stranger, but looking at Anastasia's annoyed face he was having fun.

"So you are new here?" Veronica asked. "If you need anything, you can ask me. I am really good at studies. I can provide you notes."

"Good at studies? My foot." Anastasia mumbled under her breath. She usually asks notes from her after lectures and now she is bluntly lying. Seeing Ezen talking with her, Anastasia's blood was boiling.

Why is that? Is she jealous? No, it can't be. Why would she be jealous? Is it because she don't like Veronica?

While she was thinking about this, Professor Mina's voice brought her back. "So students... Here is a bowl of chits. Choose one of these and select your partner." She said while mixing the chits.

Few students stood up and took the chits from the bowl one by one. The people who picked their own name got another chance. 2 people got were assigned in each group.

Anastasia glanced at her chit and became disappointed.

This was not the plan. She saw Veronica running towards Ezen smiling brightly. Looks like she got his name.

Now what is she supposed to do?
