Chapter 153: Captain shows her strength

Song Xia went on the stage herself under the cheers of Gao Xuan and Cao Guang, make no mistake she might be still an intermediary mage but her Combat prowess could keep up with any mage at the same level. She had to display the improvements she had over the past years.

Mochizuki Ken sent their strongest as he saw the captain make a move, the Japanese substitutes had calmed down from the initial victory and focused again.

Yanagi Tatsuo stepped onto the arena and stood opposite the Chinese captain. He was the strongest of the national Hall because of his control over the elements, his innate talent gave him better control over every element he had, the only reason he missed out on a spot in the national team was an injury.

He had the Ice and Plant elements repsectively.

Both of them wasted no time in casting their primary spells as soon they could.

Tatsuo released his Ice Spread Enshroud to spread the Ice elements that he could manipulate later, however Song Xia's reply completely stunned him.

Sound Chord Sequence

Song Xia had improved her Sound basic spell to the fourth level like her Fleeing Shadow and her innate talent allowed it to reach the fifth tier instantly. The intense vibrations caused by the sound waves broke off the ice into pieces and negated his plan of launching Ice Locks from multiple angles using his talent and the surrounding Ice elements. He had decided a clever way to borrow the effect of a Domain without having one. Of course his spell were still only as strong as his spirit grade seed, but Song Xia's Mental Strength improved her Sound element as well.

Waves of noise infiltrated Tatsuo's defences and threw his mind into disarray, leading him to use his rare concentration magic equipment, it allowed him to briefly overcome the disturbance and form a Star Pattern again.

Forest of Kun Prison

Vines emerged from the ground and assaulted Song Xia in a dome as the effects of the magic tool ran out and left him to face the sounds again, however it didn't last long as Song Xia switched to try shadow element to flee from the plant spell, allowing him to form Star Orbits in peace.

Song Xia spilt herself into a shadow clone with her fifth tier Basic spell and approached as close as possible to Tatsuo using the Forest of Kun as a cover, elements of ice spread around slowly as she formed her intermediate spell of sound and prepared to attack Tatsuo again.

Tatsuo watched as his ice chains pierce a shadow as an even stronger sound spell knocked him back and unconscious in a single hit.

Death Song Explode

Only the spell was far stronger than a third or fourth tier intermediate Sound spell, after the battle with Murkwater Frogs she finally had enough Minion level souls to improve her Sound element to the fourth tier of the intermediate level and her talent formed an unstoppable attack with the fifth tier intermediate spell, it was as strong as an Advanced spell with her second level Mental Strength.

If she reached the third level she could cast an intermediate that would be stronger than an Advanced spell easily. Her spell had made light work of the Vines Tatsuo formed instantly and his magic equipment. It was completely unreasonable, even Cao Guang was surprised even he didn't have a fifth tier intermediate spell that could be used offensively like that.

Zu Yuanjun went up to fight next and won quite easily and finished their attempt to win a National badge sucessfully, rendering the last fight moot.

He won with his Curse material that his family was famous for. If you asked anyone what was the oldest family in China was they would say the Zu, the might not be as conspicuous as Mus or rich as the Zhaos, but they were older and new some ancient magic methods. Their ancestor was a member of the court of Qin Shi Huang.

He had devised an expensive method to form a Curse material that could boost their spells, but this was only the beginning why?

Because the famed Cursed Body Art of the Zu family was a special effect of this Curse material, only Advanced mages could have this material usually but they had an even more expensive method to let an intermediate mage use it. Since Zhan Kong was out of the way and Zu Xiangtian talent of forming twice as many Cursed bodies hadn't been revealed the lottery fell into Yuanjun's hands.

As soon as he reached the advanced level he could form the first Cursed body and complete half of the art, exploding his strength.

No ancient civilization was to be scoffed at.

As for Zu Jiming and Zhan Kong the unfortunate duo didn't awaken Curse elements, unlike Mu Family their odds of awakening Curse element wasn't all that high.
