5 The two sides

An hour after the situation resolved itself, I discreetly called all of the great nobles, generals, and scientists from all over the empire, to plan for a possible Alien invasion, and to plan our own.

After they arrived I led them into the palace's "War room," which featured A detailed high-resolution image of the Milky Way Arm we are on.

The aliens are to our south, represented by a large "?" hovering over that region.

Some generals, Nobles, and researchers are sitting around this table, including Uncle Shen.

"Thank you for coming on such short notice gentlemen, I believe you have all been informed of the current situation?"

After receiving a few nods I continued.

"Good! Then we can get right to it."

I stretched my right hand out towards the Axuria system and held it there for a few seconds, after which, the map zoomed into the Axuria system.

The map responded to the movement and zoomed in on the Axuria system, where 10 corvettes are on standby.

"Here in the Axuria system, we encountered our first alien life, and on top of that, their technology seems to be equivalent to ours or even superior."

"The ship they sent over was similar to our own corvettes in terms of scale and weaponry, which indicates that the odds of their technology being superior to our own are low, nonetheless we must remain cautious." I continued: "Which is why I called all of you here, you all have expertise that could prove useful to this important meeting."

"How should we respond to this new threat?"

We have to decide as soon as possible, the corvette wasn't the only ship in the system, cargo ships are constantly moving between systems and transporting goods across the Empire, and even though I ordered them to be quiet, and paid them handsomely to do so, all it takes is one too many beers and the secret is out.

A general spoke: "Has his majesty ordered for more ships to be built?"

"Yes I have, there are five more corvettes currently being built."

"If possible I would up that to ten corvettes, or at least make a special unit specifically for invading xeno worlds."

Most of the people at the table voiced their agreement with the general's idea.

"Ten corvettes is unfortunately impossible right now general, but I will make the special unit." He nodded "Thank you, your majesty."

"Your majesty. I believe you mentioned that the aliens sent us a file possibly containing their language. is this true?" A nobleman spoke.

"Yes that's accurate, it is currently ten percent finished and the team believes it will take another eight months of nonstop research to fully translate it."

"Then how about we find their location and send them our own language? Maybe they can translate our language faster than we can theirs? And while we do that we can observe them and find out more about their capabilities."

This idea received several nods and hums of approval.

"I have already sent out multiple science vessels to investigate where the aliens went, and we have detected some signals, but that's, unfortunately, it for now, thank you for the idea."

"No need to thank me, your majesty."

"Your majesty? I believe that right now we are better off not telling the people about the current situation until rumors spread, before that happens, we should instill as much confidence into the royal navy." My uncle spoke.

"Yes, let's do that, thank you, Uncle."

"Your majesty, I request that you share all available data regarding the aliens with trustworthy scientists so that we can maybe learn something from them." A scientist suggested.

"We would appreciate it if you did the same with the army." A general jumped in.

"Very well, I will send the data to the army and I already have my own personal group of trustworthy scientists."

"Your majesty, if I may speak." I nodded at the noble. "I believe there is currently not much we can do, the best we can do is reinforce our defenses, prepare for a possible war, and translate their language."

"Does everyone agree?" A majority of the people present nodded. "Very well, the meeting is now officially over, you may all leave, and I don't think I have to say this... but don't say anything you heard in this room in public."

"That is all, dismissed."

After the meeting ended, I adjusted the military budget and increased it as much as I reasonably could, any new corvettes were immediately sent to either the front or to outer space to explore it.

Weeks passed and rumors rapidly spread about the Aliens, although most dismissed them, a loud minority was now present across the Empire, and they were calling for war.

These people were simply terrified of any concept of alien life that could threaten them, which Adam could understand.

But he couldn't allow such a group to gain power and influence among the normal people, so he mercilessly suppressed them, after all, with such a group in power, peaceful coexistence with the aliens was impossible.

And it was already very unlikely.

On another note, more alien ships were found to the south, but we still haven't found a planet or base of any kind.

Still, the ships were enough and we managed to send them our language.

We have also been listening to any broadcasts we could, and that sped our research up by a lot.

Now we only need 4 months to hold a conversation with them.

And Adam would have to do it himself.

'Fuck my life...' Adam was calmer and more calculating than ever thanks to the amount of time he has spent as Emperor and he suspected there was another... more supernatural force.

But meeting a whole different species still overwhelmed him, after all, one meeting will decide the fate of two different species.

'And who knows how many more there are out there...'

The Empire was stronger than ever, it now owned eleven systems and was still expanding, the fleet has a staggering thirty corvettes, and has stopped expanding at this time.

But Adam was still uneasy, if they were getting stronger, then their counterparts were also probably getting more and more powerful.

The fear of the unknown is the greatest fear in the human mind, and right now Adam had to go face to face with it.

But Adam is no coward, and he won't let his fear paralyze him.

Just as all of this was going through my head, I received an urgent call once again.

"I swear..." I mumbled to myself and picked it up.

"Yes?"

"Your majesty! We have found an alien station. but there seems to be another alien species here already. The two appear to be hostile to each other and are currently engaging in a standoff, how should we proceed?"

"How large are the fleets?" "Both sides have around twenty to thirty corvettes."

"Stand back and observe them for now."

The familiar aliens had more sleek and ball-shaped ships, and even the station had a round-ish shape.

The new aliens, on the other hand, their ships were made out of an unknown red material, the ships were jagged and rough in design.

The Alpha Aliens (The first ones) made the first move and began shooting long-range lasers from their station, but a shield materialized in front of the red ships and deflected the lasers.

The Beta Aliens (Red ships) now charged towards the station, but only fired after they got closer to the Alpha Aliens.

This gave the Alpha aliens multiple shots at the Beta aliens, and multiple of the Beta ships have had their shields clearly weakened.

Now that the Beta ships were in range, however, a slew of railguns and missiles shot out at the Alpha ships, destroying multiple of them.

The Alphas quickly recovered and fired their own railguns, but no missiles.

They intentionally targeted the weakened ships of the Betas, destroying most of them.

Now each side had twenty corvettes max, and numbers on both sides were quickly dwindling.

At this point, multiple hours have passed, and both armies were now circling around each other, trying to outmaneuver each other.

Small groups ganged up on lone ships and quickly annihilated them before they could get help.

The station provided crucial help, picking off Beta ships every time it shot.

The battle was slowly turning in favor of the Alpha aliens, but then the red ships released something from them, and when one of the Alpha touched it, it exploded, causing a massive chain reaction that most of the red ships were able to flee from.

Now the Beta Aliens had around twelve corvettes remaining, while the Alpha Aliens had only three and a station.

It was a close battle, but with the Alpha Aliens weakened so much, it was a foregone conclusion.

At the end of it, only four Beta Alien ships remained standing.

And now they turned to the Science vessel at the edge of the system.

And shot at one of the asteroids close to it.

"Leave, we saw everything we needed," I ordered and the science ship quickly left.

...

Quskar Republic Pov:

The Quskar Republic is a righteous nation, they believe in freedom, equality, and other good things. They have always been kind and pleasant people, so when they encountered another life in the universe a few years ago, they immediately tried to get close to them.

But they were shocked.

The other species was a disgusting Monarchy.

Their name is the Kuckod Regime.

They were furious, how dare someone call themselves superior to others just because of birth?

Their green bodies went black in rage just at the thought of such a thing.

So they went to war and almost won.

Almost.

The damned monarchists had one advantage over them, and that was that one person held most, if not all, of the power.

This made decision-making very quick, while they had to go through votes, their council, politics, and other inconveniences.

The monarchist's troops were also unwaveringly loyal, they didn't hesitate to kill themselves to protect their god-Emperor.

They tried to tell them that they were being tricked, they really tried.

But they were too stupid to understand.

And after all of this... They find another species.

They were more skeptical this time, and it's a good thing they were.

More. Damn. Monarchists.

They didn't know when they send them their language, but oh well.

It's too late now.

They will keep fighting for the liberty and freedom of all life, alien or not.

...

Kuckod Regime Pov:

We have always been strong and determined people, we killed, tamed, and build our society from the corpses of our enemies.

And we stood tall as we headed into outer space.

Then those self-righteous Quaskars showed up and tried to free us by force.

Our God Being corrupt? Ridiculous.

the Royals have led us since ancient times, not always successful, but always good, they protected us, led us, and made us what and who we are today.

None of us dare to claim to be better than them, the best the best of us can do is give them advice.

Since they couldn't brainwash us into following them, they tried to take us by force.

We will never let that happen.

They will be buried beneath our appendages and used to expand our civilization further.

At least they will do something good for once.

Another Empire has been discovered by the Quaskars, Ha! Maybe they will join hands with us against them and their self-righteous invasion.

Oh, the irony would be wonderful.

That is up to them, as long as they don't go against us, we don't care.

Let them follow that self-proclaimed Emperor.

He is still inferior compared to the great one.
