3 Chapter 3

On the Eastern outskirts of a rural village with a weird styled building in the middle. A female cat person and a male chienthrope walked down the streets of their village quickly.

*Pitter-patter*

It was raining heavily, turning the ground into mud. This rain was a sign indicating the rainy season had come, and that it was the start of a new year.

They continued to walk until the man started talking.

"A new year, huh? It seems this time the crops will be plentiful. It was about time, things had been hard already with those monsters attacking us. Thankfully the hunters are good at their job and cleaned the area, else we would've been In some trouble." Said the man

" I heard they cleared a goblin nest right?" Asked the woman.

The man nodded but seemed worried.

"Let's just hope no more monsters attack." He replied

The woman looked to her left as she saw a basket in front of their house. As the sky crumbled, with lightning illuminating from.

Gasp

"Is that a baby?" She said to her husband as they have been trying to have a baby for over 3 years, maybe because their species of Demi human were different making it harder to conceive.

Hearing her word the man looked at the direction she was pointing and noticed a baby in a basket.

The baby looked weird with small bumps on its head, a tail covered in black scales, pointed ears, dark leather looking skin, eyes with slits in the pupil and a cute face.

" Is that a baby or a monster child" the man said in a frightened voice.

" I don't think so, monsters don't leave baby's in baskets and there is no way a monster could infiltrate our village without anyone knowing. We have too many retired adventurers here for that to happen, so he's probably of the demi human race, maybe an elf and reptilian type Demi human mix. But we should ask your parents when they get back from their travels. For now let's get the baby inside and asked around for the parents." the woman replied as she carried the basket in the house.

Noticing a note that says "Please take care of this child as he is the last of his race, the child will be a blessing to your family, as I hope he can survive and revive his race".

After reading the notes in the basket, the woman felt sad because no one would understand what it means to be the last of your kind she thought while passing the note to her husband.

"But why us, I know we don't have kids yet but someone better could have been chosen." The man said after reading the note.

"So what do you think, should we adopt him." The woman said in hopes that her husband would agree.

"Sigh, I know that look, fine we will go to the village chief and let everyone know if our new son." Hopefully he will truly be a blessing to our family . The man thought as it was getting late, he made his way to the village chief house leaving his wife to care for the child.

"Waah, waah" the child suddenly started crying. 'What do I do, could it be he is hungry' the woman thought as she made her way outside to their neighbours house to ask for help.

I woke up after god sent me to this world and found myself in a basket. It seemed I was in the front of someone's house. I had no idea where I was as it was raining and cold as hell, but I saw a cat girls walk toward me. She picked up my basket and carried me inside what I assume to be their house. I felt tired and fell asleep, probably because my body couldn't handle complicated thoughts, so I fell asleep. While I was sleeping I was jolted awake because my tail hurt and couldn't help but cry.

Arriving at neighbours house she knocked and a woman came to open the door.

"Rose can you help me, the baby is crying and I am not sure what's wrong." She said as the woman look shocked at the baby's features and asked " is that your baby Chise" as Chise told her how everything happened. Rose looking closer at the baby noticed Chise was holding the bay wrong and the baby's tail seemed to be folded in an awkward position. "Your folding his tail, that must be painful for him" she did after observing. " Ahh, sorry little one about that, it is my first time holding a baby like this" she said to the baby as she corrected her mistake and the baby stopped crying. " Can you give me tips on how to take care of a baby, as you had yours 5 months ago" she asked rose as she was welcomed inside to take a seat as they chatted away on how to take care of babies.

'Finally she is not squashing my tail' I thought as the pain finally stopped. They seemed to be talking about something but the language eluded me. ' No need to worry too much as I would probably learn it soon. Though I thought it would be Japanese as the language' I thought to myself as I went back to sleep.

After talking to Rose, I now knew how hard it was to take care of a child, my parents must have had a hard time Chise thought to herself as she made her way back home.

" Chise I am home, also got some milk from the shop" Mark said as he entered the house.

"Oh that great was going to get some myself as soon as you got back, so what did the chief say" Chise asked as she hugged the sleeping baby.

"There was no problem, I explained everything to him so he gave me the ok sign. We just have to think of a name for our little boy." He responded.

"How about Draco, I mean he looks like a dragon." Chise said.

"Hmm, that's ok I guess. So full name Draco black" he replied.

" Welcome to the Black family" Chise said in an exited tone as little Draco woke up because of all the noise.

I woke up again due to the constant ruckus around me as it seemed my potential parents were exited about something, So I just stared at them in amusement as they talked to each other in words I could not understand. Several minutes or hours later as I could not judge time, I was fed warm milk to satiate my hunger and put to bed.

/The next day/

Chise was nursing little Draco on the bed. While discussing something with her husband Mark.

"Did you notice, little Draco has heterochromatic eyes" Chise asked mark

" Yea I did, it was hard to notice last night, purple and blue eyes are a rare combination and his ears looks elven but not sure." Mark replied as he was preparing to welcome guests.

10 minutes later , Mark left and returned with several women. He led them to the room and once again went out go wait for more guests.

"Chise? Are you there?" Asked Rose softly.

"Yes, will be out in a minute" Chise replied as she was done cleaning Draco up.

Two hours later, the husbands of all of the women could be seen talking, while some were playing some card game.

"Be prepared to be sleepless for the next few years". Said one of the men in the room in which the others nodded in approval. The talks went on about various topics as Draco was introduced to everyone. They found him cute despite his monster looking part and some of the women even said he would be a lady killer in the future. Eventually, they all left, leaving some supplies behind to help the couple with their adopted son.
