8 Side Arc 1: Talent Show and Yakko's World.
[Kaito POV]
I'm only 1 week away from my birthday and currently I am waiting for my turn in this regional talent show competition, now I know what you are thinking "But Kaito why would a refine person such as yourself bother with such an ignorant competition?" to answer that my friends we have to go a week back in time.
(Flashback 1 week)
[Kai POV]
I was minding my own business after doing my regular routine, I woke up, had breakfast, left to kinder until 12:00PM, played with Midoriya and company, trained the incomplete demon slayer breathing, ate a snack, talked with mom about the books, ate dinner with mom, brushed my teeth and went to sleep.
However, this particular day I didn't wanted to play so I went directly home and watched TV to see the quality comparison with my old world, until I saw something that would change my life.
"Have you ever had the feeling that you were special? That your abilities exceeded others? That you were destined for greatness? Well, if you are then come and participate in "Talented Gemstones". I'm your hostess Du-pan-cheng Celia, for those who are hearing this for the first time this is a show in which kids from Musutafu gather and compete for a grand prize. The winner of this competition will receive a family ticket to go to I-Island. Yes, that's right I-Island also known as one of the biggest gadgets research centers in the world".
"But winning won't be easy, to win you'll have to surpass challenges and surpass the competition, we are currently having auditions for the show in XXXXXXXX so remember to come by if you think you are special *wink*".
After seeing and hearing this I had 2 thoughts, the first one being the horrible publicity the show has of course and the other one is about the prize of going to I-Island. Regardless of how smart I am and how much I can memorize I still have my limits so a research island that creates gadgets of all kind is like a toy store to me.
I immediately went to ask mom about the contest so she took me there seeing how eager I was and she agreed but told me in 2 days since she was busy with the books and the inscription time permitted it.
When we reached, we had to present a medical document to confirm that the kid's body is healthy and does not harm himself or the other contestants.
I'll admit, I didn't expect such a horribly announced show had this much concern towards its participants, but I wasn't bothered so it didn't matter.
Of course, once they saw the word "quirkless" the stares began, and they weren't discrete about it, it was as if they were announcing the second coming of Christ.
Obviously, I didn't give a fuck but my mother was both mad and sad so I tell her "Relax mother I'll show this wannabe a real competitor".
She got happy and told me "Remember to have fun Kaito".
I smiled back at her and went to the waiting room.
The atmosphere was intense, everyone was glancing at each other looking to separate the ones that were a menace and those who weren't.
The auditions passed by and it was my turn so what did I did you ask? Oh, nothing I simply sang one of the best songs in the world while performing the best guitar solo: Pink Floyd – 'Comfortably Numb.
The judges were amazed but I came prepared these 2 days I practiced this song like crazy and with the breathing I was able to do more repetitions. Needless to say, I passed and enter the actual contest.
The next day was the first competition, it was Thursday and I had my next act ready to win, my opponent had the ability to stretch he's fingers beyond normal humans' capacity and went and did juggle with bowling pins, it was nice but I had confidence in my act.
For my act I played The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini using a violin of course there was some audio as background instruments like drums and others but the rapid pace of me touching the instruments was artistical and the judges thought the same because I won.
The next day I was paired with a guy that could breathe fire but I had to splash him with cold water because I'm winning this gig. My performance this time was a blade dance and yes, I used actual blades that I "borrowed" from the smithy, I would throw them up while dancing I'm still here by Sia, I would catch them mid-air and block incoming ones, throw curves and still dodge them at the rhythm of the music and without getting anything hurt.
I won of course but mom was so pissed at me that she spanked me, like literally at back-stage she told me to drop the blades and sit on her lap and so did I but then, with a swift movement I was lying down on her knees and my pants were down, I swear I was so nervous I thought I would awaken the demon slayer mark.
"So Kaito why do you have those blades?" she asked with a smile that would make the Red-Hot Habanero proud.
"Mother…well…you see… the thing is…." *SLAP* was what I heard and felt in my left under cheek and almost started crying.
After getting "reprimanded" my mother told me "Now remember I did this because I love you and what you did worried me sick, so don't do it again ok?" she had a worrisome look on her face and like any other kid with burnt buns I said "yes mother I promise".
After that I had to cancel my act of creating a makeshift flamethrower so I had to do a las minute preparation.
(Flashback END)
Which brings us to this Saturday aka the last day of the contest in which I will perform my final act.
I am wearing a costume of some kind of black mammal with white face and red nose using pants colored smokey topaz and a black belt with a yellow buckle, yes that's right I'm dressed as one of the Warner Brothers and Sister, Yakko Warner.
The reason to this is none other than the fact that I love Animaniacs its literally the show that inspired me to learn English, and of course as the eldest Warner sibling I had to sing the best Animaniacs's song ever created: "Yakko's world", also known as the nations of the world.
I know it's silly but cut me some slack I'm just a kid jeesh.
[Third person POV]
"Good night, everybody!! How are you doing, this night we will be seeing our final contestant Kobayashi Kaito, it is the first time in this show's history in which a kid without a quirk has gotten this far, but the question is, will he have what it takes to win?" Celia Presented passionately.
"Our las contestant used psychic powers to deflect actual bullets, that is right folks' actual bullets and a kid deflected them so easily. Will our quirkless boy overcome such performance or will he's luck run out and will taste defeat".
"Now with that out of the way contestant Kaito's performance is...singing all of the world countries of the year 1993. That is oddly specific but who cares, let us see if he's performance can give him the win"
(What no one didn't expected was that the bullets that were blocked caused some damage at the stage creating hazards that no one bothered to check).

The stage fell and everyone was shocked and some even evacuated, in the cloud of dust a silhouette was moving forward still with the board and that was Kaito panting tired from his performance.
"so *pant…pant* how did I do?" he asked catching he's breath.
Almost immediately the judges gave him a perfect score and Kaito won.
"Amazing ladies and gentlemen our quirkless contestant have managed to win the big prize, he destroyed the competition despite being quirkless and managed to win a free 10 days ticket to I-ISLAND!"
"Any words for winning Kaito-kun?" Celia asked in an adorable tone.
"Yes, guess what kind of animal I am" Kaito asked hiding his smirk.
"Mhh, ah I got it, are you a puss?" Celia answered forgetting she was in national TV.
"*SMOOCH* GOODNIGHT, EVERYBODY" Kaito said before turning off the camera.
And like that Kaito won the contest and now is looking forward the he's next destination: I-ISLAND.
