Months Later

Eddie held his pistol with his left hand as he slowly walked forward, his barrel was aimed at the ground and although he walked slowly he movements seemed natural.

'Ping.' The sound of metal rising, Eddie didn't hesitate as his pistol fired once hitting the masked man right between the eyes. This wasn't Eddie's first time taking this obstacle course even if they switched the position of the targets and gave them a random order of popping up it changed nothing.

Eddie continued slowly walking forward standing behind cover he raised his pistol, aiming around the corner he heard it again.

'Ping', 'Ping, 'Ping,' Eddie fired twice two bullets striking the cardboard made villains the third figure was a hostage one whose eyes were filled with absolute terror. To his left were a flight of stairs Eddie quickly made his way up stopping on the last stair. Readying his pistol he quickly swung around the corner aiming his pistol only for nothing to pop out.

Seeing that things were clear he holstered his pistol as he walked through the doorway light shined from the open window. Next to the window was a case he could already guess what was inside. Opening the box Eddie looked at the FN SPR A3G, quickly removing it from the box he aimed out the window.

Down below there was a masked man holding a group of people hostage his objective was simply to take him out. Looking through the scope Eddie zoomed in on the hostages before focusing on the masked man. Just as he was about to shoot he changed his mind turning his aim back towards the hostages he focused on a man between to women. Something just didn't seem right it felt too easy, The masked man wasn't even holding a gun. Although it was only a cardboard Eddie was one to pay attention to details and every other enemy was holding a weapon.

Eddie finally made his choice aiming for the hostage with one arm behind it's back Eddie fired the Rifle. Placing the Rifle down Eddie made his way down the stairs, dashing past the sign with END in big letters Eddie relaxed as he heard the sound of a whistle signaling the end of the course.

The drill Sergeant stood with his arms crossed, a stoic frown on his face, behind him stood the other recruits. Mckenna flashed him a quick smile before returning to her own emotionless look.

"Tell me Recruit, Why did you shoot that hostage."

"It was the only choice I had, Sir," Eddie said.

"The only choice you had, I think I'm gonna need a hell of a lot better explanation than that."

"Sir, Every enemy I shot was holding a weapon and every hostage I saw looked terrified. That last masked man had no weapon and the look in his eyes screamed fear, now that could have been due to the fact that he was anxious about negotiations. But I believe it was something else, among that crowd of hostages only one looked calm as if he had everything under control. I couldn't see what was in his hand so I took the shot."

"Well, Recruit I'll be the first to say, you did good. Congratulations on passing the toughest obstacle course we have here, you not only passed it but you did it with no civilians casualties. Most pass this test by shooting the last masked man with no idea that they shot a hostage. This situation isn't something that regularly happens out there in the field of duty, in most cases, there's usually someone communicating with the enemy. I can only say I think you'll make a fine officer." The Drill Sergeant smiled shocking every recruit there.

"Thank you, Sir," Eddie smiled walking over to the rest of the recruits standing next to Mckenna.

"You guys should go and celebrate, Congrats to all of you for passing tomorrow you'll officially become police officers."

Once the Drill Sergeant left Mckenna turned to Eddie with a smile on her face, "How'd you do it? No one ever passes with full marks, the last one to do it was Quentin Lance." Mckenna was wide-eyed she wanted to be like Quentin Lance, he was the onto stop the serial killer Dollmaker.

"What can I say, I have an eye for detail." Eddie smiled.

"We're all headed to a bar, to celebrate you two interested." A recruit said stepping towards Mckenna and Eddie.

Eddie looked at Mckenna seeing her nod he turned to the recruit with a smile. "We're in."

At the bar, Eddie and Mckenna could be seen sitting next to each other. the table next to them was filled with recruits, beers were on the table.

"Becoming a cop anywhere else would have taken twice as long, Starling City may not be as bad as Gotham but it's dangerous," Joe said before chugging a beer.

"Starling City used to be beautiful, back when I was a kid it was safe, That's why I decided to become a cop. I want my kids to grow up in a city where it's safe to walk across the street." another recruit said.

"I just believe in law and order," Mckenna spoke up next. "I think it's up to us to provide the city with that law and order, and we shouldn't have to look to vigilantes like Batman or Robin to do that." Everyone nodded hearing her speak, "What about you." Mckenna looked at Eddie with a smile.

"I think that bad things happen because we allow them too-.

"Oliver Queen is alive. The Starling City resident was found by fishermen in the North China Sea five days ago. Five years after he was presumed dead following the accident at sea which Claimed "The Queen's Gambit". Queen was a tabloid presence and fixture on the club scene. Queen is the son of Starling City billionaire Robert Queen who was also on board but now officially confirmed as deceased".

Eddie turned to Mckenna to see her shocked expression, he himself could only smile internally.
