21 A Chat Between Primordials

Shaking off these unsettling thoughts, I decided to intervene. The godlings, completely clueless about their predicament, needed my help.

[Nyx POV]

I created a portal to the underworld right next to the Olympian godlings. Stepping through, I found barriers surrounding the siblings. It seemed the underworld was protecting its soon-to-be lord. However, it sensed my goodwill towards Hades and allowed me to enter.

Hestia knelt beside Hades, tending to his wounds. Poseidon scanned the area, searching for any remaining threats. Hera cradled Hades' head, channeling her energy in an attempt to help him recover faster.

The godlings immediately noticed me, their movements halting as they shifted into wary stances. A chuckle escaped my lips. "Do not worry, children of Cronus," I said gently. "I have no ill intentions towards you."

Though suspicion lingered in their eyes, exhaustion was evident. While not directly involved in Hades' fight with Cronus, they bore the scars of the aftermath – the residual effects of the battle and the imperfect teleportation that left them vulnerable to the spatial storms.

The blond-haired boy, his voice laced with trepidation, asked, "Could you tell us where we are and who you are?"

"Ah, manners," I mused. "I am Nyx, the primordial of night. And you are currently in the underworld."

[Poseidon POV]

The fight between Hades and Father had been a harsh reality check. The aftermath alone would have been enough to kill me and my siblings. If not for the barrier Hades placed around us, we wouldn't have stood a chance. They moved at such extreme speeds that the space around the realm shattered. All I could see were the remnants of their collisions.

The fight ended with Hades summoning terrifying white flames that consumed Cronus. But just as we escaped one problem, another emerged. Spatial storms formed as the realm crumbled. "Could life get any worse?" I thought, resigning myself to fate before cursing my own weakness and incompetence.

Then, Hades managed to teleport us out, collapsing as soon as we arrived. Completely lost and exhausted, we were too tired to move on, fearing encounters with Father's subordinates. We set up barriers to hide ourselves and began meditating to recover and heal.

Just then, a woman with slightly pointed ears, wavy black hair, black eyes, and dressed in a white robe appeared. She introduced herself as Nyx, the primordial of night, and informed us that we were currently in the underworld.

Deciding to be polite, I addressed her as "Lady Nyx." "If it wouldn't be too much trouble," I asked, "could you please help our brother and tell us where we might find our mother, Rhea, wife of Cronus?"

Hearing my question, Lady Nyx offered a small smile. "Hades," she began, her voice a soothing whisper in the tense silence, "has sustained severe injuries during his fight with Cronus. He'll need a long slumber to recover."

I absorbed her words, relief and concern warring within me. Relief washed over me knowing Cronus wouldn't pursue us, but worry gnawed at me about my brother's condition.

"I invite you all to my realm," Nyx continued. "Once everyone is recovered, I will arrange a meeting with Rhea."

Hera readily agreed, a flicker of hope igniting in her eyes. I followed suit, the futility of resistance against a being like Nyx is a harsh reality.

Lady Nyx conjured a portal, its swirling darkness beckoning. We stepped through, finding ourselves in a new realm. Similar to the prison realm, it was cold and possessed a moon, but here, the air crackled with an undeniable presence of darkness. She summoned a few servants, instructing them to show us to our rooms. We readily agreed. Before leaving, I expressed our gratitude. "We appreciate your help very much, Lady Nyx," I said. She simply nodded, and we followed the servants.

[Nyx POV]

After arranging accommodations for the godlings, I materialized on the secluded island where Gaea trained Zeus, grooming him for the role of god-king.

A curious thought flickered across my mind. Did Hades harbor similar ambitions? Watching them clash might have been entertaining, but I doubted whether Zeus would pose any challenge to him at this point.

My gaze fell upon my sister, Gaea, the primordial of earth. Despite her rigorous training, Zeus' power left much to be desired. After all this time, he still lingered in the early stages of High God class.

Disrupting their session, I revealed myself. "Greetings, sister," I called out. "A pleasure to see you once more."

Gaea's eyes widened in surprise. "Nyx," she returned the greeting. "It's good to see you as well. But what brings you here? Visits from you are a rarity outside your realm."

I feigned a pout. "Must a visit from your favorite sibling require a grand reason?"

Gaea chuckled at my playful demeanor. Turning to Zeus, she instructed, "Take some rest, child. My sister and I have important matters to discuss."

The young god, still processing my sudden appearance, simply nodded and retreated.

Gaea's gaze returned to me with a hint of seriousness. "Now, Nyx," she began, "what brings you here today?"

Adopting a more serious tone, I revealed, "The children of Cronus have escaped the prison realm."

"What do you mean, Nyx?" Gaea's brow furrowed. "No one can enter the prison realm and free them without alerting Cronus, and even if they succeeded, defeating him within his domain would be near impossible."

Gaea's eyes widened in sudden realization. "Don't tell me you freed them, Nyx," she pressed. "Remember, we primordials are forbidden from interfering in the pantheons' conflicts unless their survival hangs in the balance."

I sighed. "It was Hades, Cronus' firstborn. He destroyed the realm, managing to slay an avatar of Cronus in the process."

Gaea's eyes widened further, but I continued. "Surprisingly, he has become a god-king within that realm. You, of all beings, should know the true purpose of the prison realm. And that," I admitted with a hint of amusement, "made me rather excited. Another intriguing entity in the world."

A slight smile finally touched Gaea's lips. "You never change, do you?" she said. "Where are the siblings now?"

"Resting in my dimension," I replied. "Hades will likely be out for several years without intervention. However, I wouldn't recommend healing him too quickly. The time within that realm has granted him extraordinary resilience. The wounds inflicted by Cronus' divinity will only further strengthen his resistance over time."

Gaea nodded in agreement. "Very well. Once the godlings are sufficiently rested, I will inform Rhea and we can arrange a reunion soon. Just a friendly reminder, Nyx," she added with a hint of amusement, "our pantheon has enough chaos to deal with. Please refrain from creating more."

I pouted playfully, waving my hand dismissively before teleporting back to my realm.
