1 Where It Began

CHAPTER ONE

Aria's POV

I open my eyes only to be met with a bright shining light and shut them back quickly.

"Who had forgotten to switch off the light," I voice out in a low voice, too scared to yell so that the witch wouldn't scold me.

Turning my head to the side, I manage to pry open my eyes and adjust to the light in the room…

Wait. It was now I noticed, I was not in my room or any room for that matter, I was in a blank space!

No. No. No.

'Where the heck is this?!' I screamed in my mind as I managed to sit up.

Something was definitely wrong. How did I get here anyways?

Racking my brain for answers, I suddenly saw it, like a flash before my eyes.

It was Jade. She said something that made me lose my temper and I slapped her.

Insulting me was one thing but insulting my mother… I could never stand for that.

One thing led to another and oh…

HONK!

BANG!

GASP!

My eyes opened again, as my chest rose and fell with great force. I stare right ahead, this time the room although white, it was not as bright as the other.

The next thing I heard…

BEEP! BEEP!

"Oh my God! She's awake!"

Huh? Who is… wait, what is she talking about?

Not having time to figure out what was going on, I heard the lady's voice again as I turned my head to the side.

"She's awake! Doctor! Nurse! She's awake!"

The next thing, she was already standing as she dashed out of the room to call for help, I suppose.

Taking the opportunity to look around, I heard the sound of the machine beeping near my head and when I looked down, I saw the drip connected to my hand as its liquid flowed down and into my vein.

What is going on here?

I didn't have to wonder too much as the door pushed open and not one but two doctors and a nurse rushed in with the lady from before and walked up to me.

"Get the things ready. We need to ensure she is stable. Quickly."

"Doctor, please tell me she is okay. Please."

"Ma'am calm down. Your daughter would be fine."

A few minutes passed with several checks on my eyes, in my mouth and God knows what, as well as countless questions occurred, finally, I heard the voice of the first doctor call out to the lady.

"Ma'am, your daughter is okay. It is a miracle, there is no much problem."

"Much problem!" I heard the lady exclaim.

"No. What I mean is that, just a few observations and drugs, then she would be fine and ready to go home. Relax, all is well with your daughter."

YOUR DAUGHTER!

That was the third time I was hearing him use that phrase. What daughter? I did not know her, neither was she my foster mother.

At least that witch left an impression on me that I would never forget and she did not look like this nice lady over here.

Never would the witch and her perfectly trained assistant of a daughter ever care for me.

I watch as she greeted them and walked them over to the door before closing it and coming towards where I was.

"Jade, say something. It is me, your mother," she said almost in tears.

Wait… Hold up!

Did she just call me Jade? As in, the Jade?

It was as though she was reading my mind or my confused face gave me away, because the next statement that came out from her mouth left me mouth open wide.

"Yes, you, Jade, Jade Jordan, my one and only daughter."

It felt as though a glass just shattered on my face and I was faced with reality.

WHAT!

I blinked uncontrollably, trying my best to understand what was going on. I looked to the side and to my amazement, I saw a phone by my side and quickly picked it up.

And what a shocker I got when I saw that the person staring right back at me was not my face but the face of my worst enemy!

My mind went into a haze as I racked my brain for answers. Anything that could explain to me what I was doing in the body of the girl I hated the most in this world.

"Jade, do not worry. I understand you must feel overwhelmed," her voice broke me out of my reverie.

"The doctor said due to the severity of the accident, that you are likely not going to remember much for now that you awoke."

Accident? What accident?

"I am sad. I wished you hadn't stopped by that coffee shop on your way to the office that day and the truck had not hit you."

Truck? Accident… Wait. I remember.

*FLASHBACK**

HONK!

The sound of cars horning could be heard echoing on the streets as more and more cars joined in the traffic.

I looked ahead at the conjested traffic and sighed. Well I was one lucky girl to have this happen right?

At least I could cross the road but it wasn't funny a while back when I was the one stuck in traffic.

Yikes! The time as gone.

I had a meeting with my employer. You see I was a twenty three years old girl who was still living with her parents, well father and step mother, alongside my bitchy step sister.

Phew! That was my life and getting this job was definitely going to give me money to move out and get my own place.

But bummer, I am late. Keeping my thoughts out for the way, I rushed ahead, hoping to still make it on time before…

BUMP!

"Arrgh! What good for nothing imbecile just ran into me?" I heard the sharp and piercing annoying voice of a girl curse.

"I am sorry, so sorry," I apologized the second my eyes landed on her ruined white knee high gown.

Oh God! I just ruined her outfit!

"Sorry? Gosh! The heck! Is sorry going to fix any of this?"

Wait that voice. I could never forget it.

Peeling my gaze from her ruined outfit, I looked up to see the face of the one I just bumped into and God I wished I hadn't.

"Why you brat think a sorry can just…" she paused, her gaze meeting mine.

I hoped she would just ignore at least for old time sake. Wait what am I even thinking of?

A loud scoff brought me back to the matter at hand.

"If it isn't the one and only nerdy piece of trash from Crown Ville's College. I must be cursed today to run into this idiot!"

Clenching my fist at my side, I swallowed all of her insult. My nemesis!

Back in college, she was my worst enemy. She was the rich girl who looked down on those not in her social stat and I was her favourite target.

My life was literally a living hell because of her. Between her and my step sis, I really do not know who was worst.

Perhaps she was, maybe not.

"Hey!" she said snapping her fingers in my face with her right hand while her left, still held her brown purse causing it to dangle with her body movement.

She hasn't changed, as she?

"Look Jade, I am sorry. It was a mistake."

"Sorry. We are back to that bullshit."

I just couldn't do this right now. I was running late! I reminded myself.

"Okay, tell me your address I would buy your dress back."

"And what can your poor ass pay for? You think I am a slump rat like you? Or is it the ragged clothes your mistress of a mother left you that you want to sell and use to buy my outfit?"

That was it. I could no longer hold back my anger.

"Please do not use your bitchy mistress mother's money on me. It would be an insult and a curse…"

POW!

0_0

Her eyes widened from the shock but I was not done.

"You slap…"

POW!

"Aria!"

"I would do so again if I must!" I yelled out in anger, drawing the attention of everyone passing by.

My body, not obeying my mind again and acting on its own, shook with rage.

"How dare you wench…"

POW!

She did not give me a chance to hear what she said when her hands landed on me. I forgot all reasoning and raised my hands back at her.

She caught it easily. Apparently she had gotten over her daze and was ready to prove to me she ruled.

Within a minute, we were already at each other's neck, pulling our hair and tossing our body from side to side.

"Let go," I ordered.

"Over my dead body."

That was all I heard her mumble and the next thing, we sauntered into the road but we didn't stop.

All of a sudden…

HONKK!!

We stopped briefly but before either of us could react…

BANG!
