3 Chapter 3- Riders on the storm

Vincent had already come up with a plan. Rushing towards the beginner fields to share level 1 wolves with thousands of players would be a dumb move, so he decided to do things a little differently. The first thing he needed to do was to change location. White Oak Village had players everywhere, and killing level 1 wolf was just not worth it. It was an arduous task to travel being a level 1 mage, but Vincent knew how.

"Hahaha. You're a genius, Vincent," he thought while laughing strangely. He could also hear whispers from the players that passed through the village, looking at him.

"Is that guy crazy?"

"I don't know. I thought crazy people weren't allowed to play Rise. Do they have game capsules on Asylums as well?" two girls said to each other.

Vincent caught that instantly. He had good ears when it was about him. Frowning his eyebrows, he gave the duo a 'what the fuck?' look. They ran without looking back. Who knows, maybe Vincent was a crazy guy after all, and they didn't want to find out.

The beginner's fields had tons of players, and Vincent saw how fierce the competition was. It was a good thing he wasn't there for the wolves but the herbs. Vincent had a regret in his past life, and that was not starting to practice alchemy since the beginning. He always thought that it was a waste of time. Later on, he discovered that alchemy could bring one ton of money. It was the same for the other professions as well, but alchemy made the most money. Take a smith, for example. A smith needed to create a correspondent weapon for each class, and it was nearly impossible to be the best smith in all types of weapons. Now, alchemy was different. Everyone needed potions. It didn't matter their class, level, or anything. In fact, even pets needed potions, so you can imagine how profiting it was. Vincent was looking for herbs not to practice alchemy, as it was locked until one reached level 10. He needed the herbs to complete a quest that was part of his plan.

Walking through the evergreen fields, trying to avoid all types of danger. PK was open since level 1, and Vincent didn't trust anyone, so it was a wise choice to avoid contact with others, at least for now. The herb he was looking for was the Sunrise herb. A common type found everywhere in Rise. It didn't take long for him to find it. It was at the base of some trees, near the open field where everyone was killing wolves. He reached his hand towards it, unrooting. A notification popped in front of his eyes.

[+1 Sunrise Herb]

"There's one. Now let's go find another 99..."

Vincent's plan of gathering herbs went smoothly, and not long after he was again at the White Oak Village. He needed the herbs to complete a quest where he would transport it to another village, smaller than White Oak. It was common for these villages to trade things with each other, and that was the reason a caravan would leave White Oak in the first place. Vincent wanted the free ride, and his destiny was a nameless village not that far from where he was.

"Hey," Vincent said to a bearded man, getting closer to him, whispering, " I heard that there's a caravan leaving today."

"Why are you acting like that? We are not selling illegal stuff," the man said.

"Right. I don't know if it is asking too much, but can I get a ride?"

"Of course you can. Only if you have goods to sell."

That was the phrase Vincent was hoping to hear.

[New Quest Added]

[Caravan trading]

[Description: the bearded man is willing to give you a ride if you have goods to sell.

[Objective: bring him 100 units of any material to complete it.]

"Here," Vincent showed him his 100 Sunrise herbs.

"Oh, you already have it. So you are not a beggar after all."

"Do I look like a beggar?"

"I don't know, probably not. But in my defense, I once saw some fancy beggars in town."

"Sure you did."

And just like that, Vincent got himself a free ride to his next objective, a dark cave filled with mobs.
