Finding a tribe

(One month after leaving White Lotus Camp)

"So, we're finally here," Gon said.

For a whole month, Gon and Korra had attempting to find a city, tribe, even people but, they had no luck. During his time at the White Lotus Camp, Gon had forgotten to buy a map. He was too busy trying to bust Korra out of there. He was starting to regret that decision. He was glad that he helped Korra but was annoyed with his blunder.

Gon and Korra had gone through some life and death situations in the snowy area that they were moving deeper. It was usually Korra. Many spirits got angry with her presence, and she would attack many big animals. It pissed off Gon. Although, with Gon, the spirits seemed more relaxed. Gon remembered the time that Korra attacked a Spirit.

"Flashback Two Weeks Ago"

Korra was sitting trying to meditate. She had learned this from Gon. She had been attempting to clear her mind for two hours but hadn't gotten close to her objective. Not being able to do it frustrated her very much. Gon had been able to do it so quickly, yet she couldn't.

"Ugh!!!" Korra muttered in frustration.

A random spirit who had been watching the whole thing came out of its hiding spot and laughed, mocking her.

"You are the avatar, and yet you can't do something as simple as this," The Spirit laughed.

"You think this is funny?" Korra shouted.

She was angry, and with that came irrational thoughts. She was ready to attack. Korra's body changed from normal to attacking.

She put up her fists and said, "You want to fight."

"Yeah, like an Avatar that hasn't even mastered all four elements could beat me," The Spirit said sarcastically.

Korra, hearing the statement, started to attack bending a large mass of water at the Spirit, pushing it back and then continuing with fire attempting to injure him luckily the Spirit dodged. Otherwise, there would have been a problem.

The Spirit was a giant ape and looked very powerful, with one punch, it broke the trees in the area and pushed Korra into the place that Gon was sleeping.

Gon woke up to find Korra beside him bleeding. He looked up at the hulking Spirit with a touch of reverence and bowed. Although he had a chance against the Spirit with his martial arts and elements, he still respected them. From the memories of the body, they were powerful beings that protected people and sometimes liked to joke around.

Gon quickly bowed down looking at his companion who had fainted from the attack and asked, "I am very sorry for whatever my friend had done to you, it was a mistake, please forgive her."

The Spirit looked at him and saw the respect Gon had for his kind and decided to forgive Korra, "She's pardoned!!!"

Once the Spirit said that it disappeared mysteriously into the winter forest. They never saw the Spirit again for the few days that they stayed there. That was good news because Korra wanted payback for the beaten she got, and she wouldn't have taken no for an answer.

"Flashback End"

"Thank the spirits that we found that man that led us to one of the other water tribes," Korra said, relieved that she had finally escaped the wilderness.

Gon and Korra had been lost for weeks and had to live off of fish. The taste of it now horrified her.

"What was his name again?" Korra asked.

"I think that it was something like Amon," Gon said, shrugging, "Let's stay here for a while, you and I could learn water from the benders here."

"I don't need any other teacher, but you," Korra said adamantly.

"My style of water bending is unorthodox. You know that Korra," Gon said, "They could teach you properly."

"I know that you're better than them. You beat many of the beasts in the forest with the slightest amounts of water," Korra argued.

"I am not a master yet, and even if I were, I would still like to gain knowledge from some of the strongest water benders. They teach you about the elegance of water," Gon said.

"Okay!!!" Korra begrudgingly said as he pouted, looking sad.

"But, the first thing I need to do is buy a map so, go and sign us up for water bending training. Also, you're only allowed to use water and before you ask why its part of your training," Gon said

Gon was afraid that if she used her other elements, the White lotus would track them down and start chasing them. He knew that they were already trying to do that, and with Naga being there too, it was harder to hide. The White lotus already knew about Naga and probably told other clans to be on the watch for it, he would assume. Gon quickly went to go and buy a map.

Korra was walking around and exploring with Naga. She went into the water temple and started to watch as the masters were training the students. She was in awe at their skill but was at the same time a bit bored with their moves. They all used the same set of steps and had similar attack patterns. The longer she watched, the more she understood that Gon was weird.

It would seem as if Gon created his own set of moves for water bending and also used martial arts, something she was learning from him. Although she was learning how to fight in the white lotus camp, it wasn't as fluid. She had also gotten many fighting experiences in the snowy forest is she'd been in for the last month. She started to respect Gon more and more.

"He is different," Korra thought.

Although Korra didn't want to learn the water bending from these people, she decided that she would trust Gon and went to sign up.

"Hey, where can I sign up for water bending lessons?" Korra asked a random boy she saw.

"Ha!!! You, a girl, want to sign up for water bending. Just leave," The random boy said.

Korra looked pissed but calmed down. She had learned from the fight with the Spirit.

Korra was about to walk out when "Kids calm down, how about we settle this with a match to see whether Korra deserves to be a student here."

Korra looked and saw that it was one of the trainers here and smiled.

She quickly shouted to the random boy, "If you are not too chicken!!!"

"Okay, I'll fight," The random boy said, smiling.

The boy was four feet taller than Korra and only saw her as a little girl.

Korra attacked by picking a giant mass of water and throwing it at the boy. She didn't plan to injure the boy. The sentiment wasn't the same for the boy, though. He didn't care. The boy stopped the water with his hand, turned it into a whip, and attacked Korra, injuring her hand. She was bleeding. Korra became angered by this. Her stance changed, and then before the boy knew what hit him, he was getting hit by fist-shaped water balls.

Gon entered seeing the random boy about to be injured by Korra ran up to them and then clapped with his creating an effect of the water dispersing.

"Korra lets go," Gon said, not allowing Korra to speak.

"My child let her go; she did nothing wrong. She was only disciplining my unruly disciple," The master said.

Gon quickly let Korra go and said awkwardly, "Sorry, Korra, it was a misunderstanding."

Korra looked at him with anger in her eyes for a second but calmed down. She knew that he was only trying to help.

"I forgive you," she said.

The master, watching this scene, smiled.

"What I would give to be young," he thought.

"Ehm, Would you like to be my students," The master asked.

"Yesss!!!!" Both Gon and Korra said.
