7 Chapter 7 New World More Bandits

"OOH YEAH!!"

"Time to leave this stupid world, I hope I get a modern world with proper toilets, internet and soda".

Once Mordred had awoken in the morning she began packing her belongings then stored it all inside her inventory. Now it was late afternoon and she was back inside the forest, she was staring at the system panel.

"Moment of truth". She activated the world travel function

[Warning: World travel initiating]

In an instant she was engulfed in bright cosmic energy. After a few seconds the light receded and Mordred had vanished, no trace was left.

Inside a dark forest with only the broken moon providing light, a bright flash of light appeared instantaneously and disappeared just as quickly.

"BLLEEUUUUGHHH!!"

Our protagonist was on her knees vomiting her lunch onto the forest floor.

"I feel like shit". Mordred was on her knees holding her stomach with one hand and covering her mouth with the other.

[Report: A side effect of dimensional traveling for the first time, your body will get used to it]

After recovering she slowly got up and looked at her surroundings, a forest similar to the one she just left. She readied her rifle and took up a cautious stance, monitoring for any threats.

"Ava, where are we?"

[Report: Look up]

Mordred turned her gaze to the sky. She widened her eyes and dropped her jaw, she stared at the broken moon that ignited the night sky.

"Holy shit".

'Then that means I'm in…".

"RAWWWRR".

The split second she heard the noise, her instincts kicked in and her body moved on its own, she turned and aimed her rifle before releasing several shots.

~Thud~

A massive wolf-like creature covered entirely in black fur, a bone-like mask on its head and bone-like spikes protruding from some parts of its body.

"Well I guess that answers my question".

She slowly walked over to the body then stopped a few feet away from it.

~BANG~

She put a bullet in its head for good measure. Then its body started to slowly evaporate.

"So I know where I am now, the question is when am I?"

Mordred looked around the forest again.

"Never mind back to the first question, WHERE AM I?"

"Ava?"

[Report: Unknown]

"Guess I'll have to do things the old fashion way".

Mordred grabbed the nearest stick, she stood it on one end then let go of it. The stick pointing in a random direction.

"This way then".

And with that she departed into the unknown.

-One week later-

"Finally signs of civilization, railroad tracks!".

Mordred fell to her knees and began praising the tracks.

'Now up or down, hmmm, up it is'.

She began traveling up the railroad tracks hoping to find people. She was tired of camping out in the wilderness and looking out for grimm. She walked for a few hours till she found a stopped train with smoke coming out of one of the carriages.

"Sniff sniff, smells like trouble".

She brought her rifle out and slowly approached the train, staying carefully hidden within the forest shrubbery. With her excellent eyesight she stayed a good distance away and noticed a few figures walking around the outside of the train. These individuals wore white outfits with hoods and a grimm looking mask.

'Must be the white fang and judging by the looks of the train it should be a cargo one, a classic train robbery'.

She watched as the more white fang came out of the carriages with boxes labeled with a snowflake emblem, they stacked the boxes outside and next to the pile were two humans tied up who were no doubt the train conductors.

'How do I approach this? Well I could just ignore it but if I do help I could get a free ride and money which I will need, Hmm ah screw it they are as strong as bandits, let's do this'.

Mordred moved silently toward the train, observed 15 of the white fang and decided to quietly take them out one by one until they noticed something was up. She carefully stalked one of them who was alone, leaning against a tree, smoking a cigarette.

'I hope this guy hasn't unlocked his aura or has it active'.

Once close enough she unsheathed her knife and grabbed him, pulling him to the ground. She covered his mouth with one hand while she quickly stabbed his throat with the knife. There was a quick flicker of light on his body before it just as quickly disappeared. The man struggled, flailing his arms and legs while trying to bite Mordred's hand as the knife went deeper into his throat. After a few more seconds his body went limp.

'Smoking in a forest? Smokey the bear would be disappointed in you'. She cleaned the blood off her knife using the now dead man's shirt.

She continued this, grabbing any stray wanderers or those that were alone and silenced them.

"Hey where is everyone". One of the white fang members who had a larger build then everyone else with horns on the side of his head, presumably the leader.

"Probably out on patrol". One of his lackeys replied.

"I know that but they should have come back by now".

"Maybe they joined in on the looting or they are slacking off somewhere".

"Hmm maybe, but something doesn't feel right". The boss was thinking of what could have happened when a sudden noise interrupted his thoughts.

~CLINK~

"Oh what's this?" The lackey said as he picked up the green strangely shaped spherical object. The boss quickly recognized what the object could be.

"WAIT THROW THAT AW—".

~BOOM~

The grenade went off, the lackey was shredded by the shrapnel but the boss whose aura was strong managed to survive the blow just barely. He was blown to the ground, the remaining white fang who heard the explosion quickly rushed over. Five of them remained.

"Boss what happened!"

One of them who had deer antlers on his head ran to his boss to help.

~BANG BANG BANG BANG~

Four shots rang out hitting the man, his aura tanked three of the shots then broke before the final shot was nailed right into his head. The three quickly hid behind the looted crates.

"ASH!" A female voice cried out.

The boss finally recovered and gave his orders. "Return fire!"

"We don't know where they are!"

"Just shoot!"

They opened fire into the forest shrubbery, after a minute they stopped. There was no movement or unnatural noise from the forest.

"Did we get the-".

~CLINK~

"GRENADE!"

The grenade went off but instead of an explosion of shrapnel that they expected they got a blinding light and deafening sound. Being temporarily blind and deaf Mordred rushed forward with a knife and pistol in both hands. She fired her pistol landing two shots onto one of aura-less fangs killing him.

Three remained. Their vision returned but it was too late for one of them as Mordred pierced his chest, stabbing his heart. The female fang who saw this broke, her desire for survival controlled her body as she turned and ran as fast as she could. Mordred paid no attention to her as the boss fang ran at her with his rusted makeshift sword, He raised the sword above his head and swung downward. Mordred simply sidestepped and unloaded three shots into his chest. The mans aura flickered but held strong.

'Maybe I should capture him, I could get more money from it'. She quickly sheathed her knife and holstered the pistol.

"I'LL KILL YOU!"

He swung vertically at her neck but she ducked. She activated her mana burst and delivered a powerful uppercut that shattered his aura and knocked him out.

She looked around her surroundings but the other surviving fang was nowhere in sight. Mordred then gazed upon the carnage she created.

"Damn I'm good".
