"Of course," Lie Fan replied. "Thank you for your understanding, Master Zhuge Xuan. Zhuge Liang's future growth talent and experience are top priority for me, just like Sima Yi and Lu Su."

Zhuge Xuan nodded, still thoughtful as he took his leave to discuss the matter with his nephew. Lie Fan turned his attention to Lu Zhi, who had been observing the discussion between Lie Fan and Zhuge Xuan concerning Zhuge Liang.

"Now, let's talk about Lu Xun," Lie Fan said, shifting the focus. "Master Lu Zhi, I know you have concerns about his age and readiness, even though you tried to hide it from me by listening to the discussion between me and Master Zhuge Xuan."

Lu Zhi stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Indeed, my lord. Lu Xun is undoubtedly talented, but he is still young. He does not have the same level of maturity and experience as Sima Yi or Zhuge Liang."

He felt a swell of pride, knowing his daughter had chosen wisely to have Lie Fan as her husband and proved that the Cai Clan's main line only produced bright minded generations.

After he had managed to convince both Zhuge Xuan and Lu Zhi, Lie Fan had a short conversation with the big three before taking his leave, and Cai Yong walked alongside him as he left the academy area.

"Son In Law," Cai Yong began, his voice filled with respect, "your ability to address and allay the concerns of the two most stubborn scholars of this era is truly commendable. It is clear that you have thought deeply about the futures of both Zhuge Liang and Lu Xun."

When the messenger reached him, he was immediately informed that Diao Chan had fainted after taking Yanyan out to play in the garden with Wannian.

After hearing this news, Lie Fan immediately spurred his horse onward, urgency gripping his heart as he raced back to his residence. The news of Diao Chan suddenly fainting had sent shockwaves through his usually composed demeanor.

As he arrived at his residence, He dismounted swiftly, handing his reins to a nearby guard before rushing inside followed by his bodyguards, immediately heading toward his shared room with Diao Chan.

He burst into the room, he found Diao Chan lying on the bed, looking pale but conscious. By her side, the physician was already at work, examining her condition.

Lie Fan's heart ached at the sight of his beloved wife in such a state, after waiting for the physician to finish his examination, he knelt by her bedside and took her hand gently in his.

"Chan'er, what happened? Why do you suddenly faint?" he asked, his voice filled with concern as something like this never happened before.

Diao Chan managed a weak smile, squeezing his hand. "I was just playing with Yanyan in the garden alongside Wannian. I felt dizzy all of a sudden, and then everything went dark. When I opened my eyes, I was already in our room."

The physician looked up, his expression serious but reassuring. "My lord, the Second Lady appears to be suffering from exhaustion and lack of nutrition. It's not a life threatening situation, as I must congratulate My Lord as the Second Lady is pregnant!"

Lie Fan's eyes widened in surprise, a mix of shock and joy spreading across his face. "Pregnant?" he repeated, looking at the physician to ensure he hadn't misheard. The physician nodded with a reassuring smile.

Diao Chan, too, seemed stunned by the news. "Pregnant?" she echoed softly, placing a hand on her abdomen. She had taken every precaution, they both had, yet here she was, carrying their child.

Lie Fan squeezed her hand gently. "Chan'er, this is...unexpected but wonderful news. We're going to have another child." His voice was filled with happiness, never expecting such joyous news.

Diao Chan's initial shock began to give way to a smile, though she still seemed to be processing the news while caressing her abdomen. "I...I never thought... We were so careful, Husband."

The physician cleared his throat, bringing their attention back to him. "My Lord, My Lady, while this is indeed joyous news, it's important that the Second Lady takes great care of her health. Rest and proper nutrition are crucial, also find some help for her to take care of the Young Lady."

Lie Fan and Diao Chan couldn't help but laugh, their spirits lifted by Wannian's enthusiasm. "Thank you, Wannian," Diao Chan said warmly, "Your help will be invaluable, Yanyan you will spend more time with your aunty now."

As laughter and Yanyan's voice filled the room, the news of Diao Chan's pregnancy spread quickly through the residence. Before long, the door to their room swung open, and Lie Fan's other wives, Ying Yue, Cai Wenji, and Lu Lingqi rushed in, their faces alight with curiosity and concern.

After confirming the news with Lie Fan and Diao Chan, both Ying Yue and Cai Wenji clapped their hand joyously hearing the good news and flocking around Diao Chan pushing Lie Fan out, who could only shake his head as this was happening. Lu Lingqi on the other hand was also happy for Diao Chan, she held her abdomen with some dilemma as she wanted to give a child to Lie Fan as well, but she also wanted to accompany Lie Fan on his campaign against Cao Cao.
