Goten and the others were flying towards Zamasu and Black Goku. They came to a halt as they noticed a dazzling ray of light in the distance, prompting all three to stop and gaze in that direction.
At this moment, Trunks and Krillin couldn't sense Zamasu's Ki at all. However, Goten, who had mastered Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego, could sense it clearly.
"What just happened with that light?" Krillin quickly turned to Goten and asked, suspecting it might be related to the Black Goku from before.
Although he didn't understand what had occurred, he also couldn't sense Black Goku's Ki anymore. Yet, for some reason, he had an uneasy feeling, as if something bad was about to happen.
Trunks was equally puzzled. Whenever he saw Black Goku, his aura was always dark or purple. So why was the light just now white? In an instant, the light was as radiant as the sun, illuminating the entire dark earth.
"We'll find out soon," Goten replied confidently. He knew that Zamasu and Black Goku had fused together. It was probably because Black Goku had felt powerless on his own and didn't want to take the risk of fighting alone. Their plan to eradicate mortals had taken a long time to craft and they couldn't afford any mistakes. Hence, the early fusion.
In their minds, Goten and the others had likely become a threat to their ultimate goal. As they pondered these thoughts, a silver-white light began to rise nearby.
"Let's go check it out," Goten said, and in a flash, he led Krillin and Trunks to the source of the white light.
When they arrived, the figure of the fused Zamasu stood before them.
"What's going on? Who is this guy? Why haven't I seen him before?" Trunks asked, his face showing great fear and confusion.
Zamasu's body radiated a dazzling aura, akin to the perfect Ultra Instinct. His divine Ki was rapidly expanding.
"Nani?! I can't sense his Ki!" Krillin said, frowning. "But this overwhelming sense of oppression is unbelievable. Who is this guy?"
It was evident that this newcomer possessed power far beyond theirs, but the question remained: why had he suddenly appeared? His hairstyle resembled that of Goku's Super Saiyan form.
"Hahaha! Mortals, tremble before this unimaginable power!" Zamasu gloated. "Kneel and worship!"
"Fused with a Saiyan and an immortal god, I am now Zamasu, the mightiest god," he proclaimed as Goten and the others arrived.
As he spoke, a splendid spiritual energy enveloped his body, forming a silver-white halo behind him. Zamasu now truly looked like a god, yet his body exuded an evil energy even greater than that of the Gods of Destruction.
"Argh! I may not understand what's happening, but I won't let you continue to destroy the Earth," Trunks declared, his patience wearing thin. He drew the Brave Sword from his back and instantly transformed into Super Saiyan II before charging at Zamasu.
Zamasu retorted, "Foolish and ignorant insects, have you not realized the immense gap between us? Do you still dare resist a god? Mortals are always so foolish and self-righteous."
"Face the punishment and judgment of the mightiest god!" Zamasu declared. Purple lightning suddenly shot out from the silver halo behind him, striking Trunks, Goten, and Krillin simultaneously.
Boom!
Krillin and Trunks were instantly sent flying by the onslaught of purple lightning. Their current power levels were nowhere near that of Super Saiyan God, and the combined Zamasu in front of them had far surpassed that level.
Goten, on the other hand, remained unmoved, paying no attention to the attack. With his current physical strength, such an offensive was utterly inconsequential. He could abandon all defenses and still remain unharmed.
The fused Zamasu directed his gaze at Goten, showing no fear on his face. "Goten, I must admit that you possess power surpassing that of a god. This is the fault of the gods who allowed their creations to become more powerful than their creators. But soon, I will rectify the mistakes of the gods and bring justice to this land. Wherever the divine light shines, you impure beings shall vanish."
Goten responded coldly, "You've spouted enough nonsense. If you have any real power, show me."
Zamasu, even after fusion, didn't faze Goten. The only thing that concerned him was Zamasu's undying body, though it appeared to be weakened after the fusion.
"Insolent creature, have you not recognized the gap between us?" Zamasu retorted, his irritation evident. "Before the mightiest gods, you are nothing more than a fragile insect, easily crushed. Accept the cleansing light."
With a burst of purple energy from the halo behind him, a colossal purple bird-like creature formed. "Absolute Lighting!" Zamasu exclaimed, and a purple thunderbolt, akin to a python, surged toward Goten.
Unperturbed, Goten allowed the lightning to strike him, fully aware it wouldn't harm him. His body even possessed Majin Buu's regeneration abilities, making him practically invulnerable. The purple lightning engulfed him but left no trace of damage.
Zamasu wore a panicked expression, utterly surprised by Goten's resilience. The Absolute lighting was lethal against ordinary gods, but it had no effect on Goten.
"This is the power of the so-called mightiest god," Goten remarked, his tone calm, his eyes serious. He knew that eliminating Zamasu required more than just conventional strength. He needed to transform into the Legendary Super Saiyan form to utterly crush Zamasu's self-esteem and self-righteousness, making him realize his own weakness and the significance of mortals.
In the next second, a deep roar erupted from Goten's throat, and an overwhelming and terrifying power surged from his body instantly.
Rustling sounds filled the air as his grass-green, gaseous Ki continuously slapped against the surrounding atmosphere, creating energy ripples that expanded in all directions.
Rumble!
Simultaneously, the world underwent a dramatic transformation. Bathed in the radiant green ki, the entire sky and earth took on a lush, green hue. In the midst of this, golden lightning bolts, resembling colossal pythons, descended from the heavens.
"What? Is this... Goten's true strength?" Trunks exclaimed. "I can't fathom the kind of training he must've endured to reach this level."
The sheer, unimaginable power left Trunks in awe, like a turbulent wave crashing over him. He had never believed that a Saiyan could possess such incredible strength.
"Goten is always full of surprises," Krillin remarked proudly. "Every transformation he undergoes represents a quantum leap in power. It's a point of pride to be friends with him."
However, Trunks couldn't ignore the peculiar green Ki surrounding Goten. "But... why is Goten's Ki green? I thought Saiyans had golden Ki when they became Super Saiyans."
Trunks sensed that something was amiss as Goten was clearly on the verge of transforming into a Super Saiyan, yet his Ki was green, unlike the familiar golden aura. This left him genuinely puzzled.
Krillin responded vaguely, "That's what sets Goten apart. He's different from other Saiyans after transforming. You'll see soon."
The reason behind Goten's unique transformation remained a mystery even to Krillin. He'd never encountered a Saiyan with green hair and Ki before.
Zamasu, however, was in disbelief. "No...impossible! How could this little brat possess such extraordinary power? This is a Mortal, as insignificant as an ant. Why does he wield such immense strength? This is the ultimate insult to a god!"
Faced with Goten's overwhelmingly potent aura, Zamasu was left dumbfounded. He'd anticipated that the fusion would grant them power to easily vanquish all Mortals. Yet here stood Goten, possessing power that defied belief.
Even Zamasu began to question his own strength after the fusion. Could it be that despite the fusion's ever-expanding might, it still paled in comparison to a mere ant in his eyes?
As everyone grappled with their astonishment, Goten completed his transformation.
Rustling sounds filled the air as the grass-green flames continued to flicker and his golden aura danced around his body, resembling a small, golden serpent. His hair turned green, and his pupils shone with a golden hue. In this moment, Goten ascended into the Legendary Super Saiyan II.
To completely shatter Zamasu's confidence, Goten knew he had to reveal the full extent of his power, rendering Zamasu powerless.
Glancing at the bewildered Zamasu, Goten taunted, "Zamasu, are you frightened? It's quite ludicrous for you, the mightiest god, to fear an ant."
Zamasu seethed, "Ants! Do not think you can be arrogant just because you've gained some power. Gods are beyond your reach. I will use your blood to prove this eternal truth."
While Goten's newfound power stirred fear in him, Zamasu's undying and perfect form convinced him he could not be defeated. He believed he would grow even stronger during the battle and eventually overpower his opponent.
Swish!
The moment the word left Zamasu's lips, his body materialized right in front of Goten. He swiftly threw a punch, fully aware that his previous energy attack had been ineffective against Goten. Hand-to-hand combat was the only option.
As their fists clashed, a deafening boom echoed through the surroundings, unleashing terrifying shockwaves that reduced the city's ruins to dust beneath their feet. A massive sinkhole rapidly formed on the ground, causing further devastation to the already battered landscape.
"Krillin, I need to help the survivors," Trunks exclaimed. He realized that if the fight continued in this manner, the Earth would be torn apart, and the remaining survivors would be in peril. Saving those people was his last bastion of hope for protecting the Earth.
Krillin nodded in agreement. As the punch collision subsided, Zamasu was sent hurtling thousands of feet away, his arm instantly numb. There was a series of crisp, cracking sounds, and Zamasu's halo began to fracture. With one final shattering sound, it disintegrated into faint starlight. A single punch from Goten had shattered the godly halo that adorned Zamasu.
"Foul insects are unforgivable!" Zamasu howled like a beast, overcome with shame. Only by vanquishing the ant before him could he erase this disgrace.
However, as he prepared to strike, Goten transformed into a green lightning bolt and appeared before him in an instant. He delivered a powerful right hook to Zamasu's face, distorting it grotesquely.
"Great job, Goten! That's it, take care of that demon!" Krillin cheered with excitement. He had initially assumed Zamasu was incredibly powerful based on his entrance, but it was clear that Goten was overpowering him with ease.
The furious Zamasu struggled to fight back, while Goten's speed left him virtually defenseless. Goten sent Zamasu tumbling around like a ball, inflicting endless humiliation on the fallen god, who was in agony.
Another thunderous blow landed as Goten punched Zamasu on the head, sending the villain crashing into the ground like a falling meteorite. Zamasu swiftly rose to his feet, his undying body proving to be a significant challenge.
"This guy's undying body is really troublesome," Goten muttered. Without that resilience, the earlier attack would have eradicated him entirely.
"Enough!" Zamasu bellowed. "Wretched insects! I am the mightiest god; your insolence has limits-!" However, as his voice trailed off, Goten seized his ankle and began swinging him from side to side.
"Tsk! A weak god," Goten responded.
