CHAPTER 29

Brenda and Xander were woken up with phone calls asking for interviews, nobody knew how the press got to know about the orphanage and the children but all the news channels and newspaper carried the same news.

The news channels even interviewed the children and the teachers,they were all singing the praises of the Carlos foundation,the hospital was filled with the press blocking the entrance,they all wanted to interview the doctors and Calista, because according to the teachers in the orphanage,she was the one that brought Xander and Brenda to their rescue.

It took the intervention of the hospital security for people to be able to go in and come out of the hospital,the two siblings asked their assistants to represent them for the interviews as they had pending matters on ground.

Xander had to go to other orphanages but he needed to go in disguise so as not to alert the other directors ,Brenda on the other hand wanted to visit Damien and ask why he had their pictures in his safe. she had earlier sent the letter with the code to her adopted brother who was a hacker,she knew that only him could help with the code.

She was so lost in thought that she didn't hear her brother calling her,"Have you gotten into trouble again because that is your second name ?,Xander asked her jokingly,he noticed she had been spacing out ever since they came back from the orphanage.

At first he thought it was because of the condition of the children but from the look of things,it was more than that,are you under attack ?,he asked again this time sitting beside her and pulling her closer to himself.

He raised her hand up and started checking for any mark or bruises in her body,this brought back memories and Brenda couldn't stop laughing till her stomach started hurting.

Xander also remembered and started laughing as well,seeing that his sister was fine,Xander couldn't help but relax his mind,he was just overthinking things,he gave her a peck and a hug which earned him a long talk of how it was time to start kissing his wife not her.

Xander was not ready to talk about his love life so he quickly ran out of the house with his old man disguise,he and Calista had promised each other to take things slowly and he wasn't going to act desperate because he needed her,he wanted what they had to last,they had spent the whole night talking to each other on the phone,they had also messaged each other earlier and that was enough for now until she was ready to fully accept him into her life.

"That was close" Brenda said,he almost found out I was hiding something from him,she wanted to unravel whatever was in the code quickly and also get Damien's statement so that she could tell her brother,she knew he hated it when she hid anything from him but she was doing it to stop him from worrying,she hoped he would understand when the time came.

She quickly had her breakfast and also went out,it was time to meet Damien and find how what he knew and how much he knew.
