5 Chapter 5: War On Drugs Heats Up

Stifling a yawn I stretched my arms up into the air.

I then stood up from my chair since my butt had fallen asleep, and it needed to be waken up. Though since I've been in my office here at A.I.M. HQ working for three hours straight I get why it fell asleep in the first place.

Eventually my ass woke up.

Once it did I went to get myself a snack.

After I finished I got back to work.

I then did so for another hour before winding down and making my way home.

A trend I continued for another two days before I stopped.

Since I decided to take an entire day to prepare for my second meeting with president Souza.

Which then arrived.

[April 1st, 2003]

[Alvorada Palace, Brasilia, Brazil]

Unlike the other night this time I was respectful and landed right outside the gates of the Palace.

The moment I did so the gates began opening, and I was then escorted inside the grounds by members of the presidential guard battalion.

All of whom were dressed in full tactical gear, caring fully automatic weapons.

Not that they could stop someone like me even with what they have, but if it makes them feel better who am I too judge.

Moving on.

After being allowed entry onto the grounds I was escorted directly to the palace. I was then escorted to a private room on the second floor, where president Souza was waiting for me.

Along with several other high ranking figures in the Brazilian government.

The current Brazilian attorney general, Maria Campos.

The current minister of justice and public security, Davi Alves.

The current general of the entire Brazilian army, Benicio Nunes.

Finally the current minster of foreign affairs, Cesar Rocha.

As the door to the room was closed by the guards who had escorted me here I spoke up.

"Saudações a todos vocês. (Greetings to you all)". I spoke. "Então, presumo que o presidente lhe contou o que propus a ele outra noite? (So, I take it the president has filled you on what I proposed to him the other night)"

"Ele tem. (He has)". Attorney general Campos spoke.

"E? O que vocês dizem? (And? What say you all?)" I questioned.

"Se não gostássemos da sua proposta, Sr. Mancha Solar, esta reunião nem estaria acontecendo. (If we didn't like your proposal Mr. Sunspot then this meeting wouldn't even be happening)" General Nunes bluntly said.

Which I was fine with.

Since I prefer someone to say what they mean directly, then dealing with any roundabout shit. Even though I know how to. I just prefer not too.

"Pois bem, vamos ao que interessa então. (Well then, let's get down to business then)" I said.

The president, along with the people he invited to this meeting nodded their heads.

Once they did so we all took our seats and began the discussion we had all come for.

Which by the time it ended was fruitful for all involved.

Very fruitful indeed.

Since it allowed phase two of current plan to be set into motion.

What a glorious day it is.

[April 19th, 2003]

(3rd Person: POV)

"Run!"

"He's coming!"

"Foda-se esse filho da puta do sol! (Fuck that sun fucker)"

These, and other curses and shouts rang out through the air as various individuals ran for their lives through the part of the Amazon rainforest they were currently located in.

As for what these individuals were running from, it was Sunspot.

Now as to why Sunspot was targeting these individuals who were running from him in the first place, it was because they were all members of a major drug cartel.

Which made them targets for the Brazilian meta-human.

For Roberto was now involved in the war on drugs.

During the meeting with president Souza some three weeks ago, and those from his cabinet who were apart of said meeting, Roberto made a deal with them and officially became a deputized agent of the Brazilian government.

But he was not formally an employee of the government.

Instead Roberto was a sort of independent contractor.

That way if he needed to he could cut ties with the Brazilian government and go back to doing his own thing should the need arise.

All of which was defined in a legal contract he had lawyers he trusted draw up, and then put through the Brazilian courts.

Since Roberto was not about to let himself be screwed in any way, shape, or form.

Anyway.

After the legal side of things was settled Roberto went to work.

Coordinating with the Brazilian military, federal police, and the courts Roberto had begun working to dismantle the drug cartels that had been plaguing his country for decades.

Taking down the cartels leadership, destroying product, collecting their funds and giving said funds to the Brazilian government to use against the cartels themselves, etc.

Roberto was not holding back in the slightest.

Which is how he had wiped out 60% of the Brazilian drug trade in only three weeks.

This in turn had the citizens of Brazil loving Sunspot.

Well, those that weren't involved in the drug trade. But honestly they didn't really matter.

Neither did the international response to Roberto's actions, and those of the Brazilian government.

After all everything they were doing was perfectly legal, so Brazil told the rest of the world where they could shove it.

Which in turn made Roberto cry a few tears of joy. Since it proved his home country was growing up. It was a beautiful sight to behold.

"Ah, they grow up so fast." Roberto thought.

Right after he did though he noticed a warhead from an RPG heading straight towards him.

"They never learn, do they." Roberto mused.

Easily flying and avoiding the warhead fired at him.

Once Roberto did this he held up his right hand in the direction of the warhead and unleashed a blast of super concentrated heat directly at it. Destroying the thing within seconds.

The moment this was accomplished Roberto flew downwards towards the people who had fired the RPG at him in the first place, and then once he was in range fired off a blast of super concentrated heat directly at them.

Burning them to a crisp, and killing them instantly.

Since as an agent of the Brazilian government Roberto had authorization to use lethal force against those he dealt with.

Meaning now he had a literally license to kill.

As for the killing it didn't really bother Roberto much at all. Especially when his victims were people who took advantage of innocence and pushed drugs through his country.

Yeah, he has no fucks to give.

Once Roberto was sure the enemies before him were good and dead he moved onto the rest. Assisting the military force that had been dispatched to raid this drug compound alongside of him.

In a little while everything was finished.

Most of the cartel members were dead, the drugs and cash they had been guarding had been secured, and they were no causalities on Roberto's side.

All in all a good days work.

Once Roberto made sure everything was wrapped up, and everyone got where they were supposed to be, he decided to head home for the day.

Glad that he had heated up the war on drugs.

A/N: Yeah Roberto isn't afraid to make waves. Just continue reading to see him continued to do so.
