Will's coughing fit interrupted Raven's words, causing him to pause.

Will fixed a sharp gaze on the two before him.

"Mom agreed to it. Also, we're not blood related," Raven said, waving his two fingers.

Will's expression froze, and he looked like he had seen a ghost. Not blood related? What does he mean?

"What do you mean by not blood related?"

Raven's lips curl downwards in a frown as he takes in the information.

Does he not know that he's adopted?

"Don't you know? I'm adopted."

Will's eyes grew dull as he opened and closed his mouth, unable to find any words.

Raven understood. It was evident that he was unaware that he was adopted.

But then another question arises. Why does Mia know?

Raven shifted his gaze towards Mia, and their eyes met.

As she looked at him watching her, Mia looked up at the sky and whistled a tune she had learned as a child.

Raven shook his head, his mind already racing with questions he planned on asking her later.

As they made their way to the store, the only sound was their footsteps on the pavement.

Will said his goodbyes and left once they were done shopping.

"I'm going to work, so you two walk back alone."

Raven and Mia watched as Will hopped into a yellow taxi and disappeared down the street.

"He's not mad at us, right?" Mia asked.

With a sigh, Raven shook his head and turned away.

"He just got hit by two large pieces of information. My adoption, and our relationship."

Mia nodded her head, but her mind was preoccupied with thoughts of her brother's wellbeing.

"Don't worry about it. Will is like our father. Just give him some time and he'll come confront us when he's ready."

Mia let out a small "Hmm" and grabbed Raven's hand and started walking.

She knows her brother. He's the type who likes to use their heads 24/7 and figure things out on his own.

With beaming smiles, they walked home, oblivious to the fact that they were being observed by two pairs of eyes.

"Alexa, isn't that Mia?" a girl said, looking at Mia across the street.

The girl on the side nodded. "That's indeed Mia, Lora."

"But look at her hands." Lora said.

Seeing Mia's hands clamped tightly around the ravens, Alexa's interest was piqued, and she reached for her phone.

The sound of a shutter sounded and Alexa put away her phone.

"I think Nora would like these pictures." Alexa said with a laugh.

Lora nodded, feeling sorry for Mia, but also acknowledging that it was her fault for being too open to her own relationship with her brother.

Raven and Mia didn't know that someone took pictures of them secretly.

Even if they did, they wouldn't care.

Little did they know, these pictures would spread like wildfire throughout the school.
