Getting Reincarnated

He was running, running as fast as he could away from the people that hurt him. They had done unspeakable things to him, beaten him burned him, toyed with him. The only good memories he had were from when he was young, and even that had gotten soured by the fact that his parents had sold him to these people no, these monsters. He thought that they had loved him, but all his parents cared about was getting high. He remembered a time where they did, where they were honest, good people who loved and cared about him, but that all changed the day the arguments started after that life began to spiral from there.

His parents shouted and shouted every day, their relations slowly straining. At a point, they only stayed together for the boy, but even that went downhill. His parent, beings that were supposed to love him, care for him started to resent him. They saw themselves in the boy and hated him. They wanted him gone but knew it wouldn't be allowed. After a while, things started dying down in the boy's home; his parents began to do weed, which helped, but what was unknown to the boy was that the drugs that he thought was his family's savior would be his downfall. The boy's parents lost all of their money. It was sudden, but the parents already knew why. It was because of the drugs that they were buying. They had tried to stop, but it was too late. They were addicted. They couldn't do anything but watch as their body took over and went to the dealer multiple times a week. Even without any money, they went, this time bringing the son they resented with them.

They gave him to the men who destroyed him doing unspeakable things, using him for their benefits. He had met other kids. Some had been the same as him while others, worse. He was one of the lucky ones. He hadn't piqued the boss's interests yet, or he would be dead. He had given up on almost everything, life, love, but the one thing he couldn't give up on was freedom. Ever since he had been brought to hell as he liked to call his jail, he planned his escape. Today was the day.

He ran and ran, hoping that nobody would notice him and then, "BANG," the boy heard as a bullet went through his chest. A single tear dropped down from his cheek. He smiled. The thought of being free, even in death was better than living with those monsters.

The boy opened his eyes and saw white, blank, nothing. In his head, he thought, "So this must be hell. Even in death, I can not escape my prison." Tears dropped from the boy's eyes upon this realization. He didn't understand what he had done to deserve this. The longer he stayed in the room, the lonelier the boy became. He had no one so ended up talking to the person that he loathed most, himself. Days, months, years. That was was how the time passed in the white room. After a while, he forgot the concept of time. That was the only thing that changed in the room.

He had been hoping, praying that somebody would come to rescue him from his hell, and one day his wishes came true.

A man with a long beard and white robe walked elegantly in the room. From where the man came from, the boy would never know. The only thought in his head was happiness, happiness that another person other than him was in the room. "Maybe this isn't a jail after all," The boy thought.

The boy ran up to the man, albeit warily. He didn't want to get abused again but also craved person to a person talk. He had been alone for a while now and slowly moved deeper into the land of the mentally insane.

"Who are you?" The boy shouted.

"I am a god or at least one of the gods out there," The man said, "I am very sorry for what happened to you. You see, I forgot to give you good karma in your life, so all you ever had was bad karma, causing that to be your fate."

"So, you mean that was your fault!!!" The boy said in tears, "My parent's drug addiction, me getting abused and even dying. It was all you?!!!"

"Yes," The man, now known as God, said a meek voice.

"But you're god!!" The boy exclaimed, "It comes with omnipotence, and the like doesn't it!"

"Only THE GOD is omniscient," God said, "We are just small gods with nigh omniscience."

"I understand," The boy said in a low voice, "I was just a mistake. Take me to hell. I'm ready."

The boy said those words thinking it was his fault that his parents became addicts and that other boys got brought to his hell to have been tortured by those evil men. After all, he was the one with the bad karma, not them. He deserved hell after what he had caused.

"Boy, I am not here to take you to that awful place. It wasn't your fault. It was mine," God said in a sad tone feeling sorry for the child that lost his innocence, "I am here to give you compensation for your last life. You will reincarnate with two wishes. The world has already been chosen for you so, choose your wishes, boy."

"Thank you," The boy said to God, "Where will I be reincarnating?"

He was happy that he would have another chance at living to live finally.

"Avatar, but the era is random," God said.

The boy was happy. Avatar was a show he watched when he was younger, and although the boy couldn't remember any of the plots, he recognized that the people of that world could bend.

"I wish for the power to bend the elements of water and fire for my first wish. For my second wish, I wish for martial arts techniques that encompass all the elements," The boy said.

"Your wishes have gotten granted," God said, "I will now equal out your karma, meaning that everything's left to luck, you might be born to a good or bad family. Bye," God said, sending the boy to Avatar.

"I hope he lives well," God said.
