Chapter 1

Snakes of lightning flashed above the sky followed by the dreadful sound of the thunderclap . The rain continuesly poured down from the dark clouds hovering over the sky. In a small village near a wild forest , a small incomplete family living in a thatched roofed muddy house is currently facing a rough situation .

There's no food , money , warm clothes and quilts that could let them survive the rainy cold season . Harsh winds occasionally blow the roof of the thatched roof threathening to fly away with any more forceful wind . There's not even a light or fire burning in the fireplace that could make them feel more warm and comfortable. What is more difficult is that there's a water leaking down from the roof hitting and making the whole cramped house damp and wet .

A four years old baby could be seen hugging a teenager's waist with a weak body . The baby had long since stopped crying and could just reserve her strength from remaining still or motionless . The drowsy eyes of the baby slowly opened and looked up to stare at the sleeping boy leaning on the mud wall . The body of the boy was cold like a corpse . The baby doesn't know anything and got confused why the boy stopped breathing .

" Brother " a weak and hoarse milky voice called out to the boy .

The toddler then tapped her small hands to the boy's cheeks trying to wake the boy up . " Wake up , wakey wakey . "

The teenager remained sleeping . Rose , the toddler , stopped moving and laid her head on his lap . In the quiet house , the sound of her belly grumbling from hunger quietly resonated but Rose was already accostumed with this .

The appearance of the baby looked so poor and malnourished . Her cheeks that were supposed to be soft and plumpy were currently sunken due to malnutrition . Her lips are also chapped and dry causing the toddler to have difficulties in speaking.

A loud defeaning thunderclap suddenly rang out throughout the whole village causing the motionless baby to flinch from surprise . After that defeaning thunderclap passed , a small breathing came back from the nose of the dead teenager .

The small toddler moved and hugged her sleeping brother , trying to find security within his embrace .

The teenager then started moving and subconsciously embraced the toddler and patted her trembling shoulders .

" Ah? Brother? You're finally awake . "

Hearing such soft and milky voice , the curly long eyelashes of the teenager trembled and slowly opened , revealing a pair of cold , yet attractive obsidian eyes that seems to glow with blue light in the dark like a beast finally opening its eyes from a long slumber . The sight of the thin toddler welcomed his blurry vision . The teenager moved his hand and weakly rubbed his eyes . Then his sight gradually cleared as he finally saw the face of the toddler more clearly .

A thought the came up to his head . ' who is this small cub? '

" Brother! " Rose smiled brightly and hugged him excitedly . " You've been sleeping for a long time . Thankfully you're awake . "

The boy remained silent and stared at the girl before nodding and sat up properly . He then swept his eyes over the cramped space and couldn't help frowning . This place isn't the room he rented in the base .

His attention then was suddenly diverted to the little girl's belly which had been grumbling a lot of times . " You're hungry . " Not a question but a conclusion .

Rose subconsciously touched her small belly and nodded . " Brother , we don't have any food now and it's been two days since we had last eaten our supper . I'm so weak and couldn't collect woods to sell anymore . "

Gab doesn't know what's happening but he has to feed himself first . He patted the little girl's head and looked around the room before weakly standing up .

" Stay here for a while , i go get you food . "

Rose tilted her head in confusion. " But brother , it's raining outside . "

Gab looked outside and its indeed raining . " Don't worry about me . "

He then turned his back and slowly walked outside. The house is really small and it was only surrounded by small fences . Just where is the parents of the child? Just fr his current vision and body , Gab already knew that this wasn't his body anymore , he was originally a tall and slender man .

Gab looked down at his thin and weak hands and couldn't help sighing . He was confused at first when he woke up earlier . He was already dead , but he miraculously woke up into someone else's body. The body is malnourished and weak , and it is estimated that his age right now is probably around 10 and above .

Gab exited the fence and went to the forest . Once he was already far away from the house , he immediately crouched down and hugged his aching stomach . Fortunately , his current body didn't immediately started rotting when he took it over , or else he would have recieved a body with failing organs and bad odor . It was really miraculous and unbelievable , magical and incompressible . This is probably the work of an evil god , there's no way he got this body without even facing a trial wether he's a sinner or not , or wether he deserves to live in heaven or hell .

Gab immediately opened his space and grabbed some bread and noodles to stuff his belly . The space in his hands wasn't actually his from the very beginning . He stole it from a space ability user .

He just happened to witness that space ability user hoarding big supplies in the market and immediately concluded that he wasn't any other normal space ability users .

He possessed a very big space .

And unfortunately , he was discovered . That space ability user wanted to eliminate him . Bad for him , he's stronger than him and immediately suck the space out of his soul . He doesn't know how he did that but it has got something connected with his wood ability .

After chewing the bread and drinking a glass of mineral water , he immediately replenished his energy to the full . Gab wanted to check the space , he unfortunately couldn't enter the space yet for some unknown reason . It maybe because of his unreasonable way of plucking the magical space out from the real owner making the spiritual consciousness of the space to have grievances against him .

Fortunately though , the consciousness still let him pick out some items and he can still peek what's inside .

After eating , Gab pluck out a big leaf from nearby plants and caught some falling drops of water from the rain and washed his face full of bread crumbs . Then he summoned three hamburgers and an energy drink from a bottle .

He immediately discarded the wrappers and throw the plastics back to the space and wrapped the burgers with some big leaves and hid the energy drink , planning to pour it on a wooden cup and give it to the little kid .

Rose is still watching the raindrops through the windows when she saw her brother coming back . Rose excitedly waved her little hands although she's still feeling weak .

Gab stared at her silently before closing the gate and entered the house .

" I borrowed some money from the village to buy you food . "

Gab said and wiped his wet hair before giving the burgers wrapped with leaves to Rose and gave her a wooden cup filled with energy drink .

Rose recieved the food and stared at her brother . " You're borrowing money again? Brother? How can we pay those back? "

Gab paused and looked down at the toddler , before sighing again and rubbed her head. " Brother will pay it back , don't worry . "

" Really? "

Gab nodded , he then turned his back to pick out an old clothe from the cabinet and started changing clothes .

Rose on the other hand curiously opened the leaves . Her eyes widened when a burst of fragrance diffused to the air and entered her nostrils . " Smells delicious!! "

Rose lifted the upper bun and saw a meat . A meat!!!! This food must be expensive!!

" Brother! Why did you buy this kind of food! This must have cost you a lot of cents! "

Gab turned his back and looked at the reluctant expression on her face and couldn't help feeling amused . This little girl ...

Gab shook his bead speechlessly and rubbed her head again . " Go ahead and don't worry about money , I'll earn some for you in the future . "

Rose hearing Gab didn't relaxed her muscles at all but felt more concerned about their expenses but her belly is already complaining for food , so she just started eating . Who wouldn't have thought that the food her brother brought for her would be so heavenly delicious .

" Hmmm , yummy " she muttered and munched quickly on the food .

After changing clothes , Gab sat on the side and watched the little girl . He then slowly talked to the girl . " I couldn't remember a lot of things anymore . Can you tell me your name? "

Rose paused her movements when he heard her brother's words and looked at him properly. " You don't remember my name brother? "

Gab nodded and showed a struggling expression . " I felt that my memories are missing for some unknown reasons . "

Rose's eyes widened in shock . " Brother! You must have been cursed by the ghost and ate your memories . "

' well , he's indeed a ghost for stealing the boy's body . '

" Sort of "

Rose worriedly looked at her brother and couldn't help hugging him . " Don't worry brother , even if you don't have any memories anymore , i am still right beside you. "

Gab's lips started twitching but he didn't dare push the girl away . " Tell me , what's your name . "

Rose sat down and started talking. " My name's Rose , and your name's Gabriel . Our surname is Winson and i don't remember who's our parents . "

It seems that only Gabriel remembered who they really were but he unfortunately did not get Gabriel's memory.

" How old are you now? "

Rose blinked her eyes and answered . " four "

" How about me? "

" You're 15 "

So young , but they were only living alone together without any parents. Gabriel and Rose must have been living with difficulties .

Gab stood up then rubbed Rose's head again . " I'll heat up some water for you to wash up . You're already stinky . "

Rose sniffed her armpit and stuck out her tongue from disgust . " Heat me some water please , thank you . "

Gab chuckled and exited the small house and headed to the small dirty kitchen . He then lifted a pot and went to a small jar of water to start washing the pot .

" Let's check if there's a dishwasher in the space . " Gab muttered and closed his eyes to peek inside .

Well , there's indeed a dishwasher inside. A few seconds later , a small bottle of dishwasher and a yellow sponge appeared within his hands . Gab opened his eyes and nonchalantly started washing the dirty pot and filled it with water .

Fortunately , the siblings had already stock up dry woods . Gab picked up the dry woods and started a fire with a lighter. Modern tools are really convenient but he was just too lazy to make one using the ancient method . There's an easier way to make fire in his arsenal , why make himself more difficult ?

The rain gradually stopped and the crickets in the backyard started making noises making the lone house livelier than before.

" Brother! Are you done? "

Rose trotted over while sipping on a cup of energy drink and peeked behind Gab who's currently fanning the fire .

Gab paused his movements and looked down at his side . Rose is currently naked with only a small towel around her shoulders . It seems that she's ready to take a bath . Gab nodded and lifted the pot of water and went to the side and dragged a small bucket and poured down the hot water , mixed it with cool water and stirred it for a while before beckoning to the excited toddler .

Rose excitedly rushed and started washing up . Gab's eyebrows arc up when he saw that Rose didn't jump into the bucket. Well it seems that this little kid knows how to save water.

A very well behaved girl indeed .
