Sitting on our bed I slipped my shirt back on. When I finished doing so, Bahamut handed me my status sheet. It's been 2 weeks since I became an adventurer and finally I had gone up to the 8th floor.
I had been a bit wary, because of the war shadows and killer ants. After all they are said to be newbie killers.
I was a solo adventurer, who was keeping bare minimum interaction with other adventures. Things could get dicey if I wasn't careful. Well things didn't go well for me once I entered the 6th floor, I was swarmed by killer ants which were annoying to deal with and nearly lost my head to a war shadow, but I was lucky as my quick reflex saved me.
People would think that I was insanely Op with cheats but reality was different.
Though I had boons, they didn't grant me instant power and required training. My magic was strong as it had no long chants but it was limited by my mind, intent and level, while my partial transformation was strong, I was also limited by stamina.
I didn't have anyone to cover my weak spots as there was only so much one could achieve on their own.
Worse of all I barely avoided some evilus members prowling the upper floors for newbies like me. I did not engage them in combat. Their levels were unknown to me and they always had a minimum of 3 people when moving.
Today, I updated my status to see how far I had grown. I decided to check my status bi weekly and would later transition to monthly checks as there was no point just seeing small increments in stats.

After seeing my growth, I wasn't impressed by the stats even if it could be said to be higher than the average adventurers growth in the same time frame. 'I need to up my grind and be level 2 before my sibling and friend arrive, though it may draw a lot of attention. I will probably level up less than a year and can't let myself remain weak. I have some people to save that died before canon' I thought to myself as I got ready to do the daily grind.
*6 months later*
It's been 6 months since my stay in Orario, I have grown at a decent pace. I also send letters back home each month to keep my family in touch on what's happening around me. My siblings seem to be growing well and it seems Clair would be coming to Orario along with my siblings.
This news made me happy. It would be a waste of her talent not being an adventurer especially with how good her spear skills were. My relationship with my goddess and Hephaestus had not moved to the stage I desired but it's a work in progress. I have also become an acquaintance of the Ganesha and Astraea familia. I met Ardee once in the dungeon along with some members of the Ganesha familia. Well it was all due to a misunderstanding as some evilus were targeting some newbies on the upper floors.
About 3 months ago I helped an adventurer party from an evilus attack by using long range spells to attack them when they weren't expecting it. And the Ganesha familia happed to witness it. Rumors strangely started spreading about an adventurer with a dark cloak that roams the upper floors saving newbies in need. I was named the Black hunter.
Well the rumors weren't entirely accurate but I did help a few people out, only when I knew that I had a chance to win. I don't think I am cruel for not saving everyone as I would never risk my life or battle anyone when I had no chance of winning. But luckily I only met those I could beat. Lucky them.
Well for the Astraea familia, I got acquainted with them when I helped some civilians from an evilus attack on the main road. They were on patrol, so they saw me assist as they fought the evilus. Though I only provided support with spells from afar while fake chanting.
My stats have also grown and I believe that I would level up in 3 months . A bit shorter than Ais level time but not so outrageous that I would become the target of everyone. I also found the hostess of fertility but I decided against going there yet. After I level up, hiding my identity would be pointless as a denatus would be held. Those gods that noticed my race would probably talk and even if they didn't know, their interest in me would increase.

My stats had improved a lot because I challenged myself a lot and my equilibrium skill dragged my other stats to catch up with my magic stat which was always the highest. But the higher my stats went, the slower the increment. I was also fast because the early levels are the shortest, well only if you are skilled.
So after grinding my stats for 3 more months, I would go on an adventure before leveling up.
Even with my high magic stat, I still couldn't draw tier 2 element runes but the potency of my spells did increase somewhat. Hopefully when I level up, the tier 2 elements would be available. I also realized that the space element was beyond being called a secondary element so I would have to carry a bag for a long time or get a supporter. ' I wonder if Lili is currently a supporter' I thought as I hoped that she wasn't corrupted yet.
Today I went out with my goddess to look for a large house or piece of land. The construction of a familia house was very important as my siblings will be arriving months from now.
There may also be people that want to join after I level up. As we would ride on my the fame from me beating Ais record to recruit what we could handle or had she even levelled up yet.
I had managed to get a total of 5 million Valis from my 6 months in the dungeon from magic stones to monster materials. And yes I know 5 million is too much for a noob to earn, But I was lucky to get a Jack bird 3 times, afterall I was the upper floor prowler. And with addition to the 10 million that I had before. I hoped that I could get a decent place within the budget, somewhere that's not in the slums.
*1week later*
News came about a old inn being auctioned. The inn was located towards the western gate of the city. The land it occupied was large enough for me to renovate it into our familia house or I could demolish and rebuild it from scratch. It was priced at 4 million Valis for buyout, which was a bit too expensive for the current me even though I had enough.
I don't know when it started but, I suddenly started getting tight with wealth and found shiny things with value very attractive . It could be a dragon thing but it didn't disturb by daily life, it just made me not thrifty and love expensive shiny stuff.
I bought the inn and then commissioned the Gofannon familia to begin construction as they had to demolish the inn to build on the land. The fact that there was even an inn in such a large plot of land and it was on a minor street looked suspicious. But hey it was a steal so why not buy it.
The commission was to build a house with an alchemy lab, smithy and training ground which cost a lot. I decided making it 3 stories with decent sized rooms on each floor. The total cost came to 10.5million Valis which included all the furnitures. Felt a bit cheap compared to Hestia's manor in the series that was about 200,000,000 Valis. But I did not know what made it that expensive. After all those expenses, I was left with about 500,000 Valis. I planned to pay someone to find Lili in hopes of using her as a supporter and hopefully she had not been corrupted by the soma familia yet. The construction would take about 6 months and hopefully would be completed before my siblings arrived in Orario.
