Chapter 16 Escape
POV Hiruzen Sarotobi
"Where is he Danzo?" Hiruzen demanded loudly while in the Hokages office. "He is in my possession Root needs that kind of power." Danzo responded "That is not your call Danzo." Hiruzen replied. Koharu Utatane stated " The boy is an unknown Hiruzen leave him to Danzo for now." Homura Mitikado agreed saying " His power needs to be investigated let danzo do his job." Hiruzen sighed before replying " If any harm comes to him you can consider yourself exiled." Those words made all three sweat Hiruzen was not Hokage for nothing he could easily beat all three of them, and they knew it.
After they left, Hiruzen sighed. If this was handled wrong, then they could not only lose Kai with that mysterious power but also Naruto. That was not to mention Kakashi and Jariya, who would be furious if anything happened to Minato's sons. Those three were playing with fire, and Hiruzen had a feeling his old friends had started the countdown to their deaths.
POV Kai
Kai awoke and he was groggy. as his memory came back he realized he had been kidnapped. He was strapped to a chair in an underground room across from him there is his armor sword and the Dragoon Spirit on the table. "Where am I?" He asked. "Root headquarters. Congratulations, you are my newest recruit." Danzo said as he came out of the shadow.
*Ding* Emergency Quest Escape
get away from Danzo and give him a reason not to follow. Reward Hint to next dragoon location.
"And if I refuse?" Kai asked, buying time. Danzo chuckled, "not like you have a choice, once I put the seals on you you will be just another tool." He began to walk towards Kai clearly intending to seal him.
Kai was concentrating on the dragoon spirit, letting Danzo talk. He felt the connection and called to it. Danzo was distracted as the stone began to glow before shooting across the room into Kai's hand. With a flash of light that blinded Danzo and his guards, Kai transformed, snapping the restraints. Kai slammed Danzo into the wall knocking him out. As the guards recovered they heard "Divine dragon cannon" as a burst of energy blew them away as it blasted a hole in the root base. Kai quickly flew out escaping the base he landed outside the village.
Kai sighed in his escape he lost the armor and sword. He had nothing but the clothes on his back. (Now what? I can't go back to Konoha after all Danzo is powerful there and there is no way the Hokage had no idea about my capture.)
*Ding Mission complete* Next Dragoon spirit is located in a fallen kingdom surrounding by swirling waters.
"That can only mean the village hidden in the whirlpools." Kai thought outloud. I'll send a letter to Naruto at the border, but I better get moving. Kai got his bearing and set out for the coast. He stopped outside a village after nightfall and stole a shirt and a hatchet before continuing on.
POV Hiruzen
Hiruzen was furious. "You what! I warned you and now what. Kai is gone, that can only be covered up for so long. Naruto's loyalty might waiver if he find out his village abducted his brother. And Kakashi and Jariya will be furious. You idiots have single handedly alienated some of the most powerful people the leaf village has."
Danzo tried to defend himself, stating that that kind of power needed to be controlled. Hiruzen refused to listen. " You already were on thin ice after the Uchiha Massacre and now this you have 1 hour to leave the village or you will be executed instead."
Hiruzen sent anbu to monitor Danzo. He then called an emergency meeting of all available Jonin. When they gathered, he explained that Kai had run away. He then assigned every jonin not currently on a mission to look for Kai. They were told to treat this as if looking for a Jenchuriki. He only hoped he could find Kai quickly and get him back to the village before anything went wrong.
