I...Need To Move On.

After everything had been completed, Meiying and Xuejian went their separate ways. Meiying made her way to her bedroom, seeking solace and relaxation. Meanwhile, Xuejian returned to his study, eager to acclimate to working from home. As the CEO of his own company, he had always worked tirelessly to build his empire, breaking free from the clutches of his controlling father.

Xuejian discovered his passion for acting at a young age, during his elementary school days. His talent on stage was remarkable, and with his father's position as CEO of an entertainment company, their fame grew exponentially. As he progressed through high school, he took on more acting roles to save money, ultimately paving the way for his independence in grade 11. Against his father's disapproval, he packed his bags and embarked on the journey of creating his own company. After six years of relentless dedication, his hard work had paid off, propelling him to his current position of success.

With his work completed, Xuejian ventured into Meiying's bedroom, finding her sprawled across the bed. Her disheveled hair fell delicately around the pillow, her mouth slightly agape, and one leg extended from the tangled bedsheets. He carefully positioned her leg under the covers and tucked her body snugly in the sheets. Gazing at her tenderly, he joined her on the bed, succumbing to sleep.

Upon waking the next morning, Xuejian found Meiying absent from the bed. A sense of unease washed over him, prompting him to swiftly exit the room and head towards the dining hall, only to discover it empty. Perplexed, he looked around until Butler Yang approached him, revealing that Meiying had already left.

"Did she mention where she was going?" Xuejian queried.

"Yes, she mentioned something about learning more about her acting role from a detective," Butler Yang informed.

"Please inform me when she returns," Xuejian requested before making his way out.

"But sir, aren't you going to work today?" Butler Yang asked.

"No, I've decided to work from home today," Xuejian replied earnestly.

"It would be delightful if mistress were here as well," Butler Yang remarked, but Xuejian simply nodded and left.

Meanwhile, at the police station, Meiying met Detective Xu through Li Jingyi. Detective Xu turned out to be a nice and helpful person, teaching Meiying all she needed to know about being a detective. Eager to learn and assist, she even accompanied Detective Xu on a field mission, albeit remaining in the patrol car while discreetly observing from afar. Throughout the day, she astutely aided Detective Xu in his investigations.

The commendations soon came pouring in for Meiying, as Detective Xu and others in the department lauded her remarkable assistance, remarking that she worked with the acuity and professionalism of a member of the team. They also talked about other actors and actresses who caused trouble while they were at the police station, appreciating Meiying's dedication in comparison.

At four o'clock, Meiying got permission to leave. She called Jingyi, and they met at a nearby restaurant to eat. As they entered, Meiying saw Zhang Hongzong. She called out to him, but upon recognizing her, he hastily attempted to retreat. In his haste, however, he collided with a waitress, causing her to spill drinks all over his jacket.

The waitress immediately knelt down and apologized. Meiying went over and bent down to help her, she tenderly inquired, "Are you alright?" Hongzong looked on in astonishment, only to retort with a sarcastic comment, "I'm fine as well."

Meiying smiled secretly then helped the waitress up and turned to Hongzong. The whole restaurant was watching them now. She whispered to him, "There's no need to do anything behind closed doors."

Hongzong's expression shifted from surprise to a mixture of bewilderment and shock. "What are you talking about?" he asked, scanning the room and noticing the prying eyes. Clenching his fists, he looked at Meiying intently.

"Just promise her that you will forgive her and you will not do anything else," she begged. Hongzong looked at the crowd again, then reluctantly said, "I promise and also I forgive you," to the waitress, who thanked him and Meiying. The waitress then bent down and started picking up the broken glasses from the floor.

Meiying smiled warmly at Hongzong and extended an invitation. "Would you care to join us?" she asked, her gaze drifting towards the table where Jingyi sat.

He released an audible sigh and grumbled, "Fine," reluctantly making his way to the table before Meiying.

As Jingyi greeted Hongzong, he nodded in response. They all proceeded to place their orders, few minutes later their delectable dishes were served. Suddenly, Jingyi excused herself to answer an urgent phone call, causing Hongzong to drop his fork abruptly as he leaned in closer to Meiying.

"I don't know what your game is, but I'm warning you to mind your own business," he uttered with a resolute tone.

A mischievous smile curved Meiying's lips as she retorted, "Since the day I met you, your business has become mine." Hongzong visibly flustered, looking as if she had sprouted two heads.

"Had you been single, I might have mistaken that you were asking for my attention," he quipped with a feigned amusement, raising an eyebrow in jest.

"Pfft, the only attention I crave is from my husband," she exclaimed nonchalantly, though in truth, her longing for Xuejian's attention was from her previous life, not this one.

An air of sarcasm tinged Hongzong's voice as he bit back, "Then scurry off to your husband."

Leaning back comfortably, Meiying responded, "I intend to, but let me finish my meal first." She refocused her attention on her food, leaving Hongzong to stew in his thoughts.

Undeterred, Hongzong abruptly stood up from his seat, appearing poised to leave. However, before he could make his exit, Meiying waved him over, expressing her eagerness to collaborate with him on the movie project. Flashing a forced smile, Hongzong departed without a word.

Soon after, Jingyi returned and urged Meiying to check her phone. Upon doing so, she discovered an abundance of missed calls from Xuejian.

"I forgot to turn off the silent mode on my phone," Meiying admitted.

"Master Xuejian instructed me to drive you to the mall," Jingyi informed her.

Curiosity piqued, Meiying posed the question, "Why?"

"I'm not sure, but it seems to be something important."

"Then what are we waiting for, let's go" exclaimed Meiying, her eyes shining with excitement as they both rose from their seats and gracefully departed the restaurant.

Jingyi courteously dropped Meiying off at the bustling mall, bidding her farewell as she headed home. Eagerly, Meiying stepped into the vast shopping complex, her heart pounding with anticipation. She swiftly dialed Xuejian's number, and to her delight, he promptly answered, divulging his whereabouts.

With a sense of urgency, Meiying navigated through the bustling crowds, maneuvering skillfully towards the clothing department. There, she caught glimpse of Xuejian engrossed in conversation with one of the store's staff members. In her haste to reach him, she lost her footing and prepared herself for an embarrassing stumble.

But before she could hit the ground, a robust hand gracefully encircled her waist, providing support and stability. She glanced up, her eyes widening in amazement, only to find herself staring into the compassionate gaze of the man of her wildest dreams.

"Are you alright?" Xuejian inquired, his voice filled with genuine concern.

Meiying gazed at his moving lips, but her mind was enraptured by the mesmerizing sight before her. His flawless visage left her speechless.

But discontentment filled Xiaoxiao, who forcefully removed Chenwei's hands from her waist, causing Meiying to tumble to the ground.

Observing Meiying sprawled on the ground, Xiaoxiao wore a self-satisfied expression. "Your conniving ploys won't succeed, Meiying. Chenwei belongs to me!"

"Xiaoxiao, what is the meaning of this?" Chenwei bellowed in fury.

"What do you mean? This woman has been attempting to snatch you away from me!" Xiaoxiao retorted.

"You're delusional! It was I who came to her aid."

"She feigned the fall, and why is she even here? She was evidently stalking us!" Xiaoxiao vented in frustration.

Chenwei scoffed, "You're simply being paranoid."

"What? Are you just going to let all those girls openly pursue you?" Xiaoxiao exclaimed.

By now, a crowd had gathered, fixating their attention on the spectacle unfolding before them while Meiying was still on the ground.

A benevolent hand extended toward her, and she gratefully directed her attention to the familiar figure before her- Xuejian. Without hesitation, Meiying firmly grasped his hand, their fingers intertwining, he pulled her up as they discreetly sidestepped the chaotic scene unfolding before them.

"You should cease causing turmoil wherever you go," Chenwei continued as he looked at Xiaoxiao.

"I wish you were the same person I had first met," Xiaoxiao blurted out, causing the entire vicinity to freeze. "I apologize, that was not what I meant to say." she begged.

Chenwei closed his eyes, his fists trembling as he breathed heavily.

"I...need to move on."

Please I'm very sorry for the late update. Thanks for reading.
