Chapter 68: Imperial College

The group arrived at the Imperial College on time as was greeted by Professor Xu, who was a former Hunter and an alumni.

"Welcome, we have arranged your accomodation, if you will follow me I will lead you to your rooms. I hope you guys rest well before the exchange battle, you'll need it and great to see you as well old Lu".

"And he thinks the Imperial College has already won the fight" Lu Zhangtian snorted.

"They better be good after this, if not don't blame us for humiliating them" Zhao Jing added.

The Pearl Institute team rested for a few hours before making their way to the arena where the battle was supposed to take place.

Professor Xu met them in the arena with the students of Imperial College.

"Since you guys are the guest, you can choose the format".

" Team battles, one will be four vs four and another five vs five. First match will be five v five."

"Alright"

Both professors turned to their students to select.

Professor Lu weighed up the group strength and send the Healer with the weaker squad.

Yao Nan, Zhu Li, Nie Huan, Yan Liling paired up with Bai Hong. Professor Lu could have easily sent Bai Hong with the stronger group and won the game, but that would have dropped the chances for the students without backers to impress.

Besides Dean Xiao was playing for a complete win. He was sure that morally superior professor from Imperial College would let them decide the rules of the fight.

The team selection was actually long done for the Pearl Institute's side.

Professor Xu send out a Summoner, Lightning Mage, Fire Mage, Water Mage and an Earth Mage, he completely miss read the situation and didn't send a Healer out.

The Imperial College started out with great momentum and Pearl Institute barely held on. But after the first round of attacks were survived, they went on the offensive without care of injury. Bai Hong couldn't just heal them. She casted a Blessing on to Yao Nan's Ice spell accelerating it's spread.

Once Imperial College realised the Healer/Blessed was on board, they had to sacrifice a teammate to overcome that offensive to put pressure on Pearl Institute.

Pearl institute continuously took damage while Bai Hong healed them and kept them in place. They dragged the match for some time before they managed to take out the opposition one by one, winning the first match for the Pearl Institute.

Professor Xu's face was livid, he knew it was his fault the team lost. He was overconfident and let them completely dictate the match even before it had started and lost. He was under pressure to win the second and win the exchange matches.

Since three people remained standing in the Pearl Institute's side in the first match they were up three to nil. The only way Imperial College could win was to defeat Pearl Institute in the next match without loosing anyone.

Which forced Professor Xu to fight with a Healer in a four v four. He sent out a Fire Mage, Healer Mage, Water Maga and the captain of their side a Lightning Mage.

Professor Lu obviously sent out Cao Guang, Zhao Jing, Lu Zhangtian and Mu Hua.

Cao Guang had decided to not hold back any longer as he has promised Dean Xiao a victory and even withdrawn some benefits ahead of time.

The two teams took their positions and the judge started the match. Cao Guang casted the spell he was familiar with and a lunar white Gate opened bringing a Warrior level Wolf out.

"A second Summoner, damn it, I've been had".

Lu Zhangtian, Mu Hua and Zhao Jing were just as suprised, according to their knowledge this guy had the Lightning and Space element, were their info wrong?

Either way it didn't stop them from going on the offensive first.

Fenrir's aura seemed to have deterred the Imperial College from taking the initiative as they let Pearl Institute a yard and then an inch. Cao Guang didn't stop there with Fenrir and summouned Flame Belle while his teammates kept the opposition busy.

"A second Warrior" the Healer Mage yelled at his teammates to be on guard.

Regardless of it was Fenrir or Little Flame Belle they could take one participant alone, let alone adding Cao Guang and three teammates to the equation. Cao Guang sent both of them after the Healer and faced the Lightning mage himself.

A minute later the Healer was out of the match, from there the team collapsed in a minute completely. Pearl institute won 7-0 against the Imperial College. It was among the biggest routs in recent years as well.
