Chapter 14

Gavin got onto Kenobi's ship easy enough. He was officially there as a civilian observer. Gavin watched as the Malevolence was hounded by the Republic fleet and was fleeing. A flicker on the scanners showed a Naboo Space Yacht appear off of the bow of the Malevolence. Just like the show, Padme was caught in a tractor beam and pulled into the ship. As the turbo lasers fell silent on the Republic ship, Gavin accompanied Kenobi and Skywalker to Skywalkers freighter.

"You know you are just an observer, right?" Kenobi quipped.

"Yeah, and I'm observing from the front lines." Gavin responded to Kenobi's teasing.

"I have a plan," Skywalker said as they took off.

Both Kenobi and Gavin groaned at this. "What?" Anakin asked.

"Your last plan got me stuck in a rancor nest on Felucia." Kenobi complained.

"And me stuck in a bar brawl in the Courascant lower levels." Gavin added.

"Hey, how was I to know that the smuggler we were after would start a fight with his buddies over a few credits he owed them?" Anakin tried to defend himself.

"And the Rancor?" Obi Wan asked sarcastically.

"I already apologized for that." Anakin said sheepishly.

Deciding that they had messed with him enough, they let him explain his plan. "The sensors are obviously damaged. We will fly to the emergency airlock and dock, then just walk right in."

"You're crazy." Obi Wan responded.

"But it is the least crazy plan that I have heard from him, and it should work." Gavin said, throwing in his two cents.

They approached the ship and docked. As they entered destroying droids, the two jedi looked at the armor Gavin was wearing. It took several blasterbolts without any damage. He was then shooting a slug thrower that not only had high fire rate and ammo capacity but also shot electrified slugs that played havoc with the B1 battledroids. When they were ambushed by a group of B2 Battledroids, they saw him push a button, and the display on his gun shined briefly in a yellow color with the picture of a bullet breaking a shield. He then began to shoot armor piercing rounds that cut through them like butter.

"Where did you get those?" Anakin asked.

"Made them myself," Gavin answered, concentrating on the fight.

Contacting Padme, they agreed to reach the central area. With several trains running back and forth through the giant ship they met up then were attacked by Greivous. Kenobi fought Greivous to a stand still before escaping by sending greivous on an out of control train. Padme let them know about the ship getting ready for hyperspace, and they split up. Kenobi went for the hyperdrive, Anakin and Padme went for the bridge and to retrieve 3PO. Gavin went for the primary power core.

If one fails, the other two should succeed. Gavin thought as he fought his way to the power core. Setting a series of grenades from Mass Effect at key points in the core, he began to leave. He was confronted by Greivous. Apparently, he had gotten the short end of the stick in his fight with Obi Wan and was missing 2 of his 4 arms, and one of his legs was damaged. Like in the show, he was prone to gloating. Gavin looked on putting up his rifle.

He then drew his lightsaber and engaged Greivous. The chilling blade was still able to cut, but instead of caulterizing the wound, it froze it. He fought Greivous with all he had, eventually ending in a saber lock. As the two struggled, Gavin made a dangerous gamble. Letting go of his saber with his left hand, he kept his right hand on it, blocking Grievous's 2 sabers. He then activated the Omniblade stabbing Greivous in his left leg. Gavin then disengaged, throwing another grenade to cover his retreat.

As he ran, he asked SAM. "Did you get the data?"

"Yes, sir. I received the data requested. The other Subjugator class cruisers are in a top secret shipyard in the Bomis Koori system." SAM answered. he had been datamining the computer systems since Gavin had gotten on board.

Gavin barely made it back at about the same time as Obi Wan. Jumping through the airlock as the doors closed, Anakin got them out of their quick. With separatist fighters in hot pursuit, Padme got on the cannons shooting back. Seeing them try to go to Hyperspace, Anakin said not to worry about it. The Malevolence then turned slamming bow first into the planet as Gavin remotely detonated the grenades, causing an even bigger explosion as the power core went critical.

The three watched as Greivous chose to run instead of fight. Gavin then sat down. "I need a drink." He said.

On the Negotiator, Gavin said goodbye. He explained he had other matters to attend to, but if they need him, then give him a call. Boarding the Tempest, he took off before launching into hyperspace. "Set course for Endor, please."Gavin stated, "Also, please find that tracker the Republic placed on the ship so I can get rid of it quick when we get there. we have a lot to do and not a lot of time"
