Leaving Water Nation

(White Lotus Meeting Room)

The White Lotus members were seething with anger. They were ready to explode at any moment. They had lost Korra a second time. Once, well, that was okay, everyone was allowed to have a second chance, but from two, it no longer was a mistake.

"How could you let them go, Katara!!!" The White Lotus leader shouted, "They call you a legend, prodigy, but you can't even beat fourteen-year-olds."

"Don't you dare talk to my mother like that!!!" Tenzin shouted angrily, "What did you do, huh? Sit on your lazy butt while the rest of us did work. don't talk."

The White Lotus leader had insulted his mother. She had fought with Avatar Aang and deserved respect.

Katara seeing the tension rising in the room, decided that it was time for her to interject. She knew that without her, a fight would erupt between the members of the White Lotus.

"Everyone, calm down. We need to focus," Katara said, "I didn't lose to the boy, he just created a smokescreen and ran. I was beating him."

The White Lotus leader looked at her with a lot of happiness.

"It seems that she hasn't grown weak by age," The White Lotus leader thought.

"Can you beat him if you find him?" The White Lotus leader asked.

"Yes," Katara affirmed.

"Okay, then find them," The White Lotus leader.

"I will send some guards," Katara said.

(Gon and Korra)

It has been a day since Gon helped Korra escape from the White Lotus camp, meaning that they had been riding Naga for a day. Naga was starting to getting tired, and so they decided to stop.

Gon saw all the injuries on Korra and felt sad. He was sorry that he couldn't get there quicker and mad at himself for not being able to protect. In his mind, he swore never to allow something like this to happen to her again.

"At least I can heal her," Gon thought sighing.

"Korra, come over," Gon said, "I am going to heal you."

Korra looked at Gon, surprised at his skill. She did not know that Gon could use water bending to heal. Gon and Korra had mastered the orthodox style of Water Bending when training with the Water Bending master, but they had not gotten taught to treat people.

"You can heal now?" Korra asked, surprised.

"I can. I learned it when I mistakenly healed my injuries from the time the White Lotus attacked," Gon said, "Watch."

Gon bent a large mass of water onto her body, green light started coming out, and wounds started turning into nothingness as if there was nothing even there in the first place.

"Wow," Korra shouted, "Can you teach me?"

She was amazed at the power and its capabilities and could heal almost any injury. She had heard from Katara that with spirit water, she could cure blindness. She was amazed by the power, the power of saviors, in her opinion.

"Yeah why not," Gon said, "I think that we have to leave the water tribes and go to another nation, where would you like to go? I'm thinking about the fire nation."

Gon brought out a map showing all the places that they could travel.

"Then let's go to the fire nation," Korra said.

"Before we go and buy a boat, I would like to show you something," Gon said

"What?" Korra asked.

"Just watch," Gon said.

Gon started to bend a ball of water on his left hand and a ball of fire on his right.

"I am the first dual bender Korra," Gon said, "Will you still follow me?"

Gon looked at her almost pleadingly, hoping that she would say yes. He had been too alone in his life, and if Korra said no, then that would be the last straw. He would break.

"Nnnnn, yes," Korra laughed, "Hahahaha, if you saw your face when you thought I was about to say no. Don't doubt me after all you saved me."

Gon swept a drop of sweat off of his head.

"Phew," Gon said.

He was delighted that Korra would stick with him. Nobody in his life has ever done that. The only constant was betrayal, even in this one. This body's father betrayed it, and his teacher betrayed him. Only Korra didn't, and he respecter her for that.

"Let's go find a boat," Korra said.

(One day later)

Korra and Gon had been looking for a boat for a few hours and hadn't found any. Well, any that would allow them to board. The first one they found was overpriced while the next one was too small to fit Naga.

Gon and Korra were laying too tired to look for any more boats when they saw an older man getting bullied by some ugly looking men. Being the helpful people that they are, they decided to intervene.

They quickly ran over to the man and shouted, "What are you doing to this, man."

"None of your business sweet cheeks," The ugly men said to Korra, "Go and do some laundry."

Gon looked angry, intensely. They had insulted his friend in a demeaning way, and he was ready to attack.

"I mistakenly bumped into them, and they attacked me," The older man said, "Help me!!!"

Gon quickly bent a large mass of water into the shape of a hammer and slammed it down on the men.

They watched in horror as the hammer went down on them. The men were expecting death but got mercy. They were happy to be alive with a few bruises.

"Leave before you die," Gon said.

The men quickly ran away as far from the boy as possible.

The older man looked at Gon and Korra and smiled.

"Thank you," The older man said, "Is there any way that I can repay you."

Gon and Korra looked at themselves and then decided to ask.

"Do you by any chance, know where we can find a boat," Gon and Korra asked.

"Yes, I do. Follow me," The older man said.

They followed the older man to the docks and saw a moderately sized boat that looked a bit worn out.

"This was my boat from my twenties. Then I was adventurous and wanted to see the whole world. Fate never allowed me to go. The boat has just been sitting here wallowing for years. Take it. I don't need it," Thee older man said.

"Are you sure?" Gon asked.

"Yes, and bye," The older man said.

The older man quickly left.

"Korra, while on the ship, I've decided to train you in the water and fire bending arts. This way, the next time we get attacked, you can protect yourself."

"Okay," Korra said as she and Gon entered the ship and departed.
