Song Xia's Sound Chord distracted the wolf from attacking the lieutenant while the multiple casting of Brilliant Light: Blind , well obviously blinded a creature with three eyes!

"Earth Wave: Shift"

The Earth mages executed another spell on command as Fenrir approached the wolf. The Earth mages obviously failed in keeping the wolf in position, An primary spell was not enough to deal with a Warrior class beast. But the multiple spells kept it from dodging the Lieutenant's spell on instinct.

Lieutenant delayed releasing his fire spell to match the team's spells. A massive column of Fire emerged and attacked the Three-eyed magic wolf as he struck his fist on to the ground. A portion of which connected on the first try. 

Fenrir charged down and quickly hit the wolf pushing it back into the range of the spell. Lieutenant Zhang composed himself and prepared a Wind spell this time while Fenrir and Cao Guang's squad held it attention.

In reality the battle hung on Tong Xuan's abilities. He used his Light and Earth intermediate spells to guard both Fenrir and Lieutenant Zhang. He was at the peak of intermediate level. His spells were a struggle for a lesser Warrior to break through. 

Without him the squad would have to retreat and allow this wolf to gain ground towards Bo City. Something they were even more unwilling to allow after last week's accident. Yes, their Commander would be able to kill it easily but it wasn't about a single wolf. The commander had to wait for further reports and orders from Southern HQ. 

The exterminating mission was called off last time and the army now needed information more than ever. 

Wind Disc: Sky Snare 

A fierce gale lifted the wolf up partially as every mage focused their spell on the beast. Fenrir even managed to bite of a piece of its stomach in exchange for an injury to its back.

" Force your spells on the wounds, Others prepare to keep it busy just as it lands" ordered Cao Guang rousing his troops spirit.

Fiery Fist Ground Break

Lieutenant Zhang launched another spell this making better contact with the beast. He used his Wind spell to dodge the Wolf's counter as he communicated with his partner. A bright Armor appeared in front of him and seemed to even move with him as he charged another fire spell this time at point blank range.

Light Blessing Holy Shield 

Tong Xuan's spell was able to guard Lieutenant while not restraining his mobility.

Fiery Fist Exploding Heavens 

The wolf was cornered and hit from the spell. It's vitality was quickly fading and the flames kept exploding inside it's wounds and soon the wolf died with another quick round of spells from Cao Guang's squad.

Cao Guang was surprised when he noticed a Soul Essence floating out from the corpse. He quickly absorned this Soul Essence into his Soul Container. The Little Tora pendant could only absorb souls killed by his magic but the Soul Container was different.

A Warrior Soul Essence was worth about twenty million yuan. Above all he could put this Soul Essence into the Little Tora pendant.

It would then break it down to twelve Servant class Soul Essences. He could bring his Fire spell to the fourth tier and still have half a dozen extra.

"We will rest up for half our before splitting into squads and continuing our carpet search" said Tong Xuan as he regained his breath.

The military mission would continue for another week before drawing this year's culling season to a close. Bo City lost fifty five good soldiers this year. Zhan Kong wondered how many people he would part with year next year.

A few more weeks had gone by when Cao Guang received his first of two explosive news Song Xia had broken to intermediate level. She had even awakened the Shadow element during the standard military awakening.

Well Gao Xuan was probably more shocked than he was right? Cao Guang quickly drew comfort from his friend's sadness and move on to his own news. He finally managed to open his contract space. He was able to control the intermediate spell reasonably well at a snail's pace.

The military would help their soldiers awaken but they wouldn't help them awaken specific elements. Cao Guang would attempt to awaken the Lightning element. But know he had enough money to go for cheaper elements if he wanted but he knew that according to old man Ying his chances were zero. But being a gambler he was willing to go all in.

Poor Gao Xuan took two thousand points of damage that week. He could soon contract a Flame Belle. 

"Do you two want me to commit suicide" said Gao Xuan with righteous indignation.

His best friend and his crush had left him to rot in the Primary level. Where was his dignity now.

" Try thinking about that when you were shaking your hips" roared Song Xia back.

She had found out even though she agreed to go out with this man if he reached the Advanced level, this stinky guy was taken back to his quarters by his drinking buddies. Apparently he had visited an institution of questionable reputation as well that night.

"Xiaozue I'm a virgin. It's all a big misunderstanding. Those f*****s drugged me and took me there" apologised Gao Xuan.

"Tell that to someone who cares"

"One step forward, two steps back" sighed an amused Cao Guang. This guy will surely do something if he knew I boosted my primary spell to the fourth tier.

"Have you guys applied for the leave, we are leaving this Saturday." 

Pang Lai was taking Cao Guang to contract a Flame Belle, so naturally his teammates were unwilling to miss this chance.

" Our transfer has been approved right?" asked Song Xia 

"Yes we need to report in late September"

" The military was kind enough to give us two weeks leave " said Gao Xuan in a relaxed tone.

"You don't get it do you? We are expected to take the Sergeant's exam in Ancient capital. That's why our vacation is two weeks" said Song Xia mockingly.

They could see the life drain out of Gao Xuan eyes. The exam was more deadly to him than a Forbidden Curse.

The group flew over to the nearest airport from Dunhuang. The Dunhuang area was south of Xinjiang plains and east of the Kunlun mountains.

The group would spent their time exploring the Sandy region before Pang Lai would arrive. Besides Cao Guang had a suprise to prepare for a certain somebody.

The reason why knew a Flame Belle would be born just a decade earlier than the final Flame Belle was thanks to Jiang Feng. Jiang Feng would be part of an expedition into the Northern Burning Valley. She would have a life threatening accident only to be saved by the Flame Belle of this generation.

The Flame would then pass away under a plot along with Jiang Feng, together they became an Elemental Evil Spirit whose only goal was give birth to last pure spirit of fire under the Starry Sky Tree.

An Elemental Evil Spirit was born when a human died in an Elemental Sacred Land under great emotions, positive or negative.

He would ensure that this generations Flame Belle survived and successful in hatching an infant Flame Belle in this generation as well as the next. If Mo Fan was so inclined he would let him pick one up in the future.

Ha, the joy of being a transmigrator is controlling the timeline. 

He now needed to inform Dunhuang military about the location of their disgrace and let them handle that Demoness. While he rode his teacher's coattails and collected a cute Flame Belle for himself.

Cao Guang and his team spent their day hunting a couple of Sand Demon tigers individually. Earning him two more Soul Remnants. His tally of Soul Remnants was now eight!

He would need a lot to condense even a single Soul Essence but he had already strengthened thirteen stars of his Fire element. So he wasn't bothered by the abyssmal conversion rate anymore.

The city nearest to Northern Burning Valley was brimming with Hunters and all sorts of mages as rumours about a Fire Calamity that would birth Soul seeds or their fragments spread.

"By the way we should register ourselves at the Hunter Union. It will be a useful identity. If in the future we leave the country then the Hunter Union can provide us with info" said Cao Guang as the group sold a rare Bone dropped by a Sand Demon Tiger for two hundred thousand and split the money among them.

" That's all well and good but when will we do missions to raise our hunter levels. We'll barely have any free time after cultivation and military duties" asked Song Xia.

" There'll be some missions to handle resources from killing Undead in Ancient capital. We'll do our missions and duties at the same time. Don't think about it much it's only a convenient identity"

"I think my stars are finally saturated. How about we spent our vacation here after you contract the Flame Belle. We'll keep battling these monsters ourselves" said Gao Xuan.

"No need to look at me, you had me at battling. I need to train my Shadow element as well"

"Stop showing off will you! I get it both of are intermediate mages" screamed Gao Xuan.

"It seems you broke him" said Cao Guang patting Gao Xuan's head " Yoshi , Yoshi "
