18 Chapter 18

Hagrid woke up in a wooden bed that looked slightly old. He tried moving, but he couldn't. Just as he was starting to panic, his body started moving on its own. He couldn't move or speak. The only think he could do was observe. He noticed that his body was much smaller than it used to be. He watched as the body moved to a different room where he washed his face and used the bathroom.

Hagrid observed as the body moved downstairs, where a short old man was preparing breakfast. The body opened its mouth and said in a childish voice, "Good morning, Dad."

The short man looked startled before answering, "Oh, good morning, little Rubeus. You're up early. Sit at the table; breakfast is almost ready.

As Hagrid observed, he could feel the young boy's nervousness, as if he was about to do something stupid. And sure enough, the boy asked, "Dad, when is Mommy coming back?

The short man froze before saying, "I'm sure it won't be long before she comes back.

In reality, he knew that she might never come back, but he didn't want to break Hagrid's heart, so he lied like all parents do to protect their children.

The little boy felt joy not knowing it's just a lie to appease him.

All of a sudden, the scene shifted. Hagrid Couldn't see anything, but he could feel the little boy's fear and anxiety. The boy hid under his blanket, trying hard to block the sound of his parents's shouting.

"How could you bear to leave us... to leave me? My friends advised me not to marry you, but I refused to listen. You know why? it's because I love you!" Hagrid's father screamed in rage.

"You useless thing, how dare you? I thought that marrying a Wizard would ensure the birth of a powerful giant, but instead I gave birth to a powerless midget. I'm leaving, so stop sending people after me. If you send another person, I'm taking that thing and let the giants raise it." Hagrid's mother spoke loudly, not caring if the boy heard her.

Hagrid could feel the boy's sadness and anguish, but he couldn't do anything to help him.

"How could you say that about our child?!! Rubeus kept asking for you, and I had to lie to him. I had to lie to my own child because of you. Leave you fucking whore...and never come b-." Hagrid's father said in a hurt voice.

However, before he could finish speaking, he was slapped away by the angry giantess.

The giantess left, making this the last time that Hagrid and his father will ever see her.

The scene changed again. But this time, Hagrid felt joy because the boy received his Hogwarts letter. Hagrid had long realized that these are his memories.

The boy ran down the stairs to look for his father and share the good news with him.

"Dad, dad!!" The little boy shouted in joy.

Hagrid's father had a listless face, like nothing in this world could interest him, but when he saw Hagrid, he forced himself to smile.

"What is it Rubeus?"

"Dad, I received my Hogwarts letter!" The little boy said breathlessly.

"Really?!" The old man said in surprise, his face finally regaining some vitality.

"Yes, look here." The boy said, while handing the Hogwarts letter to his father.

The old man read the letter with shaky hands. His eyes blurred and he started crying.

He wiped his tears in a hurry, before saying, "Alright, little Rubeus; go and prepare. We are going to buy your school supplies from Diagon Alley."

Hagrid felt happy for the boy, but his happiness didn't last. The boy couldn't make any friends...human ones at least. All the students avoided him, so he spent his time in the Forbidden Forest, playing with the magical creatures and his pet spider, feeling immense joy. However, his happiness didn't last long.

The scene shifted again; this time to a funeral.

The young man stood in front of his father's grave, shedding silent tears. As Hagrid observed, he felt every ounce of pain that the young man felt. Hagrid never felt so much pain from the young man, not when his mother left, not when she hurt him with her words, and not when every student in Hogwarts avoided him like a plague.

After the funeral, the young man became reckless. He started going into the Forbidden Forest not to play with the magical creatures, but to fight dangerous magical creatures.

Thankfully, he only found a single troll. And every weekend, he would go into the forest and fight to fight it. Fortunately, he never got too injured while fighting the troll. After all, being a half giant has its perks. Eventually, one day, the troll disappeared, and never came back.

The memories kept changing, until they reached the moment of Hagrid's death. But this time, the point of view changed. Jack floated over Hagrid's dying body. He watched...horrified as Hagrid's body shattered into pieces. The piece floated in front of Jack, giving him a weird attraction.

Controlled by his desire, Jack gently touched a piece; the piece crumpled into particles, and merged with Jack's apparition, giving him a feeling of euphoria. That simple touch caused a domino effect, as all the pieces started to merge with Jack. In the end, Jack's euphoria turned to pain, and he left the memory as soon as the last piece merged with him.

"Aghhh!!!"

Hagrid screamed as he woke up, causing the healers to rush to his room.

The healers started to cast diagnostic spells on Hagrid, but they couldn't find anything wrong with him. In fact, he is very healthy

"Alright, give him a calming draught, and he should be fine after a while." The healers restrained Hagrid before forcing the potion down his throat.

Slowly, but surely, Hagrid started to calm down.

"Alright, he should be fine. We should inform the Aurors that he is finally awake." One of the healers said, as they headed out.

After a while, Hagrid finally came to his senses. He looked around in amazement, making it hard for him to believe what he was seeing and feeling. He felt joy in both his mind and body for the first time since his transmigration. But this is not the main reason for his astonishment. No! The main reason for his surprised reaction is that he could see a colorless aura surrounding the sleeping Lucas. The aura swayed gently every time Lucas moved.

The aura started to ripple, making Hagrid extremely puzzled, but his puzzlement didn't last long as Lucas started to wake up.

Hagrid observed Lucas's aura closely; his aura calmed down again when he became fully awake. But that calmness didn't last long as his aura rippled again when he saw that Hagrid was awake.

"Thank God, you're finally awake, Kid. You scared the life out of me. You've been unconscious for three days. I thought you would never wake up! Glad to have you back, Kid" Lucas said while heaving a sigh of relief.

"What?!! Three da-" Hagrid didn't finish his words because he noticed the same aura as Lucas's on his body.

Hagrid just stared at his hand in shock, making Lucas feel worried that Hagrid's injury has affected his brain.

"Are you alright, Kid?" Lucas asked with concern.

Hagrid finally snapped out of his stupor and said, "Can't you see it?

"See what?! Kid, are you messing with me? There is nothing to see here! What are you talking about?" Lucas said nervously.

Hagrid stared at Lucas's aura in silence before saying, "Heh, I'm just messing with you."

"Hah, what a relief! I thought you've gone mad for a second. Right, how do you feel?"

"Surprisingly, I feel great! I have never felt better in my life. Right, what happened after I passed out?" Hagrid asked happily.

"Well, I'm glad that you are this happy. As for what happened, I have no idea. After dealing with the hidden attackers, someone attacked me from behind and I passed out. After that, I woke up here in St Mungo's Hospital. Kid, tell me the truth. Do you have any enemies?

"Enemies?! I'm sixteen! What kind of enemy can I have?" Hagrid said in exasperation.

"I thought so as well, but I couldn't think of any other reason for the attack. Oh, by the way, thank you for saving me." Lucas said in a sincere voice.

"Huh? If I didn't save you, then both of us would've been screwed. Right, when can we leave?"

"We can leave anytime you want. And Luckily, St Mungo's Hospital is connected by Floo to Hogwarts, so we can arrive in seconds. The network is usually only used to transport heavily injured students, but I sent them a letter yesterday, and they agreed to let us pass." Lucas said in a smug tone.

"That's great! Let's go."

"Alright, that's great! You're as eager as me to reach Hogwarts. The healers need to do a check up before we leave. I will wait outside." Lucas said as he headed to the door.

After the healers allowed Hagrid to leave, he and Lucas headed to the basement to use the Floo.

"Alright, go ahead! Just say the name of Hogwarts throw the powder and jump. If nothing goes wrong, you should arrive saftly." Lucas said to a puzzled Hagrid.

"Wait, you're not going with me?" Hagrid asked in surprise.

"No, Kid. My job is done here, and I have other missions to do, so go ahead without me."

"Alright! Then, I'm going ahead. I hope we meet again in the future. Hogwarts!" Hagrid said as he threw the Floo powder into the fireplace, and jumped into the heatless emerald green flames.
