35 Chapter 35: Results

After a much needed meal, they finally decided to leave.

Melody left with Braxton, which is very predictable and I ended up getting trapped with a shameless man in the backseat of some fancy car that I don't care to know the details of.

Curse my miser habits of not wanting to waste money.

While Serenity was lost in her thoughts, Colton was eyeing her sitting next to him in the car with an annoyed expression on her face. She seemed to look even more adorable to him, there was a natural red blush on her puffed up cheeks making her look like like a small animal ready to pounce.

He couldn't resist the urge as he reach out with his hand and pinched her cheek, "How long do you plan on ignoring me for little beauty?"

Feeling her cheek pinched she grabbed his hand fiercely off her cheek and turned to glare at him, "For as long as I feel like it."

He really enjoyed her sassy little remarks, but he also noticed that without her even realizing she opened up more towards him and is able to show a side of her, others don't see. Cute.

"Oh, and how long will that be?" He said.

"Until you stop being so touchy." She randomly came up with a reason because she couldn't think of any excuse to ignore him.

Seeing her brows furrow as she pouted her lips making an excuse up, made him have to really resist the urge to kiss her.

Ignoring her excuse, he pulled her into his lap. "Do you dislike me touching you?"

After recovering from the momentary shock for a minute, that she really should just be used to by now, she seemed to hear his question and couldn't help but seriously think about it.

She didn't really hate him touching her, but it made her feel embarrassed and shy, which was a new feeling for her since she never really got to experience this kind of thing.

"I'm not used to it." She finally said.

"Well that can be changed." He said, after all he planned to spend the rest of their life's together.

Even though she didn't respond to him, he was happy that she didn't struggle and just sat in his lap obediently, he felt that they made some improvement today. He was satisfied.

When they pulled up to her house, she seemed to recall the position they were in and scrambled out of the car, and before running inside, she didn't forget to say thank you. God forbid he hold it against her later on for being rude.

Once inside she went to her grandpa's office and greeted him sweetly to let him know she was back which she could tell gave him a sense of relief.

She went back to her room and sat at her desk and finally was able to see the results of her investigation.

She was unsurprised to see Alex among the group of people, she had known that he and Arabella had met much earlier and entangled eachother in a scheme to get everything she had, and despite succeeding, it wasn't enough, they chased her to her death too.

Serenity's eyes went dark as she recalled what happened in her previous life again, but shook herself out of it.

Their was a couple other minor big shots in the footage, who she didn't really care about, they were probably being used as cannon fodder if anything went wrong.

What surprised her was the identity of the man who seemed to be the mastermind behind the charade that led to her rebirth.
