34 Chapter 33

The man better be glad that Zhi Ruo was meters apart from him or she would've have punched him out of allergic reaction. Zhi Ruo is allergic to people that has something stuck up to their asses you see.

Zhi Ruo heaved a breath, "I don't like you, I hope you know that." She uttered staring directly at the man in front of her.

And just like any man that reached for immortality, the pride and ego was carved deep into his soul and plastered into his bones, and so reflecting on his skin. The man scoffed dully when he heard Zhi Ruo.

He could not underestimate Zhi Ruo as she came out from nowhere and nonchalantly massacred the horde, and saved them in the process. But it doesn't mean he wasn't confident in his abilities, in doing this though, he could not do anything but just show his. dissatisfaction

"Don't go changing the topic now." The man said as he jumped down to the ground where his group was. His words effectively ending the conversation.

"Charming." Zhi Ruo sarcastically pronounced, she rolled her eyes but it wasn't visible to the group on the ground bellow her.

Instantly, the man asserted his orders. Taking Zhi Ruo's silence as submission. In what part of Zhi Ruo he thought was submissive, no one knows. But Zhi Ruo was for sure wasn't listening when he shared his orders in attacking the tree of dead slaving. His words passed into one ear to the other.

Zhi Ruo jumped down, killing a corpse that was hiding nearby. Then she heard a familiar, ding! A window popped up in her vision.

Zhi Ruo blinked, but she did not stop her actions in heading to the group. The windows notification followed her steadily. Then it switched to her status window.

The man looked at Zhi Ruo's unarmed form. The girl also stole a side glance at her. They did not notice that Zhi Ruo wasn't paying attention to them at all.

Zhi Ruo briefly wonders if she should cultivate with a cultivation technique in this stage. Because it seemed like she was the only person in their right mind who only started this late while not having any external help, like a cultivation technique, and still managed to make it this far.

Her eyes wonders to the shop option in her status window, before snapping back to the man who shouted and was now heading straight to the tree of dead slaving.

She did not even notice the man had asked her if she was ready, far too engrossed to the changes of her physique. The man had taken her silence as a yes. Rendering Zhi Ruo speechless for a second.

The other man with the sword, and the girl quickly followed up behind the man who ran straight to the tree of dead slaving. Zhi Ruo wonders how she should approach the battle in a way that she would remain as a person who was awfully average, while still defeating the monster.

Zhi Ruo looked around, unlike her temporary companions, she wasn't in a hurry to be standing in front of a possible death opportunity.

The possible death opportunity is great and all, but she'd rather live for more than a century at least.

For a second she kicked up her feet and sand was produced. Although small, this made Zhi Ruo recall the fact that she can now upgrade her sand stun skill. Instantly she upgraded the rank to rank 2.

She willed another heap of sand, and this time the sand was larger in size compared when it was in the rank 1. So much that it now completely towered over her whole body as a whole.

She wonders if the skill was still a stun skill by the amount she could produce.

And the best part was, it still didn't use any of her MP. But oddly enough, it felt like it was a part of her. Like a limb, she may not be using any MP on it that would render her reserves under pressure, but it didn't mean that she wouldn't get tired if she kept on using it.

She snapped her attention to the screeching monster in front of her, she was still unsure on how the tree could produce such sounds but that was the least of her concern right now.

The tree screeched unholiest sound she have ever heard ever since she transferred over, the sand constricted the hair like branches movements. She smiled for a split second when the tree finally noticed her appearance.

One of them shouted thanks to her, and she was sure it wasn't the man with the sword. It wasn't like Zhi Ruo did it to save his ass from getting pierced like a barbeque stick, but she'd accept the thanks nonetheless.

The man with the sword took the split second that Zhi Ruo saved with her skill, to cut a large branch that has been hindering his companions.

Zhi Ruo was in a delima for a moment as she didn't have a weapon, and it wasn't like she could use the weapons on her storage. She was sure she would die the moment she'd touch any of them. Or she would die from empty reserves just by trying to find the weapons that wouldn't kill her in sight.

She was glad that she realized that there was a man with the sword in one of her temporary companions. The fact that she had once stole that man's sword completely escaped her thoughts.

Her eyes glinted in a thought, she hadn't made a move to attack the tree. Instead she lets her overzealous temporary companions to do the attacking, they were an energetic lot that she could tell. She could feel their burning desire in demolishing their chosen opponent even after the fact that she was in a distance from them.

Especially that girl, for a second Zhi Ruo was lost wether she was in a battle or watching those drama's in her TV. But she doubts that the TV could equal the thrill she was feeling watching the real deal.

She settled on putting out timely attacks with her stun skill to help her temporary companions, ultimately saving their asses when they were about to get peirced or tangled up with the hair like branches.

The three people at the distance were getting tired now. Zhi Ruo noticed with a furrow. They were throwing out practiced attacks and was throwing out their techniques without any reservations at the start of the fight. She could tell that they were used to quick fights— just overwhelming their opponents with a attack or two.

But that logic doesn't work with an opponent whose stronger than you. They still haven't put down their arrogant mindset and that was their unfortunate mistake.

Zhi Ruo worked with a rythme, like a choreographed dance.

If the opponent is stronger than you, then you should take the role as the underdog. And fight like a underdog, with means that cannot be on the same moral ground. If you are stronger, then you have the right to do as you please, what dirty means? Was it really necessary if you are stronger?

A fight should have a tune, like a play, if both parties do not commit to their role, then what's the use?

'Though' Zhi Ruo thought gazing at the fighting people. 'I suppose unexpected and unprecedented fights are usually very popular with people nowadays' she clicked her tongue before she called out.

"Go for the bark! Not for the branches!" She shouted, finally approaching where the battle it taking place. "The branches is not the main body you dumb shits." She leaned in and sprinted towards the group, with her hands outstretched she kept the sand stun skill flowing. She could feel the mastery of the skill rising as she did so.

"I know that!" The man gritted out with annoyance, he coughed as a branch pounded in his stomach. His eyes almost popped out with rage.

"Then why aren't you doing it?!" Zhi Ruo's body blurred and only the echo of her voice remained, her figure flashed in front of the tree. Both her hands was clasped together, and she filled her hands with MP, it was a basic augmentation skill that required a ridiculous amount of control.

But who was Zhi Ruo? Of course this was no big deal for her. Especially now that her reserves were awfully low.

Zhi Ruo brought down her hands with a huff, and there was a large boom that resounded throughout the entire clearing. And a flash of light hits the bark of the tree, vaguely one could see that it looked liked Zhi Ruo's hands.

The people in the clearing paused with a flinch as Zhi Ruo's attack connected. "Move idiots!" She shouted noticing their stupor. The bark of the tree creaked, before it cracked open. A orange liquid seeped out from the cracked opening. Zhi Ruo could only assume that it was it's blood.

"Stop calling us idiots!" The girl of the group shouted, her face flushed red.

"Our master wouldn't have chosen us if we were idiots!" The man landed beside the girl and shouted, before he hastily dodge an attack that was promptly blocked by a wave of sand.

The tree was stupid, it kept falling for the stun skill that Zhi Ruo continuously puts up. She snickered when the man who shouted at her ate a mouthful of sand.

"Then your master is blind then!" Zhi Ruo grounds the words in her mouth, as she set another round of augmented attacks at the opening that she had opened. The tree screeched as she did so.

"You dare insult our master you harlot!?" The man with the sword hacked a branch as he shouted at Zhi Ruo. He looked at Zhi Ruo as if he wanted to kin her alive, but was preoccupied with the tree in front of them.

"Bullshit! When did I do that? I'm insulting you!" Zhi Ruo laughed as she did so, she saw the man spitting on the ground in anger. "Who're you calling a harlot? When you're pretry enough to be a slut!" Zhi Ruo was never the one to back down in a verbal spat.

It was unknown wether the man blushed from embarrassment or from anger. But the man blushed and that was enough indication.

The three became silent after that, the atmosphere between them turned sour. So they focused on taking down the tree that was upon them.

Most of the time, because of Zhi Ruo they were only hit by the branches and wasn't pierced. They needed to be tenacious because they were weaker, and they had the strength in number. They were also lucky, because although the Tree of dead slaving was a Gathering; Concentration rank 8 monster, it was ultimately very weak now that they cleared out it's slaves.

The tree of dead slaving was also stuck on one place, it cannot move voluntarily even if it wants too. If Zhi Ruo and the other three wanted to rest, they can just create a distance from the tree. And it could not do anything to them

From time to time, Zhi Ruo would steal the sword of that guy that always seemed to give her a stink eye everytime she goes near him. The guy would always be forced to fight bare handed and retreat whenever she did so.

And even if he voiced out his profanities, he would never go as far as that. Zhi Ruo wonders what the three are thinking about, since they also showed their displeasure but they never did do anything to her of sorts.
