9 The One With The Love Lifes

Joey: "of course, it was a line"

Joey and the rest and f the guys were seated at their usual spot in the coffee house except from Monica who was standing and Adam and Rachel who went out.

Monica: "why? Why would anybody do something like that?"

Ross: "I assume we are looking for an answer more sophisticated than 'to get you into bed'"

Ross said as he sat in the main seat with a book on his laps.

Monica: "is it me? Is it like I have some sort of beacon that only dogs and men with severe emotional problems can hear?"

Phoebe: "all right, come here give me your feet"

Phoebe who sat on the floor said to Monica who went to her and sat besides her and gave Phoebe her leg.

Monica: "I just thought that he was nice, you know?"

Monica said as everywhere became silent as they knew how she was feeling right now.

Joey: "pfft. (He became silent for a while before he laughed and continued) I can't believe you didn't know it was a line"

Monica: "ohh, come on"

Monica said as she pushed him out of the sofa.

Chandler: "you know, you Geller's youngsters are not particularly favoured when it comes to their love life"

Chandler said as he sip his coffee like a wise man as everyone looked at him.

Chandler: "I mean, Ross got married to Carol, you got played by 'Paul, the wine guy' and Adam, with all of his wealth and fame is still unmarried and we all know he still does not have a girlfriend, not even one from the time that I know him"

Phoebe: "oh, that's true, Ross, you also give me your feet"

Phoebe also supported Chandler as she also called out to Ross who refused with the speed of light.

Ross: "hey, there is nothing wrong with us, okay, Adam isn't ready to settle down right now and Monica, she hasn't found the one who is meant for her, and, and me..."

Ross paused as he didn't have anything anymore to say about himself.

Chandler: "you found the right one for you but she turned out to be a Lesbian, so yeah, Carol might not have been your other half, is that correct?"

Chandler said as he looked at Ross who couldn't refute him.

Ross: "say whatever you want, but all I know is that, there is nothing wrong with our love life"

As they were talking, Adam walks inside followed by Rachel who was happy for a reason only she knows.

Rachel: "guess what"

Ross: "you got a job?"

Rachel: "are you kidding? I'm trained for nothing"

Adam: "and surprisingly you seem happy about it, which is not supposed to be so given you were unable to get a job, did you even tried to look for a job?"

Rachel: "well, I tried my best but I was laughed out of 12 interviews today"

Chandler: "and yet, you are surprisingly upbeat"

Chandler said to the already sour moody Rachel due to Adam's words earlier but today she was happy and she is not going to let anyone ruin it for her.

Rachel: "well, you would be too, if you found Joan and David boots on sale, 50 percent off"

Rachel said as she brought out what was inside the bag she was holding as she handed it to Monica.

Chandler: "oh, how well you know me"

Chandler said as Adam and Ross laughed.

Rachel: "they are my new 'I don't need a job or my parents, I've got great boots' boots"

Rachel admired her new boot as she turned them around to show her friends.

Monica: "how'd you pay for them?"

Rachel: "uh, credit card"

Monica: "and who pays for that?"

Rachel: "um, my father"

Rachel said as she went to get herself a coffee.

Adam: "and then she says she did not need her parents. I pity her sometimes, but that's not why I'm here, guess what"

Chandler: "sigh, you too?"

Chandler commented as Adam also used the line Rachel used earlier.

Adam: "will you just shut up for once, anyway, I have purchased the building across yours"

Ross: "what, why did you buy it, I thought you already have building you are working on, or are you planning on getting into the real estate business?"

Adam: "come on, Ross, do I seem like someone who would go into that, I am a scientist, I create things, I can't do something like that. I bought the building to demolish it, so that I can build a nightclub here, you know, I plan on making Manhattan, the heart of New York, after the buildings are completed, Manhattan would be like no other"

Adam said with a smile.

Joey: "bullshit, you don't care about Manhattan or anything, you are just doing it for yourself"

Adam: "yep"

Phoebe: "oh, so what is going to happen to ugly naked guy?"

Monica, Joey and Chandler: "oh, that's right"

Rachel: "who is ugly naked guy?"

Rachel, who has just returned with the coffee asked.

Monica: "he is a guy who lives in the building across ours, he is always naked and sits by the window from time to time"

Adam: "I see, well, he can move to other places, he is not going stay there all his life"

Adam said as he was not bothered about the ugly naked guy as he was just a character that was not even a side character.

Phoebe: "don't be rude, he is a person"

That's when he really it Adam that he is real, since this is a real world and not a TV show but that did not change his mind about demolishing the apartment.

Adam: "well, I can just compensate them handsomely and also give them some time to get a new place, is that good, Phoebe Buffay?"

Phoebe: "that's better, and don't disregard another life like that, they are all living beings, so we have to treat each life with respect"

Adam: "including rats?"

Adam asked Phoebe as he remembered when she took care of some baby rats when she and Mike accidentally killed of the mother.

Phoebe: "yeess, you've just gave me a very good idea, you are good, I see why you managed to make your company a very successful one, but too bad, your love life sucks, come here give me your feet too"

Adam wondered what his business, his love life had to do with what they were talking about and worst of all, she said he 'managed' to make his company so successful, he didn't dwell on it much as he just attributed it to her character, she is known for saying unrelated stuffs at times.

Adam: "and why should I do that?"

Phoebe: "I want to help you with your love life, I mean we can't have you remain single for the rest of your life"

Phoebe said as if it was an obvious thing to the group.

Adam: "where you guys talking about me when I was nor here?"

Phoebe: "not only you, but all Geller's youngsters, apparently your love lifes sucks"

Adam looked at Chandler knowing fully well he is the only one that could say something like that.

Chandler: "don't look at me like that, I was just saying what I knew"

Adam: "I don't have your time right now. Hey, Monica, do you have anything at your apartment to be eaten"

Monica: "no, but I can go make something right now"

Adam: "forget it, I will make it myself"

Adam said as he made his way to Monica's apartment as the others followed him as they don't have anything to do anymore and there was stars in Monica's eyes when she heard Adam said he was going to do the cooking himself.
