True Power of An Old Monster

Mo Guan slanted a glance at Luo Wei and nodded in affirmation. He lifted his hands and from inside of his sleeves, innumerable black centipedes, spiders, and other poisonous insects burst out, crept rapidly toward Jiang Chen Lu.

Looking at the sight of thousands poisonous insects attacking him, Jiang Chen Lu didn't waver. He stood still without showing any signs that he wanted to dodge.

"Turns out to be a Gu master. Such a young age but has a remarkable talent. Interesting.", he said.

Luo Wei didn't have an intention to see his companion to fight alone and swiftly shoot his black daggers. Each of them emitted a faint red glow.

One of Jiang Chen Lu's brows twitched. This time he seemed to be a little bit surprised. "Daggers of dark flame. Good."

The corner of Mo Guan's lips hooked up slightly. Considering his progress over years, though he might not be able to defeat this middle-aged man before him, but he is convinced that at least he can successfully escape.

In contrary, Luo Wei didn't have the slightest confidence in his heart as layer of cold sweat had started to form on his forehead.

This old monster. He didn't get his tittle because of nothing!

As his instinct had been honed for so many years, even since he was just a little kid, he could measure the depth of the power of all his opponents. Something less possessed by Mo Guan. Therefore right now, he could tell that the gap of power between them and the old monster was terrifyingly big! If he really wanted to kill both of them, it would be as easy as flicking a speck of dust on top of his shoes.

As if he could feel the youngster's nervousness, Jiang Chen Lu shifted his gaze to Luo Wei. Surprisingly, his seems-to-be-paralyze facial muscle moved a bit and a glow of amusement flashed on both of his eyes. If someone didn't really know him, they would see an illusion that the man is smiling!

As his eyes met the middle-aged man's, Luo Wei's inner alarm instantly blared. His face turned aghast and subconsciously leapt backward several steps.

"Guan'er, be careful!", he shouted in fear.

The old monster would make his move!

Mo Guan was taken aback and turned his head toward Luo Wei.

Alhough found that 'playing' with both high-potential youngsters in front of him were very amusing, Jiang Chen Lu didn't intent to make it easy for them at all. He made a circular hand movement. In solemn and graceful manner.

The next moments, the space in front of him cracked. A small black hole slowly appeared. It became bigger bit by bit.

Luo Wei and Mo Guan suddenly felt a strong suction force caused by the black hole. Both of them couldn't believe of what they saw at that time.

All the poisonous insects along with the black daggers were completely sucked into the black hole!

And strangely, although the suction force was powerful, it didn't suck other things inside the hall. Only those insects and daggers.

"Wha-what is that?", Mo Guan stammered in disbelief. His eyes widden and both of his hands clenched tightly.

The man before him didn't hurt the slightest bit! Even not a single drop of sweat dripped!

Luo Wei couldn't manage to push any voice out of his throat. He breath heavily as he looked at Mo Guan helplessly. He knew right from the beginning: Neither he or Mo Guan could be Jiang Chen Lu's opponent.

As he completely 'cleaned the mess', Jiang Chen Lu slightly waved his hand. The black hole slowly closed before it disappeared without a trace, as if nothing ever happened in the first place. He swept his gaze toward them.

Mo Guan hadn't gotten his composure back yet and Luo Wei had already lost his hope. His shoulders dropped and the light on his eyes dimmed.

No sound could be heard inside the hall. Only their own breath and pounding heartbeat.

"Is that all what you've got? No longer have any moves inside of your sleeves?", Jiang Chen Lu said ridiculingly. "For a fearless and full of confidence young man, both of you are too quick to give up. Too bad. I thought that both of you can entertain me for a little bit more. Looks like I thought too highly about you."

Seemed to be disappointed, Jiang Chen Lu flipped his right palm. A faint greenish glow appeared.

"Then, this is my turn.", he stated coldly.

While speaking, he threw it to the center of the hall, not too far from Mo Guan and Luo Wei. The greenish glow floated slowly then it stopped right before them.

Luo Wei was the first who recovered. He leapt forward, shielding Mo Guan behind him.

"Guan'er, watch out!", he pulled out a bone bowl from inside his robe.

"I'll distract him. You hurry up and run! Don't look back!"

Luo Wei bit his thump hardly, tore the flesh and let it bleed. He dropped quite amount of the blood into the bowl.

Not long after, there was a faint yellowish light came out from inside it and all the blood suddenly disappeared.

Mo Guan watched as Luo Wei held the bowl in front of his chest.

"Devil artefact? Ah Wei, what are you doing? Stop! Do you want to die?", Mo Guan shouted in anger.

He tried to snatch the bowl from Luo Wei's grasp. As a disciple of dark cultivation sect, he knew very well what a devil artefact is. It consumed the life force of its user everytime it was used.

Luo Wei moved slightly to dodge his hand.

"We don't have any other choices.", he muttered as he gritted his teeth. His face slowly lost its color. "He didn't intend to let us go. I won't let him to hurt you! Guan'er, please run!"

Jiang Chen Lu's eyelids twitched slightly. Seeing their close interaction, he seemed to think about something. Meanwhile, the greenish glow turned more vivid and dense. Its size also became bigger many folds from original.

"Both of you are close friend. Don't worry I will not kill you.", Mo Guan and Luo Wei heard him spoke. "As long as I still have use of you."

Jiang Chen Lu waved his right hand. Next moments, they saw the greenish glow solidified into a shape of a creatue.

A blood red tiger with a pair of wings and the spikes of porcupine on top of its back.

A Qiongqi.
