20 Liu Family Status

Liu Liyu found herself in her Beijing office, facing a formidable challenge. The Liu family's reputation and financial standing had taken a significant hit, largely due to the actions of her mother, Liu Yuexin, who supported China's prominent figure, Xiao Tian.

The Liu family had been a major player in China's business world for generations, with their reputation and social standing being of utmost importance. However, recent times had seen a decline in their influence and respect due to Liu Yuexin's poor decision-making and questionable associations.

Liu Liyu contemplated how to restore the Liu family's reputation and financial stability in China. She knew that decisive and strategic steps needed to be taken. Despite the daunting nature of her task, she was willing to do whatever it took to salvage her family's fortune and find a solution to their precarious financial situation in China.

Liu Liyu focused on the task at hand, resolute in her commitment to securing her family's well-being. She understood that the road ahead would not be easy, but she was prepared to face the challenges head-on.

As she pondered potential solutions for her family's predicament, her secretary, Wei Li, entered her office. Just as she was about to question his entrance without prior notice, a man arrogantly brushed Wei Li aside and entered her office.

This man was Xiao Tian, a prominent figure in China's story, where Liu Chen played the role of a villain. Xiao Tian didn't utter a word; he simply sauntered into Liu Liyu's office and nonchalantly seated himself on the office couch. His behavior implied that Liu Liyu's office was now his domain.

Liu Liyu felt uncomfortable with Xiao Tian's overbearing demeanor, but she fought to conceal her frustration. She was aware that her mother supported Xiao Tian, which put her in a challenging position.

Xiao Tian proceeded to present his proposal with an imperious tone, "Liu Liyu, I am confident that you could become a valuable ally in my expanding empire. I haven't come here to seek your cooperation; I demand your support for the projects I intend to involve you in."

Despite her inner anger at his arrogance, Liu Liyu remained composed. She knew that she had to tread carefully and calculate her moves. "Xiao Tian, I might consider your proposal, but I don't appreciate your approach. If you want us to collaborate, you need to show me respect."

Xiao Tian gave a sly smile. "I knew you were a discerning woman, Liu Liyu. I appreciate your candor, and I'm certain we can come to a mutually beneficial agreement."

Amidst the tension in the room, discussions continued regarding the potential collaboration, with Liu Liyu remaining cautious and resolute about safeguarding her family's interests and independence.

Following the lengthy meeting, Liu Liyu breathed a sigh of relief as she watched Xiao Tian depart from her office. While the proposal was tempting and lucrative, it also came with significant financial risks. Liu Liyu knew that making a hasty decision could be disastrous.

Since the disappearance of her younger brother, Liu Chen, the Liu family's workload had significantly increased, and Liu Liyu found herself burdened with an overwhelming array of responsibilities. In the past, they shared duties and managed their respective business domains. Liu Chen was responsible for the entertainment sector, while Liu Liyu focused on real estate, medicine, furniture, and other areas. She now realized the immense effort her brother had contributed to the family.

The rest of the day unfolded with Liu Liyu occupied by meetings, phone calls, and business decisions. Each crossroads presented her with decisions to make. Amid her hectic schedule, she couldn't help but ponder Xiao Tian's proposal. As the hours passed, the workload grew, and the responsibility of making critical decisions rested squarely on her shoulders.

Despite the demanding schedule, Liu Liyu's thoughts inevitably drifted to her missing brother, Liu Chen, and the mysterious circumstances surrounding his disappearance. Her worry and uncertainty persisted. Where could her beloved brother be? Why had he vanished so abruptly? Liu Liyu felt that her life was incomplete without Liu Chen's presence.

In a brief respite, Liu Liyu gazed out of her office window, overlooking the bustling city of Beijing. Despite being surrounded by success and power, she couldn't escape the loneliness that came with her position and the deep concern for her family. Important decisions loomed on the horizon, not only about Xiao Tian's proposal but also about her brother's whereabouts. She yearned for his return.

Balancing family responsibilities and her own thoughts, Liu Liyu endured another exhausting day. Uncertainty shrouded her, but she understood that crucial decisions were necessary to secure her family's future, even if it meant moving forward without her beloved brother, Liu Chen.

After a taxing day at work, Liu Liyu prepared to return home to rest. As she entered the Liu family villa, she noticed her mother, Liu Yuexin, was nowhere to be found, assuming she had gone out somewhere.

While ascending the stairs toward her room, she noticed that the lights in her brother Liu Chen's room were on. Thinking it was a mistake, one of her servants went to turn them off.

Liu Liyu, surprised and angered, discovered Xiao Tian reclining on her brother's bed. This room had remained closed and unused for so long, and the sight of the man she despised occupying it filled her with a sense of urgency.

"What are you doing here?" she demanded, attempting to remain composed and dignified in front of the man who had caused numerous problems.

Xiao Tian, unperturbed, sat up in bed and flashed a mocking smile at Liu Liyu. "I came to discuss business with you, Liu Liyu. I presume you are considering my proposal. There's no need for hostility."

Liu Liyu grew even more agitated by Xiao Tian's condescending attitude. It had been an exhausting day, and she had little patience to deal with him at that moment. "I have no interest in discussing anything with you in this room. Please leave immediately. This room is off-limits."

Xiao Tian rose from the bed with indifference and headed for the door. "Very well, Liu Liyu. But do consider my proposal. It's an opportunity you won't want to miss."

As Xiao Tian exited Liu Chen's room, Liu Liyu was left alone with her thoughts. She understood that she needed to make a significant decision regarding the Liu family's business, but the sense that someone had invaded her brother's personal space filled her with worry and discomfort. Liu Chen's room served as a constant reminder of her missing brother, and Xiao Tian's presence there had only worsened the situation. Uncertainty about her brother's fate and her family's future continued to weigh heavily on her, making her feel like she was caught in the midst of a storm.

Liu Liyu, consumed by anger, hurriedly sought out her mother, Liu Yuexin, in her room. Upon entering without prior notice or a knock, she found Liu Yuexin engrossed in her work. Startled by her daughter's abrupt entry, Liu Yuexin stood to face Liu Liyu, who was clearly agitated.

Before Liu Yuexin could utter a word, Liu Liyu admonished her indignantly, "How could you allow a scoundrel like Xiao Tian to enter Liu Chen's room, let alone lie on his bed? What were you thinking?"

Liu Yuexin, with a concerned expression, attempted to pacify her daughter. "Liu Liyu, please listen to me. He only came to discuss business, and..."

Liu Liyu interrupted her mother with a forceful gesture. "I don't want to hear excuses, Mother. You know how much I love Liu Chen and how his absence pains me every time I see his empty room. The thought of that man entering it is unbearable."

The two women faced each other in the room, tension hanging in the air. Liu Yuexin understood the depth of Liu Chen's importance to her daughter, but she also recognized the gravity of the decisions they had to make regarding the Liu family's future. In a calm and measured tone, she tried to convey her perspective. "I understand your feelings, Liu Liyu, but we must consider what is best for our family and our name. Xiao Tian's proposal may be our only chance to recover."

Liu Liyu took a deep breath before responding with determination, "I cannot bear the idea of that man becoming involved in our family affairs. We will do everything we can to recover without his assistance. But should you choose to proceed with his proposal, Mother, I will be forced to make my own decisions."

The mother-daughter conversation was far from over, and both realized that they held differing views on the direction the Liu family should take. Tensions continued to rise, and the family's future remained uncertain.

I apologize this weekend I thought I would do a massive update but I forgot that I had to do paperwork at the university, so I will only be able to publish the chapter until Monday afternoon.
