43 A New Variable Appears.

Kaito came into scene to battle against Stain. His sword was a normal katana with a blue handle, his mask was on and his sleeves were shortened.

"You are…the kid without quirk." Stain.

"The man, the myth, the soon-to-be legend." Kaito.

"Getting arrogant I see." Stain.

"Nope! Just calculating the how fast must I draw my sword to push you out of the alley." Kaito.

Before Stain could answer, Kaito delivers another blast of wind towards Stain and this time he gets pushed back.

'These wind blasts, they're not as strong as the last one but, it managed to make me move. His body is clearly stronger than an average adult, the slashes were perfectly executed as well. Enough to blast me away but minimize the damage. What an interesting hero.' Stain.

Stain was now standing in the street expecting Kaito to appear from the alley but, to his surprise, he appeared above of him.

Kaito slashes towards Stain but he dodges at the last second. Stain uses those few seconds of opening to attack him with his Katana but Kaito defends with his second sword.

'Water Breathing: Second Form: Lateral Water Wheel!'

Kaito changes the position of his sword, sticking it into the ground, and with his right hand he grabs his other sword, blocking Stain's attack. He twisted his body laterally to deflect Stain's attack.

The little clash lasted around a few seconds before Kaito got his feet in the floor and began the next attack.

'Water Breathing: Third Form: Flowing Dance!'

Kaito swings and bends his blade in a winding motion along with his body and dances in a flowing pattern, slicing everything in its path.

Stain has a bad time adapting the elusive strikes and get smaller cuts. Stain throws a smoke bomb at Kaito but he deflects it instead of slashing through it.

'This kid has everything! From the techniques to the mindset.' Stain looks at the alley and finds no one there.

'He even managed to distract me long enough so that the injured could get evacuated. Guess there's only one thing left to confirm…'

"Why are you fighting…kid?" Stain.

Kaito ignores his question and decides to keep the barrage of attacks. From quick slashes to rapid lunges, Kaito was dominating the battle. The battle continued for a while longer, Stain tried every trick in his book to make Kaito bleed but couldn't do anything.

Kaito stomps on Stain's foot and then headbutts him. Stain takes some steps back to maintain his distance.

"Why should I answer such question?" Kaito.

Stain couldn't understand the why Kaito would answer at that point but decided to answer.

"This whole world is rotten. Fake heroes everywhere, hypocrites among the masses and those with political power and those with twisted ambitions that try to burn the world. Why a quirkless person like yourself would try to fight and or stop said people?" Stain.

"Why? To be honest…all of that annoys me." Kaito.

Stain gets surprised by his answer and tries to speak but Kaito interrupts him.

"But, its not because of them that I fight. I fight for those who are having a worst life, for those whose hearts are filled with hatred, for those who are in pain right now and can't do a thing about it." Kaito.

"You're still just a quirkless kid and you know it." Stain.

"It's precisely because I'm a quirkless kid that it matters."

Stain widens his eyes.

"I alone can't change society, that's a fact. However, as long as I am alive, I'll help anyone within my reach, collaborate with my classmates to become stronger, and hopefully, one day, that this era of quirks may advance towards a better future." Kaito.

Stain is speechless. All his life, he thought that All Might was the one to bring said era, and even thought he still holds him in high esteem, he realized the flawed system of a single symbol of peace.

He understood Kaito's ideals and prepares a firm stance, he was ready to attack him with all his might.

"Prepare yourself kid, I wont hold anything back!" Stain.

*BOOM*

A large explosion came from the alley and a few heroes were blown away landing into the street unconscious.

Both Stain and Kaito stopped the fight and analyzed the situation.

A big white Nomu with blue eyes came from the alley, it had 6 arms and jaw-like mark in its torso. In one of his arms, he was holding the limb of a hero.

Deku quickly appeared besides Kaito.

"What happened, Midoriya?" Kaito.

"A big Nomu appeared from nowhere and attacked us, most of us were fine but…many heroes were knocked down." Midoriya.

"What about the ones who were heavily injured?" Kaito.

"They're fine. The moment the Nomu appeared, they were translated as far away as possible." Midoriya.

"Good, what about Iida?" Kaito.

"He's actually…" Midoriya got cut off.

"Recipro Burst!" Iida.

A loud explosion-like sound was heard from the alley, Iida lunged himself at high speed against the Nomu and kicks his chest. The Nomu is unaffected and tries to retaliate but gets frozen.

"Iida, retreat!" Todoroki.

Todoroki kept generating ice to maintain the Nomu trapped inside of it, despite him breaking it apart every two seconds.

"Seems like this is farewell." Stain states as he leaves.

'Not good! Stain HAS to be captured during this event.'

"Midoriya! Todoroki! Iida! Capture Stain, I'll take things from here!" Kaito ordered.

The trio flinch at his command and doubt whether to follow it.

"Kai…" Midoriya was cut off.

"I can handle this! If Stain escapes now, who knows how many heroes will die by his hands! He must be stopped now!" Kaito spoke as he made his way towards the Nomu.

The three heroes were still skeptical about leaving Kaito by himself fighting the Nomu, but they understood that what he said was right.

"Don't die Kaito-san!" Midoriya.

"We'll be back as fast as we can!" Todoroki.

"Of course! By the way…if he escapes…I'll mock you guys for the rest of schoolyear!" Kaito ran towards the Nomu and prepared a stance.

"Hunter Breathing: Fourth Form: Nitoryu Ogi: Sanzen Sekai!"

Kaito holds his two katanas at an angle against each other and rotates them rapidly while running towards his opponent to create momentum.

The Nomu breaks the ice and is about to wreak havoc once again but Kaito slices him up with full speed and power with both of his swords at once.

The Nomu shrieks in agony as his body begins to twitch from the attack.

"Not enough power. It'll be wise to defeat him as fast as I can. Otherwise, he could cause more damage."

'He's one of them. An anomaly!' Kaito.

Kaito takes out the Demon-Dweller and Demon-Slayer from Nezuko and puts his Katanas back inside.

"Ok ugly. Time to test my improved Darkness Breathing." Kaito.

Kaito pressed a button in Demon-Dweller and some iron sand came out of it. the iron sand stick together in the edge of the sword, causing it to have more range.

(Flashback, a few days after the Hero name class)

'Iron sand you say?' Mashiro, the smithy, asked.

'Yes, I have this idea about creating a specific electromagnetic field for them to stick to my swords.' Kaito.

'All of them?'

'Nope, just the Demon ones.'

'Hm…it is a hard request, taking into account that such prowess aint exactly my specialty…wait!'

Mashiro began to look through some papers and found one in specific. The number was from a notorious store and he handed it to Kaito.

'The fella running this store has more than enough money and connections to do what you're planning.'

'Why do you have Hermes's store address?'

'Why do you know about Hermes?'

'Fine, I didn't want to resort to him but alas, there's nothing else, right?'

'Kiddo, believe me, I'm also not fond of the rich guy but, he's probably the only one who can help you with said mechanism.'

Kaito nods and takes his swords, the iron sand and his plans.

The mechanism follows the basis of magnetic fields, the iron sand fells attracted to them and stick to whichever object has the strongest magnetic field. Kaito's swords were imbued with a magnetic field of specific voltage that reacts with the one in the iron sand, which was also calibrated to be in sync with the swords.

You ask how? None of your business, in a world full of superpowers, logic has been rendered useless. To make it short, Hermes did it, end of the explanation.

Kaito began to slash the Nomu with his darkened blade, the iron sand was slowly getting inside the injuries despite them getting healed. The Nomu used one of its arms to attack Kaito but he dodged.

Kaito kept attacking the Nomu's extremities and his swords were losing more and more iron sand.

The Nomu tried a desperate attack to kill Kaito by generating a spiky steel rod from its arm.

Kaito manages to avoid the attack and analyses the Nomu.

'High regeneration, super strength, and whatever that should be called. Why do I feel that something is missing, I'm sure that potato face wouldn't bring a high roller like this one if not to do something else.' Kaito.

The Nomu began to create more and more spiky steel rods from the ground, aiming to pierce Kaito's body in any way.

While dodging, Kaito hears a small whine in a building. He then gets on top of another building and uses his Beast Breathing: Seventh Fang: Spatial Awareness to find the source.

"H----he...p...me-------." Kaito heard the voice.

The Nomu didn't let Kaito rest and began another assault, this time faster than before.

Kaito barely managed to evade the attack and realized that the Nomu is adapting to his abilities, each time Kaito does something, the Nomu adapts to counter the technique.

Kaito tries to attack him with the weight of Demon-Slayer but fails due to the Nomu being physically stronger.

'I wonder how Deku and the rest are doing.' Kaito.

(With Midoriya's group)

The trio was fighting The Hero Killer Stain, the other pro-heroes, minus the previously injured ones, were knocked down by the Nomu, meaning that there was no one to help them.

Stain was standing with a few bruises, burning marks and cuts in his body, whereas the trio was panting on the floor. Midoriya's body was already tired from "Overdrive" so the strength he could exert wasn't optimal, Iida was paralyzed by Stain's quirk, only Todoroki was still able to move, though his objective was more to prevent Stain from escaping.

"You three are good, but unfortunately, that's not nearly enough to stop me." Stain.

"Damn! Is he really tired?!" Iida.

"Koba---I mean, Hashira was battling him for quite some time, and even cornered him up. Yet, the three of us are struggling." Todoroki.

"Sorry, I'm slowing you guys down." Midoriya.

"Don't worry, Midoriya. Just stay in the back and wait for a chance to strike him." Iida.

"I really like that kid, the one with the swords." Stain.

The trio look at him.

"He reminds me of my past-self. Ignorant, naïve, full of dreams waiting to be shattered by the society." Stain.

"What are you talking about." Midoriya.

"Kid, this society is filled with fake heroes...and the criminals who wave their power around idly...should all be purged!"

"I'm not calling my actions neither noble or righteous, but they're necessary for a better society. A society in which heroes are those who fight the fear in the hearts of the weak. People in high power think that they have the authority to decide who's more fit to be a hero, those who are praised have their lives filled with luxury and prestige."

"And those who are not, are despised, feared and discriminated. I've seen many "criminals" with higher morals than these so-called 'heroes'" Stain.

"What does Kobayashi have to do with that?" Todoroki.

'Good Frost-Fire, keep the monologue as much as you can.' Iida.

"He has the everything a hero should have. A selfless nature, a set of skills to apprehend villains and rescue civilians, the ability to not let the villain a single moment to recover his energy." Stain.

After that last sentence, Stain threw some flashbangs to Todoroki, blinding him.

"ARGH!" Todoroki.

That very moment, Stain seized the chance and stabbed Todoroki's shoulder. He wastes no time and licks it, paralyzing Todoroki.

"As I said, he's a worthy person of being called a hero, so are you three but, you're still lacking compared to him." Stain retrieves his sword and begins to walk away.

The trio helplessly watched as Stain walks off but then…

*STOMP*

Midoriya gets back up.

"Midoriya…" Iida.

"I…will not---allow you---to escape! I will definitely capture you!" Midoriya.

"Seems that I was partially wrong, show me what you've got, kid." Stain unsheathes both his Katana and machete.

Midoriya clashed with Stain's swords once again. Midoriya was currently using Overdrive, which was causing a deep pain in his body each time he moved.

Stain slashed as a maniac, knowing that he only needed a single drop of blood to defeat him. He was almost possessed, the tiredness in his body was evident, he couldn't keep the pace anymore, either he wins and escapes, or loses and his quest ends as a failure.

Midoriya kicks the floor and shatters it but Stain doesn't lose balance and stabs Midoriya. Midoriya looks at the blade and using his other hand punches the side of the blade, shattering into pieces.

Stain was surprised but he didn't count that Midoriya has trained with Kaito and he has teached him how to defend against multiple types of weapons.

Midoriya follows the attack with a kick that sends Stain up in the air. The villain looks at Midoriya and notices that he's already reached his limit.

'The next attack, will be the final one. Either I win and escape or the kid wins and captures me.' Stain.

Stain unsheathes two machetes and takes a diving position. He begins to descend towards Midoriya, who can't move.

'My legs are at their limit, if I don't do anything now, I'll die. Think, how can I not only avoid the machetes, but also counter?' Midoriya muttered to himself.

Midoriya come up with a reckless idea.

'Guess it'll be do or die.' Midoriya.

Midoriya grasped the last remnants of OFA in both of his hands.

Stain keeps descending, each time faster, to pierce through Midoriya. Midoriya raises his hands and decides to block the machetes with his hands.

Stain descends and stabs through Midoriya's hands, Midoriya muster his strength to keep the machetes from descending further into his body and barely manages to avoid a chest injury.

"Shame, I still win, kid." Stain speaks and tries to release the machetes, only to get caught by Midoriya's pierced hands.

"Huh?" Stain.

"I told you… you wouldn't escape me tonight!" Midoriya.

Midoriya then moves his arms fall to the side, making Stain get closer to his range of attack.

'New Orleand's…SMASH!!!' Midoriya.

Midoriya's OFA energy changed its course and went to his head. He headbutts Stains forehead and makes him lose consciousness.

Midoriya drops on the floor and is over-exhausted and panting. Todoroki and Iida appear afterwards to retain the Hero Killer.

"Midoriya, how are you feeling?" Iida.

"Horrible. Every limb from my body aches with pain." Midoriya.

"Let's hope nothing got broken." Todoroki.

"I'll carry you." Iida carries Midoriya in his back.

Suddenly, an explosion is heard from the distance.

*BOOOM*

"Isn't that Kaito's direction?" Todoroki.

"Yeah, we must hurry and call for some more backup." Iida.

"Iida…we…" Midoriya.

"I also want to help, but we're clearly not in the position to make demands. We are not in a condition for another battle. My legs are bleeding too much, Todoroki is over-frozen, and you can barely remain conscious." Iida.

The two wanted to talk back but knew that Iida was right.

'I hope you're fine…Kaito.' Midoriya thought while seeing the big cloud from the explosion.

The surroundings were destroyed and now, there was a crater in the middle of what used to be the street. Kaito was kneeling while panting with some injuries all over his body and the Nomu was trying to regenerate two arms but couldn't.

"Time to end this!" Kaito.
