Reborn as The Strongest Mage

Rise was the game everyone played, even the elderly. Launched in 2084, it became an instant success worldwide, and it was more than a simple game. It was also a job. People could earn real-life money from it, and for the youth Vincent, it was no different. Vincent started to play on day one. He had chosen the Mage class and did quite well with it, achieving the top 100 mages of the entire server. Things were getting better year after year. He had all the money he needed, gifting a house for his family, a car, and improving their lives overall. Well, unfortunately, it went downhill. Vincent was not that good with finances, so he hired a manager. He couldn't possibly know that the guy would steal from him, and not only that, he was also stabbed while throwing a party at his apartment. You can call it a miracle, or even destiny, but the fact was that Vincent got another chance at life, reborn on the day Rise launched, and he was going to use that chance to become number one, and of course, found out the bastard who killed him. Help me out in Ko Fi if you can, I'll really appreciate, if you do, just message me I'll reward you somehow. https://ko-fi.com/zzanzz

Chapter 14- Stealing

Vincent bought two more spells that were available to him at that point.

Magic Shield. It created a shield that blocked all DMG types. The shield strength would be based on how much mana the user had, and the shield lasted for 30 minutes before needing to cast it again.

His stats got even higher after equipping the Title.

[The Seer] [Class: Mage]

Level: 5

[HP: 120] [Mana: 350]

Stats:

[Strength: 2]

[Dexterity: 1]

[Endurance: 3]

[Intelligence: 22]

[Wisdom: 15]

[Free points: 0]

He had a base Intelligence of 18, plus 2 from the ring and plus 10% on top of that, leading to the amount of 22.

His Wisdom also increased by one point, increasing his mana pool and regeneration. More mana now also meant more shield, which was good.

The Magic Shield granted a shield equals to 15% of his total mana, which was about 52 points and a half. It didn't look much but it would only increase as his mana pool grew, and it could make a difference in a life or death situation.

The other spell Vincent bought was called Water Shot. It worked just like the Fireball but from the water element. Shooting some sort of bullet made of water.

Buying these two spells cost Vincent all of his money, which was sad.

He came to the village for potions but now he didn't have the money for it...

Vincent thought about how to earn money using his shape-shifting skill. And the opportunity for it showed at the right time.

The guild HellFlame finally started to assault the boss they had found earlier the other day. They had sent tons of players and were updating it in the forum.

"Oh, that's too evil. I like it, HAHAHA."

He changed his appearance back to The Seer right after leaving the village, heading towards the level three area, Blazing lands.

The area had a small volcano near by, which lead to that name. Vincent's awesome and overpowered shape-shifting skill started to show its value.

He casted it, costing him a small amount of mana, turning into an animal good for traveling, a crow.

It didn't just change his appearance but also gave him the aspects of a crow. Vincent now could fly and his vision improved a lot. Arriving at the Blazing Lands and finding the boss fight wouldn't be hard now.

"This is simply awesome. I remember flying in a griffin in my previous life, but it was a mount. Now it's actually me who is flying. It feels so much better," he thought, enjoying the view.

After half an hour Vincent had found the boss battle. He had the perfect plan in mind.

"Come on boys, the boss is almost dead," shouted out the HellFlame guild leader, TrueFlame. They were trying to kill a boss called The Fire Giant. It wasn't a true giant or else everyone would be dead already, but it was a level 7 boss.

The boss was only one of the Bronze Tier, but it was still a boss. These type of monsters were rare and difficult to kill, but rewarded the players with riches.

Vincent landed on a tree not that far from the actual battle, observing everything from a distance. He intended to steal the boss.

In Rise it didn't matter if a player dealt the most damage to the boss or monster, only the last hit mattered. People didn't like that at first, but after succeeding in kill steal bosses, they changed their opinion.

Vincent turned into an ant, and started to slowly walk towards the boss. Everyone was so focused that they didn't even notice the strange crow that arrived, and how it suddenly vanished. The only thing that mattered to them was the sweet XP and loot.

The shape-shifting skill entered in cooldown right after he turned into an ant, but it started to recharge right after. It meant that Vincent could turn back to human, steal the boss, and then turn back into an ant. He truly understood how heavenly that skill was. It created tons of possibilities inside the game. That was the reason only one player could have that, or else everything would crumble.

Vincent already pictured the scene in his mind. The players of HellFlame would be so angry. He would turn into The Seer for a moment before turning back to an ant, which meant that his identity would become even more famous, and hated at the same time.

"COME ON!!! JUST A LITTLE MORE AND OUR GUILD WILL BECOME FAMOUS INSIDE RISE," TrueFlame did his best to encourage his guild members. It worked, so they attacked even more fiercely. Vincent felt bad for kill stealing their boss but he had to do it. It wasn't just about becoming the number one in Rise, his life was also in danger. He had to do what he had to do.

The Fire Giant felt to its knees. He was almost dying, so he casted his ultimate skill. The giant punched the ground, shooting a wave of flames that killed tons of players. Only a few remained, but it was enough. After that attack the boss couldn't do anything, and only waited for its death.

They were almost killing it, one more hit and all the glory would be theirs. But then, a mysterious hooded figure appeared out of nowhere, right in front of the boss. This figure was precisely Vincent, in his The Seer identity.

He shot his Water Shot skill, causing extra damage to the boss.

[174 DMG]

[230 XP Earned]

[Level Up]

[System announcement: congratulations to the player The Seer for killing the first Bronze Tier boss. Reward with 1 Gold Coin and a unique Skill.]

All of the HellFlame members couldn't understand what had just happened. TrueFlame looked enraged towards the black hooded figure. Vincent than grabbed all the boss loot, and turned to face HellFlame guild's leader.

He looked straight into TrueFlame eyes, smiled and sent thumbs up, and then vanished...
