Chapter 94: Bohai Bay

Bohai Bay was among the three bays of Bohai Sea, it was here the plans of Sea Dragon Krills were thwarted thanks to Zhang Xiahou.

A horde of ten thousand monsters in total were moving towards the shallow waters of Bohai Bay. Every single one of them were Warrior level all aspiring to evolve using the energy of Galaxy Veins. Demon beasts use of many resources were what humans would call crude.

Fifty humans could attempt to break through to the advanced level using a mine of Galaxy Veins, demon beasts were lucky if ten could even attempt to.

No Commander or higher level monster would be traveling with this horde of different monsters. Bohai Bay was in no way an underprotected area. Why would any strong monsters make themselves the target of an ambush by visiting the same place every year at a particular time.

Facing upto ten thousand monsters would be a tough ask of any mage below the mid Super level. Cao Guang had chosen a different path.

He needed to get the job done fast, before the sea monsters had a chance to get close. There was a brief window between their arrival and accessibility to the Galaxy Vein mine.

Lin Mu had sold the information to Zhao family, why couldn't he do the same. Only he chose the army instead of families or Hunters. This would count as contributions and there was a chance they would allocate some to him or his friends as thanks.

Besides they were better equipped to deal with a horde of ten thousand monsters. By the time Cao Guang had reached the Bay, the military had set up a temporary base and were monitoring the waters. Looking at the number of soldiers on standby Cao Guang was sure a Super mage was on the site. And judging by their tactics the person was probably experienced and had the Water element as his primary.

They hadn't progressed to killing the beasts completely and did not opt to cordon off the area to prevent Hunters from venturing out to sea. They were more than willing to cordon the area after they figured out the exact location of the Galaxy Vein mine.

The team observed the bay area and the unusual currents in the water caused by the monster horde travelling underwater from a distance for an opening. The monster horde was still atleast five kilometres away from the mine.

They spotted jagged spikes of Sea stacks provided the team with possible areas to stand in the shallow waters. Without these stacks Cao Guang would have never bothered to make his way to Bohai.

Ships were a good form of travel, but with Advanced Water and Wind mages it was pointless to travel to the midst of ten thousand sea monsters. Besides even with top Advanced mages there was a risk of drowning.

Cao Guang instead on finding out where the Galaxy Veins were and using the nearby sea stacks and two Earth mages on his team to his advantage.

Unlike the military and other hunters here he actually knew exactly where the Galaxy Vein mine was, all he needed was to find the best sea stack and take it from there.

Of course the risks involved were nothing to scoff at all, one wrong step and he would be among ten thousand eager monsters. The whole operation was under planning for months and needed every part to go perfectly to succeed. In order to mine better Song Xia had undergone beginner level classes in extracting precious resources in Dongfang Oriental Tower in Magic City.

Yao Nan would freeze a some of the water and as ice would float on the water Gao Xuan and Zhu Li could use their respective Soul seeds to mage a bridge and some defensive fortifications for Cao Guang and Song Xia to go under water using some diving equipment.

Song Xia would even be able to travel quicker using the shadows of various protuding sea stacks nearby. It was time for her newly acquired sixty tier Fleeing Shadow : Shadow Bird to shine. She had acquired the seven Warrior level Soul Essences from Cao Guang, he had prepared that specially for her, too smooth out this process.

He hadn't even brought his basic spells to the fifth tier yet!

As for why they had to wait till June to come here and extract Galaxy Veins from under the noses of ten thousand sea monsters was because of a unique tidal phenomenon that had formed in this bay.

A deep and unbreakable layer of rocks would cover the Galaxy Vein mine for most part of the year. When the tidal phenomenon moved the rock layer for a brief period was his window of swipe the galaxy veins.

Sea monsters had discovered this shift of the rock layer and would move from the deep sea layer inwards every year when they felt the onset of this phenomenon.

Over it was a convulted plan for a difficult situation. Cao Guang briefly felt like he was pulling a great heist before moving out with his team.

They made their way to the nearest Sea stack by swimming. The figure was twenty metres above sea level at ten metres radius.
