Chapter 62 - A Wild Contractee Appears [3]

A/N: Time for a slightly psychotic Reinhardt, enjoy.

***

A four armed monster that's what I was fighting, the flames it wielded began to glow even brighter as the heat they produced caused me to begin sweating.

'What the hell.. Why is there a Mana Beast on campus? I understand I just accepted a contracted, but since when was karma so fast acting..?'

The monster was fast, and hit incredibly hard. Not only that, but it's reaction time and instincts were incredible. It was as if I was fighting a creature built solely for the purpose of combat.

The fact that it had had four arms meant that it was practically unbeatable in close quarters combat by someone like me. I tried to use healing Magic to repair some of the damage done by it's flames but it didn't do very much. It's flames were honestly really weird, they didn't spread.

Instead, they only burnt my body and seared the skin and flesh.

'Is it holding back? Or is it incapable of manipulating the flames.'

Using Wind Magic, I could buy myself a little time by creating distance between us.

'I knew that almost everyone at this Academy was someone pretty high Mana reserves, but what the hell is up with this thing? It's Capacity is off the charts. I can't even compare.'

I created a ball of wind in the palm of my hand, rotating it at a rapidly increasing velocity.

My output wasn't exactly high, but by rotating the ball of wind I produced, I could cause it to deal more damage than if it didn't rotate. And so, I propelled my body towards the monster by using Wind Magic to launch myself.

My body rapidly approached the monster who watched me with what I could only assume to be confusion. Then, when I reached the monster, I thrust my arm into its stomach. The ball of rotating wind slicing it's flesh and burrowing through its stomach.

'My output has increased a fair bit because of that contract, I doubt that I'd be to drill though this thing had it not been for my contract.'

My hand had punctured the monster's stomach, causing it's stomach acid to spill onto my hands. And so, I instinctively tried to retract my hand from the beast's guts.

But, my hand didn't budge, it seemed as if the beast had an ironclad grip on my hand. I looked at the towering monster, and threw several blades of wind at it. But, to my horror, the monster's flesh repaired smaller cuts almost immediately while deeper cuts took only seconds.

I now understood why my arm was lodged in it's stomach. It had regenerated with my arm still inside it's body, it's dense, power and Mana Enhanced muscles had now coiled around my arm, and the beast was flexing it's muscles, all to keep me in place.

My eyes widened in fear as all four of it's flame bearing fists rushed towards me, and so I did the only thing I could think of.

I fired off a blade of wind, not at the beast but at myself, slicing my arm off and causing me to stumble onto the floor. This worked in my favour as the monster's fists never met their mark.

'What the hell. What the actual hell. What is this thing? What sort of Mana Beast can regenerate like that, is it a mutant strain or something?'

My eyes finally met the beast's, its golden eyes stared into my very soul.

"For a traitorous piece of trash, you have pretty solid decision making."

The beast spoke, it's white mane of hair dancing as the wind blew.

'Traitor..?'

The beast took a step forward, crouching down to my level, meeting my gaze once more.

"You know, I don't have anything that personal against you, or Demon's for that matter. Well, I sort of do, I dislike traitor but more than that, it's just that... it's either you or me. And I always choose me. Now, I can't just kill you, I need to make an example out of you, bring attention to you so the Heresy Inquisitors are called and so that they can inspect your body and use you for research. But... I also can't have you trying to escape. What am I to do..."

'It can speak? But why is it talking like it's won this fight.'

I then tried crawling away from it, but two of its four arms grabbed my legs, its flames searing my flesh. Groaning in pain, I watched as it used it's other two arms to grab me by my upper arm.

"I'm not sure if you guys have this, but in my old world, there was a form of execution called 'quartering.' Now, I won't kill you, but I need to render you immobile at the very least."

The beast looked at me with a mad gaze, the more time passed, the more terrfying it seemed to get.

In it's very first attack, it seemed to have wanted to kill me, but now it seemed like it wanted to inflict pain upon me. It wanted me to suffer and experience agony.

It used it's four arms to tug at my limbs, tears streamed down my face as the pain of being both burnt and torn alive took hold of me.

Moments later, I was on the floor. I tried getting up but my legs weren't there.

"Ah... I can't have you bleed out."

And so, it cauterised my wounds, using its white flames to stop the bleeding causing me to howl in pain.

"Just so you know, I've never lost in a real fight. So don't feel too bad. Anyways, make sure to tell everyone that you're a Demon serving traitor of this planet. That'll make life much easier for everyone."
