Chapter 21

This would be Indra's first battle against multiple skilled shinobi, but he wasn't making any plan for it. If he was in his right state of mind he'd have approached the battle like he normally does, but his mind was currently clouded in rage and a sense of loss. Something a twelve year old that has lost the driving motivation in his life wasn't able to handle.

Indra crouched and placed his right index on the ground.

'Three thousand shinobi, Kirigakure and Sunagakure. Hundred average jonin, two elite jonin, the rest genin, and chunin,' he muttered, grouping the shinobi based on their chakra reserves. "I'd save the elite jonins' for last.'

Having sensed the current location of his enemies, Indra took to closing the gap.

The shinobi force Indra was planning on massacring had made their way deep into the land of Fire, their destination was the battlefront between Kiri and Konoha. It would take an average of 5 hours of shinobi travel time to get to their location, but Indra covered the distance in less than an hour. Arriving with slightly over 70% of his chakra reserves remaining, and a shinobi force that was already prepared for a rapidly approaching chakra monster.

Indra didn't bother strategising, the moment he laid his eyes on the assembled shinobi force he charged at them with his tanto ready to reap their lives.

With a roar, the shinobi army charged at the rapidly approaching Indra.

Indra didn't bother slowing down, he charged at them, cutting a bloody path through the allied shinobi force. Limbs of various shinobi flew in the air as he moved his tanto alongside the bodies of the weaker shinobi that weren't able to withstand the speed at which he cut through them.

[Indra POV]

With my byakugan activated I recklessly cut down the shinobi in front of me.

Moving my head to the side, a kunai with a paper bomb sailed past me. Immediately shrinking my tanto, I grabbed the kunai and separated it from the paper bomb before letting the kunai go, and attaching the paper bomb to the nearest shinobi.

The shinobi scratched at the paper bomb trying to remove it from him as I kicked him deeper into the battlefield.

*Boom*

An explosion rang out but I ignored it, summoning a tanto back to my hand.

I side-stepped a sword swing, cutting the back of the shinobi and moving on to the next one. With a swing of my tanto, another one dropped to the floor. Jumping up as the arms of a shinobi juts from the ground, I sent more chakra to my feet and stamped on him causing his head to pop.

Everything became monotone to me as I fell into a trance-like state, cutting down every shinobi in front of me. My entire body got drenched in blood the longer I killed them. Their blood creating a trail behind me as I moved from place to place. It was a bloodbath and I was revelling in it.

A sword came flying at me, I grabbed it and stabbed the shinobi approaching from behind. I was about to attack again when I was sent flying back by a wind release jutsu.

Landing on my feet, I shrunk my tanto and made the hand-sign for my next jutsu.

'Fire Release: Continuous Flame wall'

I blew a massive continuous flame from my mouth, the flame creating a massive wide-span wall of fire. The flame wall rapidly moved towards the shinobi force, destroying everything in its path.

Over a dozen kiri shinobi stood in front of the group, 'Water Release: Water Wall'

It was the generic counter, but it worked. Both jutsu collided, creating a massive cloud of steam that blinded everyone.

Countless chakra rods line op infant of me, and with a slight wrist movement, they all shot into the steam cloud adding more numbers to the already high death toll.

"Argghh!!!"

Countless shinobi screamed out as the chakra rods didn't immediately kill them.

Subconsciously suppressing my chakra, I summoned my tanto back to my hand and shot into the cloud of steam.

I began my assault on them again, using my tanto alongside a plethora of different ninjutsu techniques. The enemy shinobi did not stand back as I mowed them down though, they fought back and they did so with intense fervour, their resistance becoming increasingly desperate as more of them died. Without something like the sharingan ability to predict attacks, I accumulated damage and various injuries as the battle continued.

I was already down to the last 40% of my chakra reserve, with slightly less than five hundred enemy shinobi remaining.

I shrunk myself, dodging an attack aimed at my back, I then appeared over a hundred meters away from them.

Placing my palms together, I moulded most of my remaining chakra. The jutsu I was going to use combines fire and earth release, drawing out magma from deep into the ground. I could have used it earlier, but it couldn't cover the entire battlefield so I saved it for when they get significantly smaller.

With a roar, I released the moulded chakra. 'Magma Surge'.

I fell to my knees, drained out of chakra. With a ragged breath, I watched the ground rumble around the remaining shinobi. Fissures forms everywhere, splitting the land around them open.

"What's happening?" They all shouted, trying to balance themselves.

Some of them tried to jump over the widening chasm that was quickly forming, but hot lava jut out of the ground incinerating them.

I could see the fear in their eyes as the lava shoots out of the chasm surrounding them, but I didn't care, I welcomed it. I wanted them dead and by using the last of my chakra I ensured they'd perish.

They all scrambled in fear trying to escape the lava that was forming around them.

I let out a chuckled as I watched them try to escape, "That's not all,' I murmured, waiting for the last part of the jutsu.

'Water Release: Water Wave'

'Wind Release: Wind Blast'

'Earth Release: Armour Protection'

They all released various jutsu to protect themselves or enable them escape but it was futile, they couldn't escape. They were surrounded by lava that would soon be forming a lava dome around them.

'It's over,' I let out an exhausted sigh, falling back on my butt. The lava had killed off all of them, although the chakra I used in forming it ran out in less than a minute causing the dome to collapse.

'What?!!'

Sensing danger, I quickly jumped off the ground with what looked to be a puppet wielding a sword crashing into the ground less than a second later.

'A puppet?' I wondered. 'That would have killed me if I was a second too late.'

Screaming out loud with her body emitting smoke, a badly burned Sunagakure shinobi charged at me.

Although I was exhausted already, I easily dodged her attack as it was desperate and disorganised.

Grabbing the kunoichi by her neck, I lifted her to eye level.

"Do you hate me?" I coldly ask the hysterical shinobi.

The shinobi didn't answer, she kept clawing at me doing her utmost to either kill me or release her, I couldn't tell the difference.

Summoning a tanto, I aimed at the Suna shinobi causing her to struggle even more. However, I was forced to drop her and dodge as I was attacked by another badly burnt Suna shinobi.

"Run, Chiyo!!" The Suna shinobi screamed at the kunoichi as he desperately attacked me trying to buy time for the kunoichi to escape.

With teary eyes, the kunoichi turned to escape, running as fast as she could without looking back.

"Where do you think you're going to?!" I roared stretching my hand towards her.

The shinobi jumped in front of my outstretched hand protecting the kunoichi from the chakra rods I'd sent at her.

"Those black rods always appeared when you do that," he said with a smirk as he struggled to stand back up.

Mustering his remaining willpower, the shinobi with my chakra rods in his body tried to attack again but he quickly fell back to the ground. Although he was going to die here, he managed to save the kunoichi as I couldn't see her anymore and I barely had chakra so I couldn't activate my byakugan to search for her.

I hissed in mild annoyance as I crouched in front of him. "That was pointless. When I'm done killing you, I'd be going to Sunagakure to kill your kazekage and I'd use the opportunity to kill your wife."

I summoned my tanto and raised it. In a last bid of desperation, the shinobi spat out a senbon at me but I raised my palm letting the senbon strike it instead.

"Like I said, pointless," I said to him.

The shinobi chuckled as I brought down the tanto on him, the looming death causing him to go mad.

I didn't bother retrieving the tanto from his skull, I left it in there for vultures to perch on when they feed on his carcass.

Standing back up, I was surprised as I dropped to my knees.

"What's going on?" I muttered as I felt my limbs become unresponsive.

With my mind getting clouded, and an increasing feeling of dizziness, I fell on my back finding myself losing consciousness.

"Poison," I mumbled as I finally passed out amidst the bodies of 2999 allied Kiri and Suna shinobi.

While Indra was passed out, the messenger hawk Hoki had sent informing them of their fate had reached Konoha, and the Hokage was leading his team, team Danzo and reinforcement shinobi to their location. Although he already expects them to be dead by the time he arrives, he was going to wipe out the enemy that remained.
