Dawn of the Royal Knights

"Erm Grim... Why is she here?"

*BOOM!!*

"Hmm?"

Dodging Nebra's onslaught of mist attacks with a serene experession plastered across his face, without looking back Grim took a moment to answer Asta's question.

"I'm- *BANG!!* trying something out." He managed to say whilst dodging another attack.

"He'll move to the right, try to interrupt his timing." Standing a bit away from the battlefield, Grim's ex wife Serena the fortune teller used a magic communication tool to instruct Nebra on how she should fight.

Hearing her words, the eldest daughter of the Silva household grit her teeth and took up a stance as she stretched her right arm out.

[Mist Magic: Solid Mist Clones]

*POOF!!*

Spreading her mist outwards, 6 identical clones of Nebra stood before Grim with all their actions mimicing the original.

"TRAP HIM!!" Serena screamed. Using her [Divination Magic] to read the future, she saw Grim moving to the side and informed Nebra of the best course of action.

Heeding her commands, the grimoires of all 7 Nebra's started glowing as a web of mist shot out at the calm looking Grim.

'Not bad.'

While he wouldn't admit it, Grim was actually impressed by his slave's synergy. By themselves they were pretty worthless, but when they combined their unique magic attributes together they were a pretty good team. If the two of them were on a team together during the Royal Knight examination, he had no doubt that they could have made it far as long as they didn't run into him, Langris, Yuno or Asta.

*FWOOSH!!*

Swiping his hand forward and using [Breath of Wind], he blew away the oncoming webs of mist and neutralized all the mist sent his way.

'Dammit! This bastard's playing with us!'

Clenching her teeth tightly, Serena felt an overflow of rage surge up in her heart. A couple of days ago she was a simple fortune teller living her life the way she wanted to, and now she's been unwillingly turned into the slave of some sadistic magic knight with a lust for battle and domination.

"Heh!" Grinning like a goddamn madman, the green glow around his body suddenly turned bright orange as he switched to [Breath of Flames] and blew across the battlefield using [Unknowing Fire] only to arrive in front of Nebra with his right arm cocked back.

'What the-

*BOOM!!*

Swinging forward with out holding back in the slightest, an overwhelming sense of pressure rooted Nebra's feet to the ground as she watched his fist grow larger in her eyes and approach her face.

"MOVEEE!!!" Serena screamed into the communication device.

Snapping out of her trance for a second, Nebra suddenly came back to her senses. It was just to bad that Grim's fist was mere centimetres away from her face.

*BANG*

Landing a solid blow right in the middle of her eyes, he cancelled [Breath of Flames] and pulled his punch back slightly causing the impact to be a lot lighter than what was initially intended... Though, that didn't mean that Nebra wasn't gonna suffer.

While he may have removed his fiery attribute and held back on his [Beast] enhanced strength, there was no way a mage like Nebra who had never trainned her body before would be capable of handling a punch from someone of Grim's callibre.

Getting hit by Grim's fist, Nebra felt her brain rattle in her skull as the force behind his punch sent her sprawling backwards and caused her to do several unintensional backflips before finally crashing down heavily onto the ground and leaving a long scuff mark on the dirt.

'...She'll be fine... I think.'

While everyone was gaping at the fact that Grim had just hit someone who was on his side, no one noticed his figure turn into a blur as he abruptly manifested in front of Serena.

"Hello." He smiled.

!!!

Grabbing her wrist before she could jump back, the yellow eyed Black Bull pulled her in close.

"You know what the problem with your magic is?"

Not waiting for the seer to answer, he carried on his explanation.

"Ignoring the fact that you have no offensive or defensive capabilities, the biggest problem with your magic is that if your faced with something much faster than yourself, your magic become useless."

*BOOM*

As if hit in the gut by that revelation, Serena suddenly felt her knees go weak.

Seeing the look of realization manifest itself on her face, a mocking smile adorned his own.

"You know what that means right?"

Knowing that he was actually asking her this time, the fortune teller lowered her head and solemly answered.

"Even if I use my magic to see you harm me... All I could do is watch."

"And why is that?" He asked with a mocking expression.

Clenching her fists, she did her best to hold back her anger.

"Because I'm not fast enough to stop you."

Hearing her answer, the grin on his face widened.

"Exactly!"

Taking advantage of the weak, stepping on the dreams of others, only someone like Grim could indulge themselves in such acts while somehow still managing to remain friends with a pure hearted person like Asta.

"Now then-

He dusted off her shoulders and showed her an innocent smile far removed from the mocking one he had on earlier.

"Let me give you your assignments."

Since he had gotten himself a free slave, Grim would take advantage of that fact and use her completely. The first thing he wanted her to do was to escort Nebra to the hospital. Since Finral was still recovering from his fight with his little brother, Serena would have to use her carpet to fly the both of them there. The second thing he wanted her to do was to study up on support mages. If he was gonna make use of her [Divination Magic] in combat, she needed to know how to support mages during battles. The third and final task assigned to her was for her to find some magic items that could enhance her physical abilities. But since she had an entire shop filled with weird magical devices, it shouldn't be to difficult.

[A/n: If any of you have seen Bungou Stray Dogs then you know that Grim is basically trying to turn her into an advanced version of Sakunosuke Oda.]

Watch her fly away with Nebra on her magic carpet, he couldn't help but wonder how Nozel would respond. Since she hadn't left the Silver Eagles, Nozel was still her captain and could formally submit a complaint against Grim for hurting one of his subordinates.

'I'll deal with that when it comes.' He shrugged.

"Yo Ast-

"GRIM!!" A female voice roared out from the inside of the Black Bull's base.

"GET YOUR ASS IN HERE!!"

In this world, there was only one woman capable of talking to him like that without fear of reprocussion.

"Mereoleona?"

You know, I was listening to Hollow Ichigo's speech about the "King and the horse" on Youtube earlier, and it made me realize that Grim is the embodiment of what Hollow Ichigo was talking about.

Lol, also managed to get some me time and write this chapter. I don't know when I'll be able to fully comeback before my course ends this term (14th May) but I'll try to sprinkle in some chapters whenever I get any free time. Thx for your patience guys.
