Chapter 23 Training

Kai was brought out of his thoughts by Anko finally stirring in the ground. "Whay happened?" She asked groggy before jumping to her feet. "OROCHIMARU!"she yelled before looking around and seeing Kai sitting on a stump.

"It's about time you woke up." He said, looking at her. " Your dragoon spirit finally awoke. how do you feel?"

Anko paused. " I feel good, but I can't sense my chakra any more what is going on?"

"Your chakra was replaced with mana," Kai replied, "You will no longer be able to use ninjutsu, but you will gain access to powerful abilities that rival even the strongest ninjutsu"

Anko nodded before realizing, "My cursed mark, did you remove it?"

Kai shook his head. "You removed it when you purged all of your chakra."

She almost had tears in her eyes. She was finally free of that bastard. She then began to realize that She did not seem to have half of her normal strength. "I thought the dragoon spirit would make me stronger, not weaker." She felt a sense of dissatisfaction emanating from the purple stone.

"Careful," Kai responded, "Thqt dragoon spirit has a mind of its own. You are insulting it by calling it weak."

"Then why do I feel weaker?" She asked

"The problem isn't the dragoon spirit. It's you." Kai replied. "You are essentially starting over. You have a brand new power you have no idea about and can not use it like you do chakra."

"Well, how do I learn you already turned me down." She said, dejected.

"Training, Tomorrow at sunrise." Kai said simply.

"I thought you wouldn't teach me." She pointed out.

"No," Kai corrected. "I couldn't teach you when you lacked the mana necessary to use the dragoon spirit."

He then left, saying he would see her in the morning. After a few minutes, an anbu showed up and brought her to the Hokage, looking confused as to why he had to carry her.

Hiruzen had mixed feelings when he heard her report. On the one hand, she was bound to become much stronger. But on the other hand, she was no longer fit for duty currently and no idea when she would be able to do missions again. At least Kai had agreed to train her.
