Jorah raised an eyebrow at the contradictory statement. "Explain."

"Lord, we are on the left, and they are on the right. Our shores are miles apart. Even if they continue expanding to the left, they cannot cross the land that separates our shores at the neck. As long as there is no canal connecting both sides, we are mutually restrained," Ser Stephen explained.

"Hmmm…Is there anyone else who has a different view from Stephen or everyone agrees?"

Jorah asked the crowd that had gone silent.

"M'Lord, I believe sooner or later we will fight. Even though Our Island and White Harbor are too far apart, we are expanding in the same region – north."

Elros was the first to speak out. After him, even Chief Walrus spoke, "My tribe and my people have never been even out of Wolfswood in history and so I cannot comment on White Harbor. But I do know one thing, when one tribe expands, the tribes around it will always live in fear."

Jorah listened to the thoughts of his men and allowed them to debate and argue so that they could understand the problems their Island was facing. After some time when these half-drunk men let the booze get on their nerves and were ready to curse each other's mothers, Jorah had to interrupt.

"Stop the fucking madness. Oye! I'm still here. Ain't I? Now, I heard all you hotheads talking and I agree with most of your views. Yes, sooner or later, the paths of Bear Island and White Harbor will cross each other but we must avoid it till the last minute.

Don't forget it is the only city in the north and the only place that has been trading in the north for generations. Don't underestimate their strength or foundation.

Plus, their location allows them to trade easily with King's landing to other southern lands. While we have Ironborns on our heads. So, for now, stay vigilant and keep a check on the movements of White Harbor and their traders but avoid any direct confrontation."

Jorah finished the discussion with these words but somehow these words hit an invisible pain point in everyone listening around. Since Jorah came back from war, people have been floating. They were generally getting the idea that they were the next overlords of the north and their power was strong enough to challenge almost any other houses, especially on water.

However, reality slapped them hard and woke them up. Yes, while they are progressing others are not sitting behind. House Manderly has developed as the only city in the north, which is a clear indication of its strength. Their deep pockets allow them to have a very large army, something that can challenge the Ironborns and so far, they have never been involved in major wars.

It's like a castle that has been built for generations and never suffered a catastrophe. No one can be sure if they know the strength of its walls or how deep its foundation goes.

Jorah was also happy to see these changes. Yes, it is great to be proud of your hard work but being proud is not the capital to be arrogant and ignorant.

"Now, we all know about White Harbor but what about Lannisport?" Jorah asked the other two spies who had been silent and waiting for their chance.

"M'Lord, Lannisport deserves its name. Our furs and our fish are very popular there. Especially the golden trout that we have been shipping from Frozen Shore. It has become a gift for the House Lannisters and I have heard that one of the port managers, Kelvin Lannister who is from a branch family is now preparing to secure an exclusive trade with us for this fish.

Second, their security is good but they are very lax. They have no enemies and they believe no one can attack them. Their watch towers have been emptied for years and only some guards patrol the whole dock area and the town around it."

"Yes, M'lord. Lannisters are generous in payment and they have a very developed trade network. Plus, there are hundreds if not thousands of merchants in that area. I have already sent an invitation to a merchant group and asked them to travel to Bear Island in case they want better goods and cheap prices."

These two spies were sent to collect information but they spoke more about trade confusing Jorah and others.

"Is there no important information about Lannisters regarding north or kingdom?"

Jorah had to ask this specifically.

"M'Lord, the only information I could find is that the Crown had imposed heavy taxes on Lannisport and their mines but so far, there is no response from House Lannister. Besides, they pay no attention to the north but they are active in Essos."

One of the spies finally spoke but this information didn't help Jorah much.

"Understood. You two have done good work in developing the trade but I hope you won't forget the information is also very precious. It will be a great opportunity for the Island if traders from Lannisport can take a chance and come to visit us but don't keep your hopes high.

Remember, in the south, we northern houses are considered to be barbarians and this perception isn't going to change anytime soon."

Jorah ordered these two men and also decided to send more spies in Lannisport. No information means either the information is deeply hidden and out of the reach from these people or Casterly Rock is laying low without involving themselves in matters of kingdom.

Jorah believes both of them could be true as the lions of the rock won't allow bears to snoop around and they won't roar until their territory is in danger.

The meeting turned into a drinking party and Jorah left the bar to his man and came back home to his wife and son.

"You are back!" Lady Annara woke up as soon as Jorah entered the room.

"Hmm…" Jorah just nodded and kissed his wife on the head.

"Please, go take a shower. You stink of cheap ale." Lady Annara pushed her husband away and went back to sleep. Poor Jorah had no other option but to drag his favourite maid trio for a late-night bath and some physical exercise.

Now, this is his small harem and he has no fear of fathering bastards. So, by the time he was done, all three women lay on the floor with their legs spread and Jorah's seeds leaking from their cunts.

"Being a Lord is not easy," sighed Jorah before going upstairs for much-needed sleep with his small family.
