RECORD OF THE GRIM REAPER

The mysteries of the Grim Reaper life before he wandered around the universe guiding souls. As Chàros woke from a dream he realised that the world is full of mysteries as he barely had any memories of his past. Note from author: I'm just writing what I want and wasn't good at it, I'm not good at summarising as well but this is a story that has been bugging me so I'll be writing this in my free time so feel free to read or extract a story from it. It might bring some trouble in understanding the story. But like any other story it will be explained over time.

PART 3

"Stop right there!" Two guards who look like regular humans stopped us. How can one differentiate them from humans is through their eyes. While humans have blue, black or brown eyes normally, these dragon-born have red natural eyes.

"..." I showed them a scroll that contains a contract of the Mission.

Both of them took a glance at it.

"Wait here!" One of them took the scroll from my hand and ran inside the village. Rushing with full speed he disappeared in the blink of an eye.

"He'll be right back. While he's gone may I have a look at your adventure pass?" He said. "Also your rank plate." He said as I handed him my adventure pass I'd.

"..." I gesture my head telling them to show their adventurer plate.

When we signed up for the quest, Schylla made us a temporary adventure plate giving us an S-ranked mythic plate.

"So, is there anything?" I asked as he checked them all.

We took back our rank plate and waited for the other guard to return.

"When is your friend coming back?" I asked.

"I'm not sure but he's meeting our chief who lives in one of those caves far away in the mountain. But he'll be here soon."

It's been five minutes but he hasn't returned. It'd be normal if they were humans but knowing their speed and it's an emergency. I wonder why he's taking so long?

"Something's coming!" Chris said as he pointed towards the sky.

A tiny figure came flying towards us.

"He's almost here." The guard said.

After a few seconds, a dragon was above us which slowly landed. On the top was a guy in his 30s. He got down and whispered something to the guard. The dragon turned into the guard before.

"Sorry, did I make you wait long?" He asked us.

A man with long spiky hair and traditional clothes that reaches the ground which looks like it's a pain to even wear it.

"No, it's an honor to meet you, Chief." I said.

While I didn't bow, Chris and Draken bow down to show him respect.

"I see, well it's an honor to have you." He said. " Before we get into the problem, let me escort you around the town. We are currently holding a feast." He said.

*Clap*

With a clap from his hands the guard opened the huge gate which seems to be heavily made as they struggled a bit.

Although the walls aren't that high this wall is made to prevent foreign beings out.

As the gate opened, the first thing that came to my mind was 'Praise' because... people usually dance for their gods when they're happy.

"Wow!" Chris eyes sparkle as the reflection of these fireworks were caught in his eyes.

"It's a lot more beautiful than I remembered." Draken said as he was taken back to his memories.

So this is what the explosion was about when we were watching it from afar.

"Please follow me." The chief said because Chris and Draken were occupied with the shops and activities happening around the town.

"S-sorry." Both of them apologize and snap back.

"Where are we heading?" I asked.

"My office of course." He said. "I mean, you're here because of the request, aren't you?" He asked.

"..."

"What! Don't look at me like that. The guard told me." He said.

Chris and Draken were shocked that he knew which is obvious.

"Oh, I thought you were spying on us." Chris smiles awkwardly.

"Why would I do something like that?" The chief laughed.

Following his laughter, Chris also laughed probably because he felt guilty.

"By the way..."

"Hmm..."

"How far is your office?" Chris asked.

"About two more towns ahead. Why?" The chief said.

"Just asking."

"Seriously!" Draken said in shock. " I mean aren't you the chief of this town?" He asked.

"Chief? We don't have such a thing. I'm the King of this Kingdom and a supposed next Dragon God." He said. "What's wrong?" He asked as Chris almost rotted out.

"I think he's in a spiritual shock because it's the first time he met a king. Especially the King of the dragon-born who is also qualified to become the next Dragon God." Draken said.

"You..." He called out to Chris.

"Huh! Me!?" Chris asked.

"Yes, you... What's your name?" He asked.

"U-umm... I-its Chris."

"I see... Well nice to meet you Chris. Mine's Shenor."

"Nice to meet you!" Chris shook his hand which was extended towards him

" What about you two?" He asked.

"I'm Draken. Nice to meet you."  Draken shook his hands.

"Chàros." I said and shook his hand.

Isn't it a bit late for introduction?

"Well then now that we know each other, I hope to work with you in the future." He said.

"So do I." Chris said excitedly.

For some reason Chris seems a bit hyper.

Draken and I nodded in response to his words.

"Well then, let's teleport since this is gonna take us a lot of time from just walking. We should be safe as much time as possible, Right!" Shenor said.

"Teleport? Really!? Chàros can also do the same." Chris said without hesitation.

Where did ' you can trust me' go?

"Yeah! He used my memory to teleport and help us get here in time." Draken added to his words.

These two...

"Is that true?" Shenor asked.

"..."

I nodded in agreement because I don't want to waste time trying to convince him that it's not. It's just too much work for nothing.

"Didn't you guys say that you won't tell anyone." I stared at both of them.

"Gah!" Both of them were in shock. " I completely forgot. Sorry." Chris said. Draken also followed his actions to show that they felt bad.

"Now...now... It's okay to forget things sometimes." Shenor said.

"Right!" Chris instantly changed his expression. So is Draken.

Where did their sorry go?

"Anyway, gather around me. I'll teleport us out of here." Shenor said and without any sign or words, A light came from below blinding our view of the outside and then a few second later. We were inside a room full of curvings and expensive furniture.
